1:26

2024 and you know what that means. We

1:30

are entering into a new true crime category.

1:34

If you have not been keeping up or

1:36

if this is the first episode you were listening to

1:38

for 2024, we

1:40

have been dedicating every single month to a

1:42

different true crime category. So January, we did

1:44

un-subscribed. We have been doing

1:46

a lot of work on this. We have been doing a lot

1:48

of work on this. We have been doing this

1:50

every single month to a different true crime category. So

1:54

January, we did unsolved cases. February, we

1:56

did killer couples and scorned lovers. And

1:59

now we are in. March, which is

2:01

where we are doing celebrity

2:04

cases. And I'm not

2:06

gonna lie, I was quite surprised that no

2:08

one guessed this in last episode when I

2:10

said to leave your guesses in the comments.

2:12

However, you guys gave great, great suggestions

2:15

that we are going to put into play

2:17

for future months to come. But for

2:19

the month of March, we are doing

2:22

celebrity cases. So whether that be murders

2:24

that were committed by a celebrity themselves

2:26

or cases where celebrities were killed, that

2:29

is what we are focusing on this

2:31

month. And I chose this because as

2:33

we know, there are many cases out

2:35

there involving celebrities that we have heard of

2:37

or know a little bit about but not

2:39

everything. And that is why I wanted to

2:42

dedicate a month to really diving deeper into

2:44

them. And I wanted to start with this

2:46

case that we are talking about today because

2:48

it is one

2:50

that has really drawn many

2:52

differing opinions and theories over

2:54

the years. There has been

2:56

much speculation about what exactly happened here.

2:59

So as you can tell by the

3:01

title of this episode, we are talking

3:03

about the mysterious death of

3:05

Natalie Wood. Now if you do not know

3:07

who Natalie Wood is, Natalie Wood was an

3:10

American actress who began her career in film

3:12

as a young child and then grew her

3:14

success all the way up until her mysterious

3:16

death in 1981. So I'm really curious

3:20

to see what you guys have to say

3:22

about this case. And also please leave your

3:24

suggestions and recommendations down below of different cases

3:26

that you would like to hear for the

3:28

month of March. And with that being said,

3:30

let's jump right on into it today. Natalie

3:32

Wood was born on July 20th 1938 to

3:34

her parents

3:37

Maria and Nicholas in San Francisco,

3:39

California. Now Maria, Natalie's mother, was

3:41

originally living in Russia with her

3:43

first husband, a man named Alexander,

3:45

and the two of them moved

3:47

to the United States in 1930

3:49

with their first

3:52

daughter and Natalie's older half-sister

3:54

Olga. Now Alexander and Maria

3:56

ended up getting a divorce

3:58

six years after moving to

4:00

America and Maria met Natalie's father,

4:02

Nicholas, in 1933. So a couple

4:04

years before they ended

4:08

up getting a divorce is when Maria

4:10

met Nicholas and then five months prior

4:12

to Natalie being born is when the

4:14

two of them got married. I know

4:16

it's a little bit of a confusing

4:19

timeline with the back and forth of

4:21

it all between Maria, Alexander, and Nicholas.

4:23

However, Maria and Nicholas got married in

4:25

early 1938, a few months prior to Natalie

4:27

being born. Now in 1942, Maria, Nicholas, Olga,

4:33

and Natalie moved to Santa Rosa,

4:35

California, where Natalie was actually scouted

4:37

by a crew member

4:40

during a film photo shoot. They

4:42

recruited her and shortly after in

4:44

1943, Natalie made her first

4:47

film debut. Natalie's first film was

4:50

called Happy Land and filming took

4:52

place just a few weeks before

4:54

Natalie's fifth birthday. She was featured

4:57

very, very briefly in a scene, but

4:59

in that brief part, she ended up

5:01

catching the eye of a director named

5:03

Irving Pischell. Irving really acted as

5:05

a mentor and an agent for Natalie

5:07

and over the next two years, he

5:09

remained in contact with her family and

5:11

would let them know if any parts

5:13

were available that would be a good

5:15

fit for Natalie and he was even

5:17

the one that gave Natalie the name

5:19

Natalie Wood. Natalie's birth name was Natalia,

5:21

so he decided to change that from

5:23

Natalia to Natalie and then he gave

5:25

her the last name Wood in honor

5:28

of a well-known director named Sam

5:30

Wood. Now around the time that

5:32

her acting started to pick up

5:34

a little bit, Natalie's family decided

5:36

to move from Santa Rosa, California

5:38

to Los Angeles, really with the

5:40

hopes of accelerating Natalie's acting career

5:43

and to make her a star.

