games, blessing and a yoyo. Junior War

0:50

0:52

Lucy James. Oh good okay we have

0:55

the Big Daddy Greg Miller. add the

0:57

master of hot snow bike like know

0:59

you eat milk.com or know always heat

1:02

bike though the water is though the

1:04

woods up won't come on. Ah how

1:06

you doin Bless. You pretty good?

1:09

Yeah Very excited for this conversation has been

1:11

many weeks coming. Fall out spoiler cause the

1:13

entire show will be covered obviously in full

1:15

spoiler form. Real. Quick though blessing,

1:18

what is your history with? Follow. Ah,

1:20

Eyeing my first four games for three a quickly

1:22

fall in love with it. Those like the is

1:25

like what may be right as I left to

1:27

the vol in that game it was a thing

1:29

of oh man this is actually. Magic.

1:31

Like this is a bigger game that I thought I

1:33

was is funny. like my story of by the game

1:36

at the store was seeing it again stop over and

1:38

over again not really knowing what an what. For.

1:40

It was. and looking up reviews I'm it

1:42

was I was. I oh isn't that like

1:44

ten dollar? been a game stop knows what

1:47

is steel. yeah it was like twenty eleven

1:49

or some shit like twenty. Well we don't

1:51

like between buying that in buying Fallout New

1:53

Vegas and I think little reviews convinced me

1:55

to fuck to buy fought three because and

1:57

in New Vegas is buggy launches order. By

2:00

good review if I particularly rainfall

2:02

with with a fun place with

2:04

other. So I pick it up.

2:07

Thinking that wasn't going to be. To. Sub first

2:09

person shooter and I saw playing it on my

2:11

all. this is way more than a for effort

2:13

a suitor and ice fang of the I'm and

2:16

then yes and then you know played for I've

2:18

been slowly plainview new Vegas I feel for the

2:20

last decade rob pick it up and did not

2:22

get that far. This I've been playing it again

2:24

recently coming off of the fall. So yes I

2:26

really defines when my pride want my theory giving

2:29

franchises at this point Lucio to buy you. Oh.

2:31

No I saw i'm not really a big flop

2:33

as and an answer played skier I'm says and

2:36

then I thought okay well go fact of title

2:38

out when slot they didn't really vibe or that

2:40

in New Vegas it money by with it. Elsa

2:42

blame that on the fact that I just have

2:44

no attention span anymore and I think I had

2:46

just less of a tolerance. I wasn't I didn't

2:49

play them when they came out some not. Don't

2:51

have that loves really surrounding it. So

2:53

I am very familiar with Flat as

2:56

a franchise because he caught letting gaming

2:58

sure and not be played fallout Four

3:00

bunch when I came out. Two.

3:03

Different. You. Know. The

3:05

Fall. For at launch was in sixth notified Seventy

3:08

Six. I did play on Seventy Six. As a

3:10

I do really really want to play. At

3:12

New Vegas Now. And

3:15

I've seen. I've seen it on the guys

3:17

video on Fall at the A New Vegas so

3:19

I'm I'm the person who likes is not the

3:21

full. Of and yet but he left the

3:23

show know so than the big question Is

3:25

this Lucy? Are you going to?

3:27

and we've been friends a long

3:29

time? We're family, godmother, my son.

3:32

Are you. Not. going

3:34

to fumble the bag this year because i

3:36

told you last year maybe the year before

3:38

that you gotta be kept in carter for

3:40

halloween it's the perfect halloween costume for you

3:42

are now i'm a little see from vol

3:44

thirty three is the perfect cost them for

3:46

you i already for the way know as

3:48

soon as i saw it a watch that

3:51

sounds like something was going to show tongue

3:53

when we're in the vault the was always

3:55

who are you into of kind of funny

3:57

vault party x I

4:03

mean my hair is a bit longer now I can just do the thing

4:06

that I curl it at the bottom Yeah, I can yeah,

4:08

I don't know I'll do it. Okay. Cool. Cool. Cool. All

4:10

right. Thank you. I appreciate that Thank you. I love that

4:12

Greg. What about you? Oh, you

4:14

know, I'm old as you know, so I remember Fallout

4:17

3 being my introduction to the series

4:19

and what it was and I mean I remember

4:21

the first III demo where it was that Everybody

4:23

came everybody for my gene wanted to go to

4:25

it And then when they when the first wave

4:27

did and they were like this thing is incredible

4:29

Everybody's got to go play it we all went

4:31

over there and I remember getting to go over

4:34

there If you remember Fallout 3 well You'll

4:36

remember the character Colin Moriarty and I remember

4:38

getting to go over there with Colin in

4:40

this group and everybody like they thought Bethesda

4:42

I think Todd was there and thought I

4:45

gene was pulling a prank on them Cuz like that's

4:47

how old we all were and how young we all were I guess

4:49

at the time, right? But played

4:51

it there was amazed played it at launch. I

4:53

remember Charles on yet, of course, you

4:55

know, the PC gaming God Talking

4:57

about how amazing it was and all these different things and

4:59

he reviewed it I do believe and yeah diving into it

5:01

and getting lost and that was a game that was like

5:04

The everlasting Gobstopper for so long where

5:07

it was like long after my journey

5:09

to find Liam Neeson had been completed

5:11

It was still going out there and

5:13

finding new things and you know, it's

5:15

such an interesting Look

5:18

back to go that far back into history where

5:20

wikis weren't the thing right and IGN wasn't doing

5:22

a lot They had guide content, but it wasn't

5:24

like we're putting this on the front page We're

5:26

talking about the top ten Easter eggs doing these

5:29

different things And so to be able to be

5:31

months into Fallout 3 being out and

5:33

play it and find new things and

5:35

find new Characters and still have that

5:38

I'm just gonna walk that way. What happens if I

5:40

walk that way? What will I find and have those

5:43

rewarding experiences? It made me a Bethesda fan from there

5:45

on out of what they do and how they do

5:47

it Mike Yeah,

5:49

just like everybody else. I'm a Fallout boy

5:51

I Have been playing Fallout for a long

5:54

long time. I Will never forget freshman year

5:56

of college all of us jamming in to

5:58

math dorm room and watching him play Fallout

6:00

Three. however as Tony Bologna and just haven't

6:02

so much fun. We would go Fallout three

6:04

in the skate two sessions where we were

6:06

just battle and stay and it was the

6:08

best combo ever and then upload. Fall in

6:10

New Vegas I played Fall off for I

6:12

am a big advocate for Follow Seventy Six.

6:14

Me and my best friend Kevin a Sex

6:16

have played a ton of it. I am

6:18

happy to say that I am and Nuclear

6:20

Winter number one winner. That's a Battle Royale

6:22

or you refer me for some. Not many

6:24

people can say that I one that's ah

6:26

and so yeah I like. I'm a big

6:28

fan of all things Bethesda. And to see

6:30

the show come to life and how they

6:33

nailed it's ah I'm very happy and excited.

6:35

I I've been chasing the high obviously Cf

6:37

all out mean it's like lucy. I downloaded

6:39

New Vegas on seen deck for five bucks

6:41

gave year edition I've I've started New Vegas

6:43

a lot but I've never ever fall in

6:45

love with his on. Hopefully I'll get there

6:47

eventually but then of course next and Patch

6:49

jumped in their of my Taylor Swift ninety

6:51

six hour save out I would open up

6:53

my. I have no fucking another. I

6:55

went back, restarted a character, did the whole thing.

