Asha Degree was a well-behaved, athletic, smart young girl living in Shelby, North Carolina. However, one morning she snuck out of her house before school, never to be seen again. The subsequent investigation determined she had been planning her escape for days, but no motive could be found. She was seen over a mile from her home walking down Highway 18 in the middle of a thunderstorm by at least two passing motorists. Some of her belongings were found in a shed behind a business. Months later, her backpack was found in a construction site 26 miles away.
What happened to Asha? Why did she leave her house during a terrible storm? Why was her backpack found so far away and in a perfectly preserved state. We investigate these questions and more on this week's episode.