5:45

Natalie's father Nicholas wasn't too thrilled

5:47

with this decision. He wasn't obsessed

5:49

with the idea of Natalie acting

5:51

or being in all these films,

5:53

however Maria on the other hand

5:55

really had her mindset on what

5:58

Natalie's future was going to look like. Now,

6:01

it's important to note that it

6:03

was said that both Natalie's parents

6:05

loved their kids wholeheartedly, but it

6:07

did not come without its fair

6:09

share of struggles as well. Nicholas

6:12

was said to be very hardworking.

6:14

He adored his kids. He did

6:16

the best he could to provide

6:18

for them. However, his main vice

6:20

was alcoholism. Nicholas was struggling

6:22

trying to survive through the Great

6:24

Depression and trying to blend in

6:26

in Los Angeles and avoid immigrant

6:28

discrimination that he was facing, and

6:30

this really contributed to

6:32

that alcoholic behavior. During

6:35

his drunk spells, it was said

6:37

that Nicholas would act out and

6:39

become violent. However, when he was

6:41

sober, he was described as being

6:43

a gentle parent and someone who

6:45

absolutely adored his children. Now,

6:47

Maria, on the other hand, while

6:50

she wasn't known for being an

6:52

alcoholic, she was known for being

6:54

a pathological liar, and that term

6:57

is coming directly from her youngest

6:59

daughter, Lana. She said that

7:01

Maria was someone where you never really knew

7:03

if what was going to come out

7:06

of her mouth was going to be the truth

7:08

or if it was going to be a lie.

7:10

However, what you could almost always count on was

7:12

the fact that whatever Maria was going to say,

7:14

it was going to be

7:16

dramatic. She was the type where she

7:19

was going to fluff up any story

7:21

to make it sound as dramatic as

7:23

possible, and Maria really did have this

7:25

big obsession with Natalie being famous. Natalie

7:28

stardom really could be accredited all to

7:30

Maria herself because Maria really was the

7:33

one to push her daughter to do

7:35

this. Maria had this hyper fixation that

7:37

Natalie was going to be well known

7:39

all over the world, and Maria was

7:41

not going to stop until that happened.

7:44

Maria really was the perfect example

7:46

of a parent who was trying

7:48

to live out their dream vicariously

7:50

through their child, and because of

7:52

that, Maria and Natalie really had

7:54

a tough relationship. Maria really

7:56

was the reason that the film crew

7:58

scouted out Natalie to begin with. That

8:01

was not an accident. Maria had heard

8:03

that there was a film crew in

8:05

town and she took her daughters to

8:07

the set and had Natalie go and

8:09

talk to people and just be seen

8:12

by others and that's ultimately how she

8:14

was casted to begin with. Now with

8:16

all of this being said, it is

8:18

important to note as well that Natalie

8:20

loved acting. This wasn't something where she

8:23

didn't enjoy it or she didn't have

8:25

a passion for it. However, the seriousness

8:27

and intensity that Maria brought into it

8:29

definitely created a strained experience for Natalie.

8:32

When Natalie was seven years old, she

8:34

got the part in a film called

8:36

Tomorrow is Forever and she

8:38

played a German orphan and during

8:40

the film Natalie was supposed to

8:43

cry on command in a particular

8:45

scene. However, she was unable to

8:47

do that. She couldn't cry on

8:49

command. However, in response, Maria decided

8:51

to tear a living

8:54

butterfly to shreds in front of

8:56

Natalie to make sure that she

8:58

would be able to cry for

9:00

the scene. So that's just an example of

9:02

the intensity that got brought into this for

9:05

Natalie from a very young age. This wasn't

9:07

something where it was just light-hearted and she

9:09

did it because oh she loved it and

9:11

it was something fun for her. This was

9:13

something that was very very serious from a

9:15

very young age. Now after

9:18

Tomorrow is Forever, Natalie went on to

9:20

act in The Bride Who Wore Boots

9:22

and then another film called The Ghost

9:24

in Mrs. Meyer. Natalie continued

9:26

getting many roles all throughout her

9:28

childhood and teenage years. She received

9:31

an education by completing schoolwork for

9:33

three hours a day on set

9:35

and she actually received exceptional grades.