6:57

God of all had fun with it for a

7:00

night and then last night after the talking to

7:02

time I was like. I

7:04

gotta see their you my first My

7:06

mom started my third jump back into

7:09

far as every second I started far

7:11

seventy six went to the character me

7:13

a blessing play within twenty Twenty one

7:15

first opened that save our level fifteen

7:17

and I did two missions and like.

7:20

Got. A muscles pretty good when I'm going to

7:22

keep our our America is A says it's the

7:25

always home is where is followed for of so

7:27

far into the world so far and so post

7:29

the story of what it was. I remember seventy

7:31

Six of Reclamation Day just being like tame the

7:33

wild and I remember playing that it was imbued

7:36

with buggy what it is enjoyable to do. What

7:38

if not this isn't when Bus and I came

7:40

back when they added amputees of the i feel

7:42

a little bit morbid silver seems are showing last

7:44

night. Shopian. I was shocked on

7:47

Playstation Five how well it ran, how good it

7:49

looks like the lighting effects like about them are

7:51

I cool and the yeah just like. Into

7:53

things like are there's a Mission over there. Range.

7:55

Of the parks talked to this a robot. There

7:58

was a navy. To. like i just want to know

8:00

What happened to my the kid I think care of my I'm on

8:02

this and it was like 45

8:04

minutes of an hour of doing the piece to piece

8:06

the note see what happened kill the super mutant I

8:08

was like this feels good And it was

8:10

the way to drop back in the way fought for was it

8:12

for me Whereas I think tonight when I go back and drop

8:15

back in I'm excited for it come play with me I'll play

8:17

with you. Well you plan a PlayStation. I was just saying All

8:21

of 76 has a beautiful setting as opposed

8:24

to New Vegas and Fallout 3

8:26

which are very barren Wasteland's being in the

8:28

West Virginia Forest is beautiful right I love

8:30

going through the hills It's got that fall

8:32

vibe to it. It feels so much different

8:34

than the other games I think that's what

8:37

always draws me to that just more of

8:39

the color palette that they have and again coming

8:41

from The show to Fallout

8:44

4 to 76 and talking

8:46

to Todd yesterday It's the little things I wasn't

8:48

even noticing right of like the you

8:50

know of course fall at 76 You have

8:52

like a tan motif to your Pip boy It looks

8:54

different than the Pip boy and for so to go

8:57

from forward of this every Pip boy kind of feels

8:59

and looks the same Right, but then to be in there like

9:01

not one night do one and do the next like alright. There

9:03

is a different vibe to all this Yeah,

9:06

it's interesting cuz Lucy. I have even less experience than

9:08

you when it comes to follow I

9:11

have never played a follow game period so watching

9:13

the show. I finished it last night It was

9:15

really my first introduction to the

9:17

franchise like you said being in the games industry

9:19

I know a lot about it I am familiar

9:21

with the Iconography and the colors

9:23

and the the concepts of a lot of things But

9:25

there's a lot that I don't understand and I've just

9:28

kind of like seen at a hot topic Next

9:33

um I if I remember correctly I

9:35

think that me and Colin did a let's play

9:37

of the opening of one of the Fallout

9:39

games like okay in like 2015 of early

9:41

days are kind of funny That

9:44

was my only experience playing the game ever

9:46

so very excited to talk about

9:48

the show But we're not gonna

9:50

do that quite yet because I want to let

9:52

11:17

11:19

11:21

11:26

you can super chat to be part of

11:30

the show. If you agree or

11:32

disagree with us, let us know via YouTube super

11:34

chats. I wanna start,

11:37

how was that with Lucy? Yeah. What did you

11:39

think of the fallout show? I

11:41

really liked it. I think,

11:44

right. So I don't know if

11:46

you know this, but I used to cover

11:48

Westworld very, very extensively. Westworld over a games

11:50

book on a entertainment brand. And so

11:52

when I saw that Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy were attached

11:54

to this, I was like, okay, you've

11:57

got my attention. I'm not necessarily interested in

11:59

fall. out but they are,

12:01

they have a track record at least doing

12:04

two good seasons of a TV show. We

12:06

don't talk about Westworld, season three.

12:09

But I was like I'm really

12:11

into how they, you know

12:13

I think they carry a lot of weight in the fact that they were fans

12:15

of the game so I was like okay this is gonna come from a really

12:18

good place I hope. And then I was watching the show

12:20

and I was just like the

12:22

characters feel really good like

12:24

in terms of how they are, how they're

12:26

motivated, it has like quirky humor. I think

12:29

in terms of the actual set design it's

12:31

not, there is obviously a lot of CG

12:33

in it but it's not over

12:35

the top two away where it looks. A lot of it's practical right?

12:38

A lot of it is practical. They add the CG on. And

12:40

it's, I love that, I miss that and it makes

12:42

it look, gives it a sense of

12:44

place, makes it look and feel really authentic and I really

12:46

enjoy it. Some people I was talking to didn't enjoy how

12:48

many music drops there were. Really? But I was like oh

12:50

I think that's a fallout though. So

12:53

overall I was just like in

12:55

terms of the whole package I was really into it.

12:57

I liked that there was a compelling mystery like what

12:59

is in Vault 31 because that's such a big deal

13:02

in Fallout and like every Vault is pretty much an

13:04

experiment and there's always something really creepy and messed up

13:06

and I want to know what it is. And I

13:08

think they really told the line

13:10

with that mystery really well. And

13:12

then when they started incorporating flashback stuff

13:15

and fitting it in really great ways

13:17

and like how Walton Goggins character, how

13:19

you see him change in particular. Like he's not just

13:21

this one dimension. He reminded me a lot of the

13:24

Man in Black from Westworld

13:26

and like that Ed Harris' character in the same

13:28

way. And I was just like I really

13:30

like the way that it's, you know, the three different,

13:32

I did see a comparison of this on Twitter. This

13:34

is a long rambling one I'm sorry. Well,

13:36

kind of funny. But

13:39

it was like I really liked the fact that it was

13:41

like Lucy's character is the do-gooding

13:45

player. Maximus is kind of like the

13:47

morally grey in between and then the

13:49

ghoul is just like I'm just gonna shoot up

13:51

everything and mess everything around. I really liked it

13:53

because, you know, I play

13:56

like Lucy all the time. I'm

13:58

a little do-gooder and then I'm gonna Eventually, maybe I'll do

14:00

like a Renegade run, but I liked it. They had three

14:03

different viewpoints I love the way they intersected But

14:05

my main thing is that I love that

14:07

they use my favorite little freak

14:09

guy Ben Linus from

14:11

lost Michael Emerson as the doctor

14:13

when I saw him. Oh, so how does a great

14:16

drop? Yeah, what a great character pic But

14:18

overall I loved it. I don't think there's

14:20

actually anything that I really I Like

14:24

about it, and I'm having a really difficult time

14:26

with TV in general at the moment just like

14:28

actually committing to watching something and Fall

14:31

out being eight episodes all killer no

14:33

filler for me. I was yeah, I blasted

14:35

through it in like three days. I loved it Mike

14:38

I'm gonna go to you. What do you think of the

14:40

fallout show? You know we did the review just

14:42

a couple weeks ago, and I gave it a five out

14:45

of five I loved this adaptation. I thought it was an

14:47

absolute blast I really stick with Lucian

14:49

what they talked about I think the casting was

14:51

great every single character that you saw throughout that

14:53

fit the role so well And I got to

14:55

give a shout out to the brother I mean

14:57

norm that guy you look at him you like

15:00

you are norm, and you're so perfect and so

15:02

the casting really carried a lot of it for

15:04

me, but the Sets all

15:06

looked beautiful that iconic blue and yellow vault suit

15:08

will always pop on screen for me And how

15:10

they told a story in the fallout sandbox that

15:13

isn't a retelling of a story We already have

15:15

they did a fantastic job with that and now

15:17

that it's the spoiler cast We can finally talk

15:19

about it's like I love that of course It's

15:21

just like every other fallout of how do we

15:24

get out of the vault? Oh my god my

15:26

dad is taken I got a Now

15:29

we can finally talk about that we couldn't talk about

15:31

it last time But that did make me smile of

15:33

when we first like started talking about oh the fallout

15:36

TV show I was wondering well What is

15:38

it gonna be is it gonna be hey

15:40

somebody stole my baby? Oh my god I

15:42

got to go find my dad in the

15:44

wasteland and sure enough there Was but I

15:46

think they did such a good job at

15:48

tying everybody in giving us great callbacks to

15:50

iconic characters Really cool locations all of the

15:52

different weapons the foods the items that you

15:54

see throughout the game They nailed everything so

15:56

for me. I had a big smile on

15:58

my face throughout all of it I thought

16:00

they did a fantastic job right up there with the

16:02

last of us way better than halo as a big

16:05

Xbox fan I am happy to see a positive

16:07

here in the video game world That's coming to

16:09

the TV screen and I have so many Series

16:11

ideas of what we'll see in the future that I have

16:13

papers here I can't wait to talk about but like they

16:15

nailed it Tim. That was a lot of fun to watch.

16:17

It was great bless Yeah,

16:20

I mean are we going full-spool? It's gonna talk.