9:37

She was a straight-A student and

9:39

by the time she was nine

9:41

years old she was named the

9:43

most exciting juvenile motion picture star

9:45

of the year by Parents

9:48

magazine. Now the real shift for

9:50

Natalie from playing those childhood roles to more

9:52

mature roles was when Natalie played the role

9:55

of Judy in Rebel with a Cause, which

9:57

is a movie that came Out in 1950. The

10:00

Fires Snarly filmed with James Dean in that

10:02

film and this performances but let her to

10:04

receive her first Oscar nomination. Said it was

10:06

also the first known time that not only

10:09

was exposed to the dark side of the

10:11

industry, she auditioned for the film and she

10:13

was sixteen years old and it was sad

10:15

that the forty two year old director of

10:17

that film had groomed her and that the

10:19

two of them ended up having some sort

10:22

of a say or and at first as

10:24

director it was known to find a be

10:26

bribing Natalie for the part through having this

10:28

affair he would bribe her. By saying that

10:30

if she would do certain things that she

10:33

would gets apart and was said to have

10:35

groomed her for quite some time before. Ultimately

10:37

not only did receive the part of Judea

10:39

Snow, I'm not going to sit here and

10:42

name off every single movie that not only

10:44

Would has ever appeared at because we would

10:46

be here for quite some time but I

10:48

do think it's important to mention and not

10:51

all these accomplishments because she was an incredible

10:53

incredible are Stress and in Nineteen Sixty One

10:55

Natalie starred as Maria in West Side Story

10:57

and it was in that film the she

11:00

received. Her first Golden Globe nomination

11:02

for best actress. throughout her

11:04

career not only received three

11:06

Golden Globes, along with three

11:08

nominations for Oscars, To

11:10

sell something to know about Natalee as that

11:12

she was incredibly smart, not just a book

11:15

wisely, his. as I said she received a

11:17

straight A's while she was getting her education

11:19

The she knew the film industry inside and

11:21

out and having been in it for the

11:24

majority of her life, she was very well

11:26

aware of everything that went into the making

11:28

of a good film and what you do

11:30

to make sure she was going to show

11:33

up being the best she could be for

11:35

a particular part. And at the end of

11:37

the day not Alleys just loved acting she

11:39

has seen and multiple. Interviews talking about her

11:41

love for what she's done and how

11:44

that simply just came down to her

11:46

passion for acting. She didn't care about

11:48

the stardom that followed her so she

11:50

just wanted to be able to focus

11:52

on are seeing and perfecting her cross.

11:54

She was also have said to have

11:56

had the biggest hard. She loves laughing

11:58

and having fun and making. People

12:00

feel like they could let loose and

12:02

have a good time around her as

12:04

well. Not only kid said that Natalie

12:06

had a larger than life personality but

12:08

when she was at home with her

12:10

kids and her family's you would never

12:12

be able to tell the she was

12:14

some mega movie star because she would

12:16

walk around snow make up, just kind

12:18

of doing whatever her kids wanted to

12:20

deal playing activities with them whether that

12:22

was going in the pool or coleraine.

12:24

Her kid said they had no idea

12:26

how big of a sword their mom

12:28

was, They knew that she acted, They

12:30

knew this, she was famous in that

12:33

regard. However, in terms of the scale

12:35

of her celebrity it's you would have

12:37

never known by just seeing her at

12:39

home because she was simply just not

12:41

only so now it's side in at

12:43

two more of Natalie his personal life.

12:45

Since these talks about a lot of

12:47

her accomplishments, let's get more into the

12:49

personal side of things would. Natalie was

12:51

nineteen years old. She got married on

12:53

December twenty eight, Nineteen fifty seven in

12:55

Scottsdale, Arizona to a man named Robert

12:57

Wagner robber and Natalie first met when

12:59

Natalie was. Ten years old and Robber

13:01

was nineteen and they had met onset

13:03

Natalie remembered she walked down the hallway

13:05

with her mom and she passed Robert

13:07

and then looked at her mom and

13:10

said, i wish I could marry that

13:12

man And nine years later, she did.

13:14

That. You had their first date on

13:17

July twentieth, Nineteen Fifty six when Robert

13:19

took Natalie out for her eighteenth birthday

13:21

and the two were inseparable after that

13:23

snow. As the name Robert Wagner sounds

13:25

familiar to you, that is because Robert

13:27

was also a very, very well node

13:30

actor best known for his work and

13:32

Tv shows like The Switch, It Takes,

13:34

A Theist, Pink Panther, and most famously

13:36

his Role and a series called Heart

13:38

to Heart. Both Natalie and Robert were

13:40

very well known and considered ala celebrities

13:43

at their peak of their career. In

13:45

the made nineteen sixties, Robber and Natalee

13:47

were some of the most well known

13:49

stars in Hollywood, so there was a

13:51

lot of eyes on their relationships. They

13:53

really were locked out as movie star

13:55

royalty individually, and then the two of

13:57

them together just became this power house

13:59

and. Interview Natalie describes what life

14:01

was like just after getting married

14:03

to Robert and she said quote,

14:05

we drove a corvette across the

14:07

country, radio stations would announce we

14:09

had just passed Thrill and people

14:11

would wait for us in every

14:13

little town and quote so I

14:16

wanted to include that just so

14:18

you kind of have an understanding

14:20

of how well known these people

14:22

were now. Unfortunately, and nineteen Sixty

14:24

One! After four years of being

14:26

together, Robert and Natalee ended up

14:28

getting a divorce and nineteen. Sixty

14:30

Six. So about five years after they

14:32

separated, Snarly wrote an article for Ladies

14:34

Home Journal which was a popular magazine

14:37

that focus on women's lifestyle topics and

14:39

not only row and on a article

14:41

called Public Property It's Private Person And

14:44

in the article Natalie kind of dives

14:46

in about her relationship with Robber and

14:48

explains what kind of went wrong. Here

14:51

in the article she says quote: After

14:53

two years of marriage things begin to

14:55

change. We were aware that we had

14:57

problems but tried to avoid the conflicts.