16:22

Oh, yeah, dude for sure I think for me

16:24

the first three episodes started a bit slow the

16:26

first episode of that was awesome I think starting

16:29

off in vault 33 and setting up the turn

16:31

of oh This is connected to another vault and

16:33

having like the reveal of oh snap. Okay, there

16:35

are Raiders and this is fucking everything up Oh,

16:37

man, that's a crazy way to start off like

16:39

a fall of all I like how classically fallout

16:41

this is and getting the reveal of the mystery

16:43

getting like the others a third wall Oh all

16:46

the overseers for vault 33 are coming from vault

16:48

31 I absolutely

16:50

love that mystery and for me it brought me back something

16:52

like severance right of I were in this

16:54

very Designed organized place in there There is a

16:56

conspiracy going on and I think how they paste

16:58

that conspiracy out and have those beat-by-beat Reveals in

17:01

the end of the penultimate episode where norm steps

17:03

in default 31 and the episode ends I'm like,

17:05

dude, that's that was the moment where I was

17:07

like I wish this was weekly because I had

17:09

to sit with that for a week Oh, man

17:11

I would have been obsessed with the conversations that

17:13

the internet would have had about it or that

17:15

we would have had at work or like The

17:18

series that people would have been creating I think

17:20

there's so much potential in the show as far as the

17:22

How they do such a good job of balancing mystery and

17:24

building up to I have no idea what's about to happen

17:27

Where they're about to go. I think that stuff is done

17:29

very well episodes 2 & 3 for me I

17:31

had their moments but I think

17:33

Maximus as a character took a while to grow on

17:36

me and in the second half of the season as

17:38

they You know took took him

17:40

towards a more comedic place and made him like oh,

17:42

he's dumb, but he's funny I think they found a

17:44

place for him, but I was a struggle for me

17:46

in the first half But

17:49

the big turn for me funny enough talking

17:51

about Lucy McLean At

17:53

first I was a bit if you on

17:55

that character because it was oh, you're very

17:58

plucky. You're very positive. You're very cleansed And

18:00

that's how you're supposed to be because you're coming out

18:02

of the vault, but I'm used to fallout being so

18:05

gruesome and gory and

18:08

disgusting and I was looking for that rawness

18:10

of fall out and in episode four where

18:12

the goal cuts off her finger I was

18:14

like, this is it. This is

18:17

exactly what I'm looking for out of this

18:19

show Like you took this very again plucky

18:21

positive like cheery character and you are fucking

18:24

her up in episode four That was such

18:26

a strong. Oh shit, and then from there

18:28

it was Okay, we're really treating

18:30

this well like you are you

18:32

know, give me the rawness of the goal You're giving me

18:35

these really cool beats of oh, he's doing this They're like,

18:37

you know letting her get her organs

18:39

harvested so we can get the serum so he

18:41

can stay alive Oh, that's very fascinating and so

18:43

much out of how they treat the characters motivations

18:45

are so strong and so interesting I still have

18:47

things here where with Maximus that I'm not completely

18:50

sold on but I think with him They kind

18:52

of came around with him for the most part

18:54

for me as a character where I'm on

18:56

the side of liking him more Then I dislike him. Yeah, overall

18:59

really enjoyed the show on the review. I gave it a four

19:01

out of five I think it there are so many fantastic things

19:03

about it. There are some things I'd like to do better for

19:05

a season for a season two some

19:07

of that stuff is like CG and stuff but

19:09

even with that a lot of how the

19:12

armor looks for the Brotherhood of Steel, I think looks great like a

19:14

lot of the Creatures a

19:16

big I think it's called like

19:19

the glurper or glauper or like the axolotl monster I

19:21

thought that stuff looked cool. Go for it. Go for

19:23

it I thought I thought it

19:26

was a fun set piece even though I didn't love

19:28

it all the way in terms of just the visual

19:30

of It but yeah, I really really enjoyed the season

19:33

Greggy, yeah, I think you know removed

19:35

from it because yeah, we did the review. I was

19:37

with Mike five out of five I

19:40

loved it and we talked about on PS. I love you

19:42

a few times and we've talked about games daily This that

19:44

the other I think we're like without hyperbole

19:46

I think it is the best video game adaptation and

19:48

I don't say it lightly and I don't mean to

19:50

cash shade at the last But I think the

19:53

last of us as a game was So

19:56

much more than a game right it felt like that

19:58

was adapting even though it didn't a movie or a

20:01

TV like the way the themes and the acting

20:03

and the mocap and the way it all coalesces

20:05

into this experience I think is so great. I

20:07

think you watch Fallout and I just

20:09

and I know I've said it a few times on a

20:11

few different shows now but like when Lucy

20:13

gets stabbed in the in episode

20:15

one and uses a stim pack and then it's

20:18

fine I was like oh

20:20

all right here we go right because I had paid a little

20:22

bit of attention I knew it was supposed to be in the

20:24

same world but I wasn't like

20:26

ready for them to be like no no we

20:28

are one for oneing what you do in the

20:30

game we are taking the same sound effects the

20:33

hacking is the exact same we're doing the holotape

20:35

games where you know the vault looks like the

20:37

vault you got the abraxos you got the uh

20:39

cogs worth and it's like holy

20:41

shit you did this and you didn't

20:44

do it in a way of you wanted the pat

20:46

on the back you wanted the wink at the camera

20:48

you want like you know that you made

20:51

a world here where the

20:54

outlandish nature of Fallout

20:56

and the oh man they're all irradiated but they're

20:58

still alive and there's ghouls and like this wouldn't

21:00

really make sense with how radiate like it doesn't

21:03

matter like they come out they commit to what

21:05

the fallout lore is what the fallout world is

21:07

and then make a show that I think then

21:09

allows you to suspend your disbelief and

21:11

on the one hand be like yeah

21:13

the gulper I didn't love some of the scenes of

21:15

him but then when he opens and he's got all

21:17

the fingers in his mouth right it was like oh

21:19

that's a weird touch and then they get the payoff later

21:21

on when we get back to the vault and it's

21:23

like oh okay like you're doing this you're cheating this

21:25

you're going I'm with blessing that like Maximus

21:30

was a odd character I feel in the beginning

21:32

I'm trying to get my head wrapped around him

21:34

but I fell in love with him throughout and

21:36

to get to the end and have it be

21:38

like episode one it was very much like fuck

21:41

dude I'm the waltz and goggins I just love period

21:43

but like the ghoul crushing this okay great oh Lucy

21:45

she's pure she's this she's from the vault I love

21:47

you Lucy you know that but this this Lucy and

21:49

the show right like okay cool I'm interested to see

21:51

what it's gonna be like when she has like the

21:53

even just having the moment of her coming out of

21:56

the vault and having it be the moment when we've

21:58

all come out of the vault but then And then

22:00

to get to the end and have Maximus, I think,

22:02

mean as much to me as the other two that

22:04

I loved instantaneously, but get there shows the power of

22:06

what they did here. So yeah, I'm going to rant

22:08

and rave about it, but I adore this

22:11

in a way that I, I

22:14

think, blessing you said, after we did

22:16

the show, and maybe you touched one of the games again, you forgot how much

22:19

Fallout meant to you, or how much of a fan

22:21

you were. It's a similar thing for me, where I

22:23

think when I sit there and talk about the games

22:25

I love, and the IPs you attach Greg Miller to,

22:27

which are many of these days, maybe

22:29

fall off the top of the list, but it is that idea of

22:32

like, fuck, I forgot how much I

22:34

like Bethesda games, and how much I like this world,

22:36

and how much they poured into it. And so

22:38

I'm fucking happy as a pig and shit about this, Tim,

22:41

but what about you? I am too, man. I

22:43

think that the show is just such a success,

22:45

just starting there. I would give it a five

22:47

out of five for the season. I, from the

22:49

jump was invested, and I finished it. Here I

22:51

am on the spoiler cast. Never in a million

22:53

years would I expect that I'd be on a

22:55

Fallout TV show spoiler cast, and liking it so

22:57

much. But I feel like the thing

22:59

that sold me was, on Games Daily, Bless

23:02

was like, it's like success, not succession, severance.

23:05

And he's like, I know you like that, Tim. I think you're

23:07

gonna like this, and you were so right. I

23:09

feel like the quality, and just

23:11

the set design, and costume design, and

23:13

just the amount of iconography that they

23:15

use, and to somebody that's new to

23:17

all of this, for them to introduce

23:19

it to me in a way that

23:21

I understand, and I'm excited about, it's

23:24

such a Herculean task that somehow

23:26

they just accomplished with

23:28

ease. Every single plot beat, I

23:31

understood what was going on. I was excited to see

23:33

what was happening next. I do wish the show was

23:35

a weekly release. I feel like that really would have

23:37

benefited it. But I think

23:39

that they did a great job just continuing

23:41

to make me want to come back. I

23:43

can't wait for a season two. What an

23:45

amazing, when we see New Vegas at the

23:48

end, I haven't played these

23:50

games, but I'm like, that's one of the

23:52

games. This is awesome, and also Vegas is

23:54

cool as hell, just imagining Vegas in this

23:56

world. Come on, there's gonna be some absolutely

23:59

wild shit there. But I

24:01

really really loved Lucy, similar to some of

24:03

you guys. Maximus, I didn't really vibe with,

24:05

I think by the end, totally made up

24:07

for it. Like I feel like the, it

24:09

wasn't so much Maximus that was my problem.

24:11

I think the Brotherhood stuff is the weakest

24:13

part of the season. And

24:15

he is just the face of that, so I think that

24:17

all kind of goes together. But

24:20

my god, Walter Goggins, man. The

24:22

ghoul, Walton Goggins, the ghoul was

24:24

the coolest motherfucker. I think that

24:26

might be my favorite like outfit

24:28

I've ever seen. Like the tattered,

24:30

like the cape jacket situation going

24:32

on, the bandolier going on. So

24:34

freaking cool. Everything he's ever seen was awesome. He's still wearing

24:37

the cowboy shirt from, you know what I mean, it's all

24:39

faded and fucked up but it's the same one from when

24:41

he rode off with his daughter. And that to me is

24:43

kind of the thing that I am most surprised by, is

24:45

the level they went back

24:47

to the flashbacks of the pre-Fallout times and the

24:49

mystery that they started setting up with his character,

24:52

I was so interested in. I feel

24:54

like they did such a great job of

24:56

making it feel like a believable world. Him

24:58

being an actor, them being in Hollywood,

25:01

like all that stuff. I was like, oh, this

25:03

is super cool for the weird retro future vibe

25:05

that you have going on both in and out

25:07

of the vaults. But it's

25:09

all come together in the final episode of

25:11

all the storylines connecting. Like it was kind

25:13

of obvious in a lot of ways. Like

25:15

once they gave us all the information in

25:18

every episode, so it wasn't like it was

25:20

a major reveal to see it all go

25:22

down, but it was earned. Like it

25:24

was so satisfying. I'm like, God damn dude,

25:27

her dad is that involved with this whole

25:29

thing? And that's cool. You

25:31

know, it didn't feel like just like a twist

25:33

for twist sake. It felt like, oh no, this

25:35

was built too and this makes sense. And all the

25:37

experiments and the different vaults, like I love that

25:39

it's the vault 3132, That

25:43

implies there's one to 30 and probably a lot more.

25:46

It's just so cool. It's at least 111. But

25:49

they did such great world building with that where it's

25:51

like to somebody that doesn't know that necessarily. I now

25:53

like it just puts you in this place. I feel

25:55

like the amount of random actors

25:57

and actresses that would just pop up in the amount

26:00

I was like, oh shit! It's like, that's cool,

26:02

you know? And I feel like that- Cret Armistice,

26:04

Chris Pawnell. All of it, just so

26:06

fun. But this is Prestige Television.

26:08

I'm so happy they pulled it off.