15:00

We maintain a superficially happy relationships and

15:02

helped by pretending there was nothing wrong.

15:04

The problems would go away. How do

15:07

you separate reality from illusion when you

15:09

have been trapped to make believe all

15:11

your lies Smears requires patience and work

15:14

as well as the capacity to accept

15:16

in other human beings flaws and all

15:18

without closing him in a smothering mantle

15:20

of perfection. And quote Now as you

15:23

can imagine a with these to being

15:25

mega stars. After their marriage ended, there

15:27

were a lot of rumors that were

15:30

circulating about what could have cause the

15:32

separation. Some said it was because not

15:34

only had an affair with a costar,

15:37

some sad that Robert how to theres

15:39

as well. However, Robert himself and the

15:41

people who knew Natalee claimed that the

15:44

reason for separation was not because of

15:46

any of those things. However, as you

15:48

can tell by the article that I

15:50

just read or the excerpt from that

15:53

articles the reason for the separation was

15:55

more so caused by Korean conflict than

15:57

anything else throughout their marriage. Not always

16:00

career was at an all time high.

16:02

however Roberts was starting to reach more

16:04

of a plot tell it and not

16:07

only had hinted at this in her

16:09

unpublished article by going on to say

16:11

that she had filmed to movies back

16:13

to back and didn't have time to

16:16

be the ones that she wanted or

16:18

to focus on their relationships and it

16:20

caused friction between the two of them

16:23

at which ultimately lead to more problems

16:25

and then snowballed into a divorce snow.

16:27

One thing we do know to be

16:30

true. As everyone recalled about the divorce,

16:32

and by everyone, I mean it's people

16:34

who knew the two of them directly.

16:36

With that, even though their marriage and

16:39

dead, Natalie and Robert never stopped loving

16:41

other people, it was sad that even

16:43

though they weren't together anymore, it wasn't

16:45

because they didn't love each other, it

16:47

was just that external factors had gotten

16:50

into the way and they weren't able

16:52

to prioritize the relationship as much as

16:54

they wanted. However, regardless of that's both

16:56

Natalie and Robert went on to date

16:59

and Mary Other. People's Not only for

17:01

one. Went on to marry a man

17:03

named Richard Gregson on May thirtieth, Nineteen

17:05

Sixty Nine which are It was a

17:08

British producer at the time and the

17:10

to dated for almost three years before

17:12

getting married. They ended up having a

17:14

daughter together in Nineteen Seventy. Name's Natasha

17:17

Not only absolutely loved being a mother

17:19

more than anything, she was completely and

17:21

thronged with her new role in life.

17:23

so much so that it ended up

17:26

causing problems in her marriage with Richard

17:28

19:32

So with all of this backstory I now

19:34

want to move on and focus on November

19:36

29th 1981

19:39

which was the day that Natalie Wood died.

19:41

At the time of her

19:43

death Natalie was 43 years old and

19:45

filming a movie called Brainstorm. She had

19:47

been shooting in North Carolina however had

19:49

wrapped at that location so everyone traveled

19:52

back to Los Angeles. Now during the

19:54

time that she was shooting Robert was

19:56

also shooting his Heart to Heart series

19:58

in Hawaii so everyone Everyone was happy

20:00

to have the family back together in

20:03

Los Angeles for the Thanksgiving holiday. Now,

20:05

the day after Thanksgiving, Natalie and Robert

20:07

had some company over they invited their

20:09

friends over, and according to some of

20:12

these friends, the friends said that there

20:14

was tension between Natalie and Robert. According

20:17

to Natalie's friends, they claimed that Natalie was

20:19

very anxious and that there was noticeable tension

20:21

between the two of them. One

20:23

friend claimed that they actually stayed at Natalie

20:26

and Robert's house later than usual that night

20:28

because they wanted to make sure that Natalie

20:30

was going to be okay. Some

20:33

friends claimed that Natalie really felt like

20:35

she was at a crossroads during this

20:37

time trying to navigate the work-life balance

20:39

and feeling similarly to how she did

20:41

when she initially married Robert. Now, in

20:44

the days leading up to the 29th

20:46

of November, Natalie and Robert had been

20:48

planning a boat trip to Catalina Island.