26:11

Again, I'm a broken record here, but I can't believe

26:13

we're in an era that we're getting this and Last

26:15

of Us and so many other great things. But

26:18

again, what I think is so impressive about

26:20

this is that it's an original thing. That

26:23

it isn't like, oh, we're adapting Fallout 3, we're

26:25

adapting Fallout 4, granted you have to leave because

26:27

of your dad. You know what I mean

26:29

in terms of, they didn't take one of the

26:32

greatest hits and say, we're gonna make that the thing. The

26:34

fact that they were like, what

26:36

you mentioned earlier, right? And what Todd talked about yesterday, they're like,

26:39

no one's a fan. So they understood the games, right?

26:41

So they wanted to go in and make it part

26:43

of this and put it on the official timeline and

26:45

have all these references. That's so

26:47

incredible that they did it and they nailed it

26:49

and they made something that I think is so

26:51

additive to the universe. Yeah, very cool. The it

26:54

being canon to the games, but being an original

26:56

story is, again, it's a

26:58

success. They really achieved something special here.

27:01

I wanna get into some real spoiler talks though. Who wants

27:03

to start? Like what is the most spoiler ready thing you

27:05

wanna talk about? I just wanna talk about Vault 4. Vault

27:08

4 is probably my favorite segment of the show.

27:11

The Vault stuff has always been my favorite content

27:14

in Fallout from the games. And

27:16

I think having that stuff tackled

27:18

in a TV show almost works better than

27:20

in the video games at points because in

27:22

the TV show, you have the opportunity to

27:24

cut back and cut away and go, all

27:26

right, we can expand on what the

27:28

Vault story was that we emerged from as far as

27:31

like Vault 332 and 31. Cause

27:34

I think in the first episodes, they didn't even allude to 31. I

27:36

feel like 31 kind of came out of nowhere. 31

27:39

they reference because that's where

27:41

like, like I think her

27:43

dad is referenced to come from 31 and so

27:45

is her cousin. But they like, I feel like it was kind of

27:47

like a quick, so you don't think about Vault 31. It's

27:50

also like the same way like Hank calls

27:52

the house and he's just like Henry, the

27:54

rabid fan. You just don't think about it. Yeah.

27:56

It all comes back at the end. As soon as

27:58

they start unpacking that stuff. I love that

28:00

you could do that. I love that you could

28:03

have, uh, Norm, uh, Lucy's brother like on a

28:05

sort of on a different question than what he's

28:07

on. And yeah, like get cutbacks to, oh, but

28:09

there's even more stuff happening here that is going

28:11

to make this vault really interesting. I think vault

28:14

for when you get there and you're like, Oh,

28:16

what's going down? Like they're going to fucking harvest some

28:18

organs or like, it's going to be some crazy shit.

28:21

And you meet the vault overseer that has the one

28:23

eye in the center of his face. And

28:25

it is like, nobody's paying any attention to

28:27

it except for, uh, Lucy and

28:29

I've been maximists, right? They're like, Oh man, like what's going

28:32

on? And you see all the different mutated stuff. You're trying

28:34

to figure out, all right, what's going on here? Like, what

28:36

is the experiment here? And then you get to the cult

28:38

shit and you're like, okay, well what the

28:40

fuck? And then you learn that it's like, Oh, okay. There was

28:42

a vault here before these people are all people that came through

28:44

after I thought that stuff was handled in such an entertaining way.

28:47

And I don't, I just love that whole secret. It was

28:49

another great cliffhanger, right? Of that episode where they just fall

28:51

down the shoot and then we're in a vault and it

28:54

cuts like, yeah, they did such a great job of I

28:56

gotta watch another one. Can you stay up

28:58

for another one? I gotta watch it. You know what I mean?

29:00

I keep turning and going. I want to get to a couple

29:02

of super chats real quick. Jordan white says, thank you for doing

29:04

this while 76 is down fills my fallout need. We're

29:07

here for you everybody. Uh, DJ, Kento says

29:09

could anyone else almost see the dialogue choices

29:11

when Lucy frees the ghouls in the organ

29:13

traders, super duper mart freezers, the consequences of

29:15

playing lawful good too closely. It feels so

29:17

true to fall out. Yeah. 100%. Like, and

29:19

I think that's again, like why

29:22

I think this is such a successful adaptation of

29:24

a world we know in a game, uh, game

29:27

design we know, right? Where it was

29:29

that it was them getting sidetracked by

29:32

side quests. Of course, you know, the ghoul thing is

29:34

my try to like, that's the first rule of the

29:36

way plan getting sidetracked by bullshit or whatever. Like that

29:39

was awesome. That was incredible. Even just the head of like,

29:41

all right, we're taking the head. This is the McGuffin, the

29:43

way it gets kicked around. Other people picking it up. Like

29:46

they did such a great job taking what you do

29:48

in a fallout game and making it here and just

29:50

making the wandering feel like you were in the game.

29:53

Let alone the dialogue. Only special

29:55

feature says as a twin peaks fan, young

29:57

Henry reveal, I lost my mind. Love Kyle

29:59

McLaughlin. Is Michael,

30:01

Mario Rivera, right again. Kyle,

30:03

he must have changed his name. Yeah, Kyle. Yeah,

30:06

exactly. He was great. Yeah. What

30:09

a great, that actor's always dope, but seeing him in this

30:11

role, I thought he crushed it. Again,

30:13

with some twists that I just didn't really... Yeah. From

30:15

the beginning, obviously, didn't see coming, but even just the

30:17

way he acted in the end, I was like, whoa,

30:19

this is pretty intense. Totally right. I think that, again,

30:21

what a bunch of shit heads all the fucking Vault-Tec

30:24

folks are, right? And so, you know, Buds,

30:26

what are they? Buds? Buds? Buds

30:29

Buds? That was like, to

30:31

get into those flashbacks and have those moments and

30:33

have those little conversations was like, man,

30:36

fuck Bud or whatever, and then have the reveal

30:38

that he's the brain, and then, yeah, like the

30:40

young Henry thing, right, where they do, again, so

30:42

well to see Walton Goggins, right,

30:44

sitting there, hearing his wife settle

30:46

out the human race, or crazy. And then we're

30:48

reeling from that. He's reeling from that. And then

30:50

Henry walks in, which is going to set us

30:53

off to real, which then makes you go, oh

30:55

shit, Betty is actually Betty. Yeah.

30:58

And then the overseer were eventually going to be in Vault

31:00

33. I didn't cop that. And then she, and he

31:02

goes, oh thanks, Betty. I was like, oh. Yeah, exactly.

31:04

And it was another one of those like little like, oh man, you

31:07

guys did such a good job of seeding this stuff in there and

31:09

going. But yeah, back to it of like, I

31:11

think the actor, like you're talking about, right, Kyle,

31:13

thank you so much, who we've seen in so

31:15

many things, obviously, and I know him from Twin

31:17

Peaks, but I never watched Twin Peaks. So I

31:19

just know him as all the different things he's

31:21

done at Sex in the City, whatever. Like

31:23

now you get here, right? And it's like, he's such

31:26

a warm, welcoming father to then be stolen. Like, all

31:28

right, what's going on? And then to get there and

31:30

have him be bad, right? Have him get shot in

31:32

the face, have him fly off, like so

31:35

much good stuff there. And like, if to your point, blessing,

31:37

and I agree that there would have been great conversations week

31:39

to week about it. I'm now left

31:41

with like all the conversations I want to have about

31:43

what season two is, right? Like him flying away, you

31:45

know, ghoul being like, it's easier to chase a stuck

31:47

pig or a, you know, wounded pig or whatever. It's

31:49

like, fuck, like I can't, what are they going to

31:51

do in Vegas? Who's it going to be? What's happening?

31:53

What's your direction to when it came to that stuff

31:55

of seeing somebody in the past scenes and then being

31:58

like, all right, so how are they? Then

32:00

like some of right like even mold aver I don't

32:02

think they explained exactly don't happen like you have to

32:05

assume that she was in cryo freeze But where does

32:07

she get into a cryo freeze right who knows yeah?

32:09

I said this is oh you know obviously we saw

32:11

it fought for there's also cryo freeze there So there's

32:13

like obviously this isn't one vault that had it and

32:16

yeah There's been multiple vault to have it But like

32:18

you know there are the theories are going through my

32:20

brain as we're as we're getting those flashbacks and also

32:22

getting conversations with Maximus earlier in the season Between

32:25

her and or him and Lucy talking

32:27

about yeah like reclamation day

32:29

is this and he's like oh no like the

32:32

War happened just recently like it would happen when I

32:34

was a kid and having that timeline be Confused

32:37

in a way and then as like as they kept

32:39

going with that I was like oh maybe Maximus is

32:41

right or like Having played fallouts

32:43

right I'm like maybe there's since like I think with

32:45

mold Iver where I really hope that she's a she

32:47

turns Out to be a sin since

32:50

can bleed right with synthetic blood, so it's

32:52

not like we see she sits there Like

32:55

there's a whole bunch of shit. I know but it's like

32:57

I think that would be a fun way of There

33:00

was this woman who was there leading the resistance

33:02

way back in the day right and then she's

33:04

obviously Brilliant and knows all the science and was

33:06

able to save her brain put it

33:08

into a sense whatever make an AI version of herself I

33:10

hope it's not just oh yeah, she cryo physically froze herself

33:12

at another vault or some other way yeah Question

33:16

for me nerds here when we get the scene of

33:18

the voltech people all kind of talking about like here's

33:20

what we're gonna What is their

33:22

plan like we're like if they're gonna

33:24

just destroy the world what are they The

33:30

games do we ever see that I

33:32

don't think you ever I don't want to speak out of turn

33:34

even a Walton

33:36

Goggins character his wife is

33:38

talking about like the reason she's putting up with

33:41

all this shit because she's trying to get them

33:43

in one Of the good because there's there are

33:45

vaults that aren't crazy experiments. Yeah, there are control

33:47

Yeah, they're like what oh let alone VIP vault

33:49

tech vault Yeah, and also he says like I want

33:52

to know what happened to my family as well. It's like

33:54

that's a season two Even

33:57

just thinking about that where it's like yeah

33:59

if they were if they were in cryo if

34:01

there were sense or whatever he's been alive

34:04

and like part of it he's been underground

34:06

and just kept alive forcefully but he's been

34:08

having like 200 plus years to just stew

34:10

on this yeah I can't wait to see what he

34:12

does yeah if you want

34:14

to get like into the weeds like you can

34:16

go and my tik-tok is filled with everyone breaking

34:18

down everyone in that room right because it's Rob

34:21

Cohen thought of other people and it's oh this

34:23

guy this is the dude from New Vegas and

34:25

he did this and he had his own vault

34:27

that was his own like that's like wait so

34:29

this in in that room there were characters from

34:31

the games yeah oh yeah no no like a

34:33

lot of those guys are not all that's the

34:36

whole thing is like if

34:39

it depends I love

34:41

fallout as we've said here I love fallout

34:43

and doing my story and finding the crazy

34:45

shit and yada yada I'm not the fallout

34:47

lore guy in like there's so much lore

34:49

layered into this show in terms of like

34:51

oh well that guy did this and he

34:53

doesn't believe him because he's got his own

34:55

thing that he's the only and he does

34:58

like it's crazy just the glances

35:00

and the cameos and what those people at

35:02

that table mean damn that that is extra

35:04

damn cool I want to keep talking about

35:06

this but I want to do that after

35:08

a quick word from our sponsors looking

35:41

Benny and when she booted up for the

35:43

first time she got to see a sweet

35:45

36:21

couple more super chats for you. Mara

36:24

says shout out to Johnny Pemberton from

36:26

Superstore as the Squire. Absolutely hilarious. Loved

36:28

him. And DJ Kento says I

36:30

can't get over this. Johnny Pemberton who plays Thaddeus, he's

36:32

older than Greg. That guy will play

36:34

young people forever. Wow. God

36:36

bless him. Thaddeus might live on forever because he's

36:38

probably a ghoul running around somewhere. I think he's

36:40

a super mutant. Which will be very exciting. I'm

36:42

convinced he's turning into a super mutant. Because I'm

36:45

surprised a few things. I'm surprised there weren't super

36:47

mutants in season one but I also like it

36:49

because that means they're holding things back. But then

36:51

also- Waiting for budget too. Yeah, waiting for budget.

36:53

But I think if you're going to

36:55

make super mutants, I think he would make such a

36:57

good super mutant especially if you retain his personality. Because

37:00

he's such a fucking uber. Yeah. So

37:02

imagine that character in his personality, in

37:05

his voice, now in this fucking bulked

37:07

up fucking dominant body type. I

37:09

think that'd be hilarious and I think that's what they're

37:12

going for. They did a fantastic job holding back the

37:14

two big ones which is the Deathclaw and the super

37:16

mutants. Mike tell me what those things are. Cool right?

37:18

What are those things? Well the super mutants of course

37:20

are, you know, in some vaults people are working on

37:23

genetic mutations and some people return the super mutants

37:25

which we saw. And then the Deathclaws, I don't

37:27

know what the heck those are. I think those

37:29

came from a vault but those are the iconic

37:31

beasts that we all know. I was reading up

37:33

those yesterday because I'm a nerd. Deathclaws I believe

37:35

were like a government weapon to kind

37:37

of like replace humans in battle and

37:39

then they escaped and just took over. Took

37:41

over the free one. Classic. So

37:44

they did a great job holding those things. So it's like they teased

37:46

it? Yeah. And we saw the

37:48

super mutant hand on the enclave as well. So that

37:50

was on one of the gurneys walking by. So we

37:53

saw both of those kind of but it will be

37:55

exciting to see if they pull those out of New

37:57

Vegas that shot. That will be awesome right? Of like

38:00

Mr. House and control we're kind on this

38:02

interesting timeline of it's 200 years after all

38:04

that stuff So where does it line up?