20:50

Catalina is a small island located about

20:53

22 miles away from Los Angeles, and

20:55

Natalie and Robert had invited some of

20:57

their friends to join them on this

20:59

excursion. It was going to be an

21:01

adults-only little getaway. Now, sadly, none of

21:04

their friends were really able to make

21:06

this trip with them, and part of

21:08

that was because of the weather that

21:10

was going on that weekend. The weather

21:12

forecast said to expect rain during the

21:14

next couple days while they were gone,

21:16

and so they just thought that there

21:18

was really no reason to go out

21:21

on the boat. It wasn't great boating

21:23

weather. Now, Natalie and Robert

21:25

had a 58-foot motor yacht that they

21:27

called Splendor, and motor yacht is a

21:29

type of boat that is powered by an

21:31

engine rather than being powered by sails. Robert

21:34

and Natalie bought the boat together, and they spent

21:36

a whole lot of time on this boat. They

21:38

would bring their kids on it, they would spend

21:40

time on the boat on weekends, whenever they would

21:43

have off time, they would travel to Catalina together,

21:45

and it was really a great way to be

21:47

able to escape as a family. Now,

21:50

as I mentioned earlier, Robert and Natalie invited

21:52

several of their friends on this little boat

21:54

excursion to Catalina, however none of them were

21:57

going to be able to make it, except

21:59

there was one other person

22:01

who was going to be joining

22:03

them on this boat tour, and

22:05

that was Christopher Walken. And

22:07

if that name sounds familiar to you, it

22:09

is because Christopher Walken is a well-known actor

22:12

who is most known for his appearances in

22:14

pulp fiction and Catch Me If You Can.

22:17

Christopher and Natalie were actually co-stars in

22:19

Brainstorm during this time, and they were

22:21

working on the film together, so they

22:23

had spent quite a bit of time

22:25

together. And like I said, Christopher was

22:27

the only one who accepted this invitation

22:29

to go on the boat with

22:31

Natalie and Robert. So it was

22:34

going to be Robert, Natalie, Christopher,

22:36

and then the captain of the

22:38

boat, Dennis Davarn. Now

22:40

something to know about Natalie before we

22:42

get into anything else, I think it's

22:44

important to talk about this, is that

22:46

Natalie had a very, very big fear

22:49

of the water, specifically open

22:52

ocean and dark water. This fear

22:54

stemmed from an accident that Natalie

22:56

was a part of when she

22:58

was younger, filming a movie called

23:00

The Green Promise in

23:03

1949. During the accident, while Natalie was shooting

23:05

a scene where she was supposed to run

23:07

across the bridge, and long story short, the

23:09

bridge ended up collapsing as Natalie was running

23:12

across from it, and she ended up hurting

23:14

her wrist and falling into the water, and

23:16

not only did Natalie hurt her wrist during

23:18

this scene, but she also fell into the

23:21

water and she was forced to hold on

23:23

to the remainder of the bridge to help

23:25

keep herself up. So that's really where the

23:27

root of this fear really begun. And along

23:30

with that, it has been reported that Natalie's

23:32

mother, Maria, had actually visited a psychic when

23:34

Natalie was very, very young. And

23:37

according to Maria, this psychic had told

23:39

her that her second daughter, which

23:41

was Maria, was going to

23:43

be a global sensation, however

23:45

also mentioned to be very

23:47

wary of dark water. So

23:49

again, this only contributed to

23:52

Natalie's fear. And I think it's important to

23:54

emphasize that the fear of water was again

23:56

very specific. Natalie had no problem going into

23:59

the pool with her children playing,

24:01

you know, during the day or

24:03

whatever it was, but dark water

24:05

and the open ocean really, really

24:07

terrified her. So this

24:09

boating excursion actually started on

24:11

the 27th of November and

24:13

that is when Christopher Walken,

24:15

Robert, Natalie, and Dennis boarded

24:17

the ship and sailed out

24:19

to Catalina. Now they

24:21

originally anchored in Avalon, which is

24:23

the main city on Catalina Island,

24:26

and when they anchored, the weather

24:28

was looking pretty rough, so Natalie

24:30

decided that she was not going to

24:32

stay on the boat that night, so

24:34

she actually ended up going on to

24:36

the island and getting a hotel for

24:38

herself while Robert, Christopher, and Dennis remained

24:40

back on the splendor and spent the

24:43

night. Now on the next

24:45

morning, the 28th, Natalie returned back to

24:47

the splendor and they all sailed from

24:49

Avalon, where they had originally anchored, to

24:51

a different area called Isthmus Cove, which

24:53

was actually where Robert and Natalie had

24:55

originally spent their honeymoon, so they wanted

24:57

to go there and kind of relive

25:00

that and they wanted to show Christopher what it

25:02

looked like, so they anchored over there and while

25:04

he was doing that, Natalie and Christopher decided that

25:06

they were going to go on the island, get

25:08

something to eat, and that Robert would catch up

25:11

with them. Now after Robert

25:13

woke up, he ended up taking a

25:15

shoreboat onto Catalina and met Natalie and

25:17

Chris at a bar that they were

25:19

at before they all ended up going

25:21

to dinner together at a restaurant called

25:23

Doug Harbor Reef. Now

25:25

Dennis also joined them for dinner that night

25:27

and while they were there, they seemed to

25:30

be having a very, very nice time. Everyone

25:32

who was working at the restaurant said that

25:34

they all seemed to be enjoying themselves, they

25:36

were all drinking, liquor was flowing, they had

25:38

a lot of champagne and a lot of

25:40

laughs. It seemed to be a very, very

25:42

nice dinner. Now regardless of

25:45

how happy everyone was during this dinner, the

25:47

manager of the restaurant did express concern that

25:49

the four of them were going to be

25:51

too intoxicated to get back to their boat

25:54

safely, so the manager Had asked a patrol

25:56

worker to make sure they got back to

25:58

their boat, The Splendor, very safely. Police

26:00

which they ended up doing so.

26:02

now the four of them went

26:04

from the restaurant back to the

26:06

boat. Once they got back to

26:08

the boat, this is when Robbery

26:10

decided to open another bottle of

26:12

wine and according to him so

26:14

he began talking to Chris And

26:16

during this conversation between Robert and

26:18

Chris, it's speculated that Natalee was

26:20

down in the bedroom which was

26:22

obviously in and underneath the chefs

26:24

and Robber and Crests were speaking

26:26

in the main living area snow.

26:28

During this conversation, Robert. Claims that

26:30

Christopher began talking about how

26:33

talented Natalie Wise and how

26:35

amazing Natalie Wise and also

26:37

emphasized his believes that it

26:39

was important that Natalee kept.

26:41

Working and according to Robert.

26:43

He said that this triggered something

26:45

in him. Hearing this from Christopher

26:48

really struck him at the wrong

26:50

way and this is when the

26:52

conversation went sideways because after Christopher

26:54

said this start as and Roberts

26:56

said that he looked a Christopher

26:58

and told him as that it

27:00

was in poor and said he

27:02

stayed out of not elisa lies

27:04

right before he smashed the bottle

27:06

of wine on the table. So

27:08

now things have obviously escalated at

27:10

this point. There's a lot of

27:12

tension between. Robber increase as you can

27:15

imagine and Robert did not like that

27:17

someone was telling him what was best

27:19

for his wife And along with all

27:21

of that I think it's also important

27:23

to note everyone was heavily intoxicated snow

27:25

after.comment made by Robert Christopher got up

27:27

and went out onto the deck of

27:29

the boat and again this is all

27:31

happening while not as it downstairs in

27:33

the bedroom getting ready to go to

27:35

sleep So Christopher gets up he walks

27:37

out to the doctor the boat and

27:39

this has been Robert says he followed

27:41

after Chris and the to begin to

27:43

badger. They began to just kind of go

27:45

back and forth. Robert was saying that Christopher

27:47

needed to leave not only alone of as

27:49

she was his family x, y and Z

27:51

and after getting most of this out of

27:53

their systems, Roberts said that the fresh air

27:56

was kind. Of able to bring him back to

27:58

reality and calm him down a little. And

28:00

that human Christopher were actually able to

28:02

have a more civilized conversation before they

28:04

both decided that they were going to

28:07

clock out and go to bed for

28:09

the night. Know. After Christopher went

28:11

to bed Robert also walked inside from

28:13

being out on the dac and walks

28:16

towards the main bedroom and in doing

28:18

not he ended up passing dentist who

28:20

was in the living room sweeping up

28:22

the broken glass from the wine bottle

28:25

that Robert had smashed. So Robber walks

28:27

past Dennis and then goes into the

28:29

main bedroom and this is Robert. claims

28:31

they see notice Natalie was gone. She

28:34

wasn't in the bedroom, she was it

28:36

in the bathroom. She wasn't out on

28:38

the death of the boat either. However,

28:41

the dinghy boat was gone. This and

28:43

if you're unfamiliar a dinghy boat is

28:45

a small inflatable rubber boat that's often

28:47

times tied to the side of a

28:49

larger said sat way. The occupants that

28:51

are on the sabbath their anchored out

28:53

can get into the smaller boat in

28:56

taken.onto the island it's easier and more

28:58

accessible and the only way to do.so

29:00

when Robert was out there looking for

29:02

Natalie he noticed that the dinghy both

29:04

was gone. It's

29:13

time to turn all the

29:15

lies. And turn

29:17

on the dog. This

29:27

is chilling to use

29:29

for dog. Nice. good

30:42

30:52

initially after this, Robert walks back

30:54

from being out on the deck

30:56

and asks Dennis if he had

30:58

seen Natalie or if Christopher had

31:00

seen Natalie, however, neither of them

31:02

had. And along with that, no

31:05

one had heard the dinghy engine

31:07

being fired up either. And

31:09

that was unsettling for everyone because if Natalie

31:11

had turned on that engine, all of them

31:13

would have been able to hear it. However,

31:15

no one heard a single thing. Now

31:18

at that point, Robert decided that he was going

31:20

to call a shoreboat to take him into shore.