38:06

Who's still around? What will they reference? Will

38:09

we have players that we chose our kind of

38:11

endings will those be referenced or will it just

38:13

be its own thing? Right because they can kind

38:15

of play with however they want Yeah this is

38:17

one of the other ones I ran into right

38:19

at the tick tock of like the ending of

38:22

Fallout 4 there's you have You know kind of

38:24

a canonical choice right of between these two groups

38:26

But then the way they interact here makes it

38:28

seem like that didn't happen or maybe they can't

38:30

they they must have won here If they came

38:32

all the way out here because this ship is

38:34

the same ship and it's like and then you

38:37

know Satya not that is what's

38:39

the night? He acts do like he is tightest

38:41

tightest has a Boston accent So then is he

38:43

actually from out there in the Commonwealth and that's

38:45

what that so did the Brotherhood of Steel win

38:47

Is that can't is and then if I think

38:49

they're gonna leave in this something Todd talked a

38:52

little bit about yesterday Right of like they

38:54

don't want to get and they don't want to muddy

38:56

those things for what you made happen I think there's

38:58

obviously a million ways around it right of like oh

39:00

well Whatever you chose is fine because it's you know

39:02

years and years later, right? Yeah, it's 15 years after

39:06

New Vegas and I think they could do

39:08

something where it's like no matter what ending was

39:10

chosen Just Vegas got fucked up

39:12

somehow and we don't know the answer of why

39:15

it'll be cool if they reference mr. House I

39:17

want to see the secure trams which are the big

39:19

rolling robots that we kind of like mr. Handy but

39:21

with the one wheel that you fall in love with

39:24

with mr. Yes, so there's like they have really cool

39:26

one Yeah house in there, right? I mean, he was

39:28

such a big part of New Vegas. It'd

39:30

be sweet. It'd be cool Greg you just slapped

39:32

me some some facts about mr. Mr. House here

39:35

Yeah, Frederick Sinclair is the one I was talking about

39:37

from the fallout DLC and he has the casino He's

39:39

the one only you could lose money on a casino

39:42

or whatever. That's in the reference like fuck. Oh, that's

39:44

awesome They're doing that and then yeah, mr. House. I'm

39:46

reading from a screen right article, right? Mr.

39:48

Robert house founder of Robco Industries Better

39:51

known as mr. House Robert house was the founder

39:53

of Robco industries and a major character in Fallout

39:55

New Vegas Like the ghoul mr.

39:57

House had a life before and after the Great

40:00

war. With the financial and technological resources at

40:02

his disposal as the head of Rob Coe,

40:05

Mr. House was able to ensure he

40:08

survived the apocalypse by preserving his body

40:10

via life support and connecting his consciousness

40:12

to a supercomputer. Later, Mr. House

40:14

founded the New Vegas community and in turn became

40:16

a powerful figure in the wasteland. Because

40:18

of Mr. House's surprise cameo in the finale, the

40:21

door is now open for the character to factor

40:23

heavily into Fallout season 2. New Vegas

40:25

is set to be key location when the

40:27

show returns so it's not impossible that he'll

40:29

appear potentially as an antagonistic role. New

40:56

Vegas is set to be key location when the show returns so it's

40:58

not impossible that it's

41:26

not impossible that he'll appear potentially as an

41:28

antagonistic role. Let's

41:56

focus on the main quest. There's

42:00

a main mission that needs to be solved right now.

42:02

I loved that. He was just like I

42:06

Feel like feel like I would be

42:08

the norm if I was in a vault every

42:11

job He's

42:14

like you're the quagmire can't punish a guy who hates

42:16

all things equally But

42:18

like also I would absolutely hide if we

42:20

were attacked and I would just you know

42:22

I would let people who were more suited to fighting because you

42:25

look at me. I'm scrawny I'm not gonna do it. Yeah, but

42:27

no, I just love the fact that he was not

42:30

even this voice of reason just this curious character

42:32

who was like he was afraid and then he

42:34

just Kind of kind of

42:37

like severance again like severance and Westworld are the two touch

42:39

points that I keep coming back to and I

42:41

think just in terms of those you always have the character

42:43

who is just a little bit afraid a

42:45

little bit Withdrawn doesn't

42:47

anyone engage but it's so overcome

42:49

by curiosity And so I'm rooting

42:52

for him immediately because I am dying to know what's

42:54

happening So every time like norm was on I was

42:56

like, oh my god, okay We're getting some we're getting

42:58

somewhere. I just love the way that he was just

43:01

You know when he's kind of coming up against Betty and

43:03

she's trying to warn him and he kind of is over

43:07

He's defiant but not in like a super overt

43:09

way Yeah, and he's just like no, no, I'm

43:11

gonna get to the bottom of this I'll do

43:13

it my way and then I loved

43:15

it the little relationship that he had with Chet Yeah,

43:18

cuz you're a coward Great

43:21

just like poor Chet ends up like just

43:23

what a himbo character I immediately was so in

43:25

dear to him because he was you know, you

43:27

don't see so in love with his cousin But

43:30

I didn't do it because he just he's such a little

43:32

himbo and he was just Sad

43:35

cuz he lost his job as the gatekeeper and then

43:38

he kind of becomes the defacto Just

43:40

he gets dragged along for the ride with norm

43:43

and just the word that little I love their

43:45

little relationship And

43:47

the fact that yeah norm is the guy who gets to the

43:49

bottom of things and he doesn't have to leave the safety of

43:51

The vault in order to well, he goes into the other vault

43:53

But he doesn't have to go to the surface in order to

43:55

do it. And I just love the way that he

43:58

is the the reasonable

44:00

person because if you look at

44:02

life in a vault it is so weird and

44:05

it's like yeah when people

44:07

are just smiling all the time and just being so

44:09

happy and upbeat and y'all were doing this for the

44:11

future and everything I was like I would get immediately

44:13

freaked out about that it's kind of how I feel

44:15

sometimes about Disney adults sure oh okay

44:17

right yeah I like Disney don't get me wrong I

44:19

love Disneyland

44:24

like she hears the backpedaling sometimes you

44:27

gotta be sad man yeah sometimes Nicki

44:29

Mouse had a bad day. Norma

44:32

took us to some cool places like we

44:34

got into the overseers office which had that

44:36

iconic shot of like the cool background window

44:38

looking down on everything in the main area

44:40

was so cool he did the hacking on

44:42

the commander when we finally thought it was

44:44

like oh my god it's just like the

44:46

game like that was the coolest moment around

44:48

and then going to the other vaults with

44:50

chat and like seeing the destruction and everything's

44:52

dead and like there's some mystery here and

44:54

man nothing was freaky than when they went back and

44:57

everything was cleaned up again and he's looking at chat

44:59

and he's looking back and you're like who did all

45:01

this what are they doing that was

45:03

eerie and fun that was really good part of the

45:05

show. One thing I like about how they revealed like

45:07

the twist of every single overseer being from vault 31

45:09

was you get that information the same way that you

45:11

would get it in the game like you had I

45:13

had to rewind because I was like oh I wasn't

45:15

like paying attention like I need to actually read

45:18

and see that oh every overseer is from

45:20

the same vault that's weird and they don't

45:22

tell you that they expect you to read

45:24

what's going on weird unlock game to

45:26

get that information yeah good cuz what's

45:28

the rhyme it's like something wrong get someone

45:30

from 31 or something yeah and like I love

45:33

that that that's just an ingrained part of

45:35

life in the vault and then when you

45:37

think about it you're like oh that's messed

45:39

up yeah I so like I'm on Greg's

45:42

on Fallout TikTok and I'm like kind of on Fallout Twitter

45:44

it's like keep seeing theories and one of the theories I saw

45:46

that I really like is that now

45:48

that norm is stuck in that like

45:50

vault 31 cryo freeze plays that

45:53

maybe we see him in a future season just

45:55

as a as a mysterious stranger like

45:57

he's like the guy that knows what's going on

46:00

And now he's like in this place where we might not

46:02

see him for a while or like maybe figures out But

46:04

if he appears in fall in like season three or four

46:06

or something and it's just like a random stranger that is

46:08

just helping Out because he knows like whatever the conspiracy is

46:10

I don't know I like I like the idea of him

46:13

coming back in that way well that when things are glum

46:15

vote for 31 That was it that's what one of my

46:17

theories comes in right because we know that the ghoul is

46:19

looking for his family right and She

46:21

was pretty high up is she in 31

46:23

where he would be so now we go all

46:25

the way to New Vegas It's like almost like

46:27

your your wife was working high up with us.