31:22

However, when he got onto the

31:24

island, he didn't see their dinghy

31:26

boat or Natalie anywhere. He thought

31:28

it was possible that maybe she

31:31

went back to the restaurant, maybe

31:33

she forgot something, but the restaurant

31:35

hadn't seen her either. Now at

31:37

that point, the shore patrol and

31:39

the coast guard were called to

31:41

begin their search for Natalie. They

31:43

searched for her all throughout the

31:45

night before ultimately discovering her body

31:47

at 8am on November 29th, one

31:49

mile away from the boat. Natalie

31:54

had bruising on her body and her arms as

31:56

well as an abrasion on her left cheek. However,

31:58

it was not that bad. Initially, it was

32:00

said that there were no signs of

32:03

foul play. Now, it

32:05

wasn't clear to anyone how

32:07

exactly Natalie's injuries got there.

32:09

After an autopsy was performed, it was

32:12

determined that Natalie's cause of death was

32:14

drowning in hypothermia and that the manner

32:16

of death was accidental. Natalie

32:18

was found with a blood content of 0.14% and

32:22

it was also said that she had

32:25

traces of motion sickness pills and a

32:27

painkiller in her bloodstream and both of

32:29

those would have increased the effects

32:31

of alcohol. Now, initially, after speaking

32:33

to everyone on the boat, that

32:36

being Robert, Dennis, and Christopher, police

32:38

theorized that Natalie must have slipped

32:40

and fell while trying to retie

32:42

the dinghy onto the boat

32:45

and then ultimately drowned. The reason

32:47

that they were confident about that

32:49

was not only because of Natalie's level

32:51

of intoxication, however, also on that particular

32:53

night, there was a mist which would

32:56

have made it more slippery on the

32:58

boat and therefore easier to fall

33:00

into the water. According to Natalie's

33:02

daughter, she said that this also makes sense

33:05

because Natalie was very sensitive to the sound

33:07

of the dinghy being pushed up against the

33:09

boat. She really, really hated that sound and

33:12

so it made sense that she would have

33:14

tried to go out there and tried to

33:16

retie it and tighten it that way that

33:18

that noise would go away. Now, the timeline

33:21

that's been released to the public of Natalie's

33:23

disappearance was that Natalie went missing at approximately

33:25

11.05 p.m. on the 28th and

33:29

that the shoreboat was called by Robert at 1.30 a.m.

33:33

and that the Coast Guard was called at 3.30 a.m. on

33:35

the 29th and

33:37

that they searched for her body until they discovered

33:39

her at 8 a.m. Now,

33:41

as you can imagine, with Natalie

33:43

being such a high-profile figure, the

33:46

media storm and mania that took

33:48

place after Natalie's death was something

33:50

that no one had experienced before.

33:52

It was a constant craze of

33:54

cameras and videos pointing towards the

33:56

family. Robert was said to have been

33:58

stuck in bed for days, not... Knowing how

34:00

to cope with his grief or how

34:02

to continue on. But he stayed close

34:04

to his daughters and seem to be trying

34:06

to navigate through an impossible situation as

34:08

best as he could not. That does not

34:11

go without saying that there was a

34:13

lot of speculation in regards to not only

34:15

start from the very beginning, the public

34:17

very much had their own opinions on

34:19

what could have happened that night. They came

34:21

up with a lot of theories, Haven't

34:23

there been a confirmed argument? Every wine having

34:26

lot of alcohol in their sons. Some

34:28

even said that there was a love triangle.

34:30

Between Christopher Robert and Not Only

34:32

which would have created a lot

34:34

of tension and first say and

34:36

there were a lot of theories

34:39

going around and a lot of

34:41

suspicion on whether or not a

34:43

lease death was actually an accident

34:45

snow. As I mentioned earlier, the

34:47

medical examiner did declare this case

34:49

to be an accidental drowning. However,

34:52

in Two Thousand and Eleven, the

34:54

case reopened after Dennis Java and

34:56

the captain of that ship claimed

34:58

that he lied and. His initial

35:00

statement to police. After not a least

35:02

Das Stennis actually ended up coauthoring a

35:05

bug where he told a very very

35:07

different story and regards to what happened

35:09

that night snow initially and his interviews

35:11

with police. he told them that not

35:13

only must have fallen off the boat

35:16

while she was trying to get onto

35:18

the dinghy and ultimately to round which

35:20

lined up with what the coroner was

35:22

saying. However, after the book was release

35:24

and the book was called good Bye

35:27

not a goodbye splendor I see that

35:29

book was released. Dennis claimed that on

35:31

the night of not a lease das

35:33

there was a lot of tension on

35:35

this boat. He claimed that Natalie and

35:38

Robert got into an argument after Robert

35:40

accused Natalee of flirting with Christopher Us

35:42

which made him become very angry. Dennis

35:44

went on to tell police said he

35:46

believes that Robert push Natalie into the

35:49

water on the night of her death

35:51

intentionally. He totally sir Robert should be

35:53

looked at as someone who was responsible

35:55

for the death of Natalee. So because

35:58

of this authorities believed that they. Enough

36:00

information and enough evidence to reopen and

36:02

not a least case snow when they

36:04

did this. When police reopen the case,

36:06

they noticed several things, the first being

36:09

Genesis revised Statement, which is what I

36:11

just saw tio. The second being that

36:13

there were several revisions to the autopsy

36:15

findings On January Fourteen, two thousand and

36:18

thirteen, the Los Angeles Coroner offered an

36:20

additional ten page document to not a

36:22

lease original autopsy report. In these new

36:24

findings of the said that not only

36:26

could a sustained some of the bruises

36:29

on her body. Before she went into

36:31

the water. however, another source said that

36:33

the bruising could have been because she

36:35

was overly susceptible to bruising due to

36:37

the medication she was on. There was

36:40

also suggestions of bruising being similar to

36:42

someone who had been thrown out of

36:44

a boat. So as you can see,

36:46

there were many questions when it came

36:48

to some of this bruising or all

36:50

of the bruising for that matter. Along

36:53

with that, there were also several witness

36:55

statements on the night of Natalee South

36:57

to witnesses on a different boat claimed

36:59

that they. Heard a woman screaming that

37:01

night and this boat that they were

37:04

on devoted to win. This Ryan was

37:06

in the area and Natalie Wood boat

37:08

that night and according to them they

37:11

claim that they heard a woman screaming

37:13

out for help on the night that

37:15

Natalie died. So in two thousand and

37:18

twelve not least cause of death was

37:20

changed from an accidental drowning to drowning

37:22

and other undetermined of factors. And then

37:24

and twenty eight T and Robert Wagner

37:27

ended up being named a Person of

37:29

interest by. police in this investigation

37:31

they said that they believe that

37:33

it was possible that robert assaulted

37:35

natalee before she drowned and ultimately

37:37

through her into the water know

37:39

when it comes to natalee family

37:41

they have very conflicting opinions about

37:43

all of this snarl his daughters

37:45

which includes robber wagner's daughters believe

37:47

that reopening the case is really

37:49

just feeding into this media storm

37:51

and wanting to make natalie south

37:54

something about it's not and a

37:56

lot of her friends feel this

37:58

way to say feel like by

38:00

doing this, they're really just painting this

38:02

narrative that Robert was this person that he

38:04

wasn't and that their relationship was something that

38:06

it wasn't. Now Natalie's younger

38:09

sister Lana, on the other hand,

38:11

she has been very public about

38:13

her opinion that she thinks something

38:16

far more sinister happened to her

38:18

sister than just an accidental drowning.

38:21

She made many public interviews, including a

38:23

Dr. Phil interview, where she went on

38:25

to say that she thinks that Robert

38:27

was responsible for her sister's death, she

38:30

believes that the police skipped over Natalie's

38:32

death far too quickly, and ignored many

38:34

red flags. She claimed that she had

38:36

a hard time believing Natalie, who had

38:38

such an immense fear of open water,

38:40

would put herself in a position where

38:42

she would drown or get herself close

38:44

enough to the water where she could

38:46

be potentially compromised. And that was something

38:48

that the media and the public really

38:50

had a hard time wrapping their heads

38:52

around as well. The fact that Natalie

38:54

had this well-known fear of open water,

38:56

and then she ends up putting herself

38:58

in a position where she could potentially

39:01

drown. However, the other side of this

39:03

argument, you have other people saying, well,

39:05

she was very intoxicated. Her perception of

39:07

reality was probably not all the way

39:09

there. She could have just gone out

39:11

and wanted to tie up the boat

39:13

and then ultimately slipped and fell. Now,

39:16

it was a 58-foot boat. However,

39:18

many people do have questions in

39:20

regards to if Natalie did

39:22

fall into the water, and if she

39:25

was drowning, and if she was struggling,

39:27

many people have a hard time believing

39:29

that neither Christopher or Robert

39:31

wouldn't hear that. They

39:33

believe that if Natalie really did fall into that

39:36

water on accident, she would have probably struggled to

39:38

try and save herself. She would have been flailing

39:40

in the water. She would have maybe been screaming

39:42

out. And for Christopher and Robert not to hear

39:44

that does seem unlikely. So there are a lot

39:47

of speculations, as you can see, when it comes

39:49

to Natalie's death. A lot of questions that have

39:51

been raised, and I'm very interested to hear what

39:53

you guys have to say about it. this but