46:29

She's back there I don't think they go

46:31

back and get they make it they go out

46:34

of their way to talk about being it's buds

46:36

buds in There right it's you in your management,

46:38

or you know whatever the training program. Those are

46:40

the people in the assistant It's the the secretary.

46:43

It's like I think she's in the

46:45

higher level vault Well no no and I think she

46:47

took the kid yeah Well the bomb dropped he had

46:49

the kid in his hands like how far did they

46:51

go on that horse? I mean, I think I think

46:53

you're gonna get that flashback right I bet he gets

46:55

to the vault And like she know

46:57

she figures out that that's what he was like

46:59

was Pip boy was no cuz see they're

47:02

already fucked at that point Really? I

47:04

that's my interpretation of it right because

47:06

like he's we never see the fall

47:08

of the marriage We see him find

47:10

out his wife is selling America or

47:12

the world out right, but in our

47:14

introduction to him He's there, and

47:16

they're like how why is this

47:18

former Hollywood star doing this and the

47:20

one guy goes alimony And

47:22

then the other goes the commie will still take my money

47:24

I think between that and

47:26

then flashing back to him finding

47:29

out He confronts her and she

47:31

just she tells vault tech or she

47:33

herself Runs the campaign that he's

47:35

a communist. We're getting divorced it ruins his movie

47:37

career. He can't work in films anymore He does

47:39

these parties and then we get here I've

47:43

never had a moment where I've felt so

47:45

much of like oh, you're straight-up evil with

47:47

her. Yeah. Oh, that was crazy man Yeah,

47:50

I'll do the job of like will

47:52

bomb the world Drop the

47:54

bomb ourselves. Wow so good Like

47:58

yeah do it you know talk to him sense into

48:00

them and she's like, yeah, it's like, the

48:02

bomb, and he's like, that's crazy. Yeah, it

48:04

really is. Also, shout out to the actress

48:06

that plays Betty, who's also Blind Al in

48:08

the Deadpool movies. Ah, yeah. Enjoyed

48:10

her quite a bit, got to see her in a very

48:13

different role that I'm used to seeing her in. Leslie Ughams.

48:17

And then we got another super chat

48:19

from CJ Splits on thing. What can Last of Us

48:21

learn from Fallout? I'm of the

48:23

mind, nothing. I like that both

48:25

can, one can be a straight adaptation for the most

48:27

part and one can be, hey, we're in the world,

48:29

but we're telling our own story. Good, both of those

48:31

things should be able to exist at the level of

48:33

quality that they do. But that's the thing

48:35

though, I like, my favorite episode of The Last of

48:38

Us is the Bill and Frank episode that is not

48:40

the one that is following the game one-to-one. It's

48:42

something which takes place in the world, tells its

48:44

own story, and so you recognize the touch points,

48:46

you know the characters, but you haven't experienced this

48:48

story, I would love to see more of that

48:50

in Last of Us season two, because I've

48:53

played Last of Us many times. I think the show

48:55

is also great, but I think I had a great

48:57

appreciation of Fallout and the world because

49:00

the foundation is so strong that you can just tell all these

49:02

cool stories in it. I think there are

49:04

so many executives and creators right now talking to

49:06

each other about adapting video games into TV shows

49:08

and movies because it's been working so well lately.

49:10

And I think it's not necessarily what Last of

49:12

Us can learn from Fallout, but what everything else

49:14

can learn from Fallout, because I, for me personally,

49:16

I've been more excited about a Fallout TV adaptation

49:18

than I was for The Last of Us adaptation.

49:20

Last of Us adaptation was that thing where you

49:22

always knew it was gonna be good, cool, HBO's

49:24

working on it, it's gonna be fantastic. All right,

49:26

it's Last of Us. I think the thing for

49:29

me of why Fallout's working better for me as

49:31

a fan watching something, maybe not on

49:33

the critical level, I think still Last of Us in

49:35

terms of the Emmy's

49:37

and awards or whatever, is cleaning up,

49:39

right? That's Last of Us'

49:41

bag. I don't think Fallout's gonna have that effect

49:43

necessarily. But I think the thing that works for

49:46

me as a fan is the fact that, oh,

49:48

I'm bought into a lot of these games for

49:50

the worlds. I am bought into something like Fallout

49:52

for the world and the stories that they're telling

49:54

in that world. I think you can adapt a

49:56

math effect. And if you do, tell another story

49:58

in that world. to retread the same thing

50:01

that we've been through. Last West for a TV

50:03

show, I'm enjoying watching because it is the, what,

50:05

the member berries, right? Of like, oh yeah, I

50:07

remember this scene. Oh yeah, this is when all

50:09

the shirts they're wearing. Like I remember all this

50:11

stuff from the, like that's the enjoyment for me

50:13

as a game player, right? But I think that's

50:15

also more for people who haven't played the game

50:17

and want to experience Last West in this way.

50:19

And like maybe just don't, aren't interested in video

50:21

games. Fallout works on all levels where it is

50:23

for me as somebody who plays the game. I

50:25

am so into the show. And I'm sure for

50:27

people who haven't played the game, Sim Geddes are

50:30

still going to be so into the show because it's just

50:32

working on a good show. It's a good show that is

50:34

giving you new content in that world that you love. I

50:36

want to see more of that as opposed to retreading a

50:38

lot of the same story beats that we've already gotten in

50:40

mediums that are similar enough. You know, like Last

50:43

West and like all these games are already cinematic.

50:46

I'm not as interested in the same stories, but

50:48

yeah, something new. I'm way more interested in Amazon.

50:50

If you are making the mass effect show,

50:53

I have ideas. Hit me up. Hit her up. Hit her

50:55

up. I have questions. I have some

50:57

burning questions that I'd like to ask the group

50:59

and some things that I'm looking forward to. Like,

51:02

you know, my can they make this happen questions

51:04

to start off with? Can they make fun and

51:06

suspenseful vault stories just like we saw with 31

51:08

32 and 33? There are

51:10

some very cool vaults in New Vegas in

51:12

the video game itself. It'll be interesting to

51:14

see what they use because when they bring

51:16

up the map, it doesn't look like there

51:18

is six to seven vaults in New Vegas

51:20

area. It looks a little bit less than

51:23

that. So I wonder what they'll do on

51:25

that kind of front. But I want to

51:27

know if they can make another good vault story

51:29

like what we got easy. I think every season

51:31

you get like a vault for type episode where

51:33

it is you explore a new vault and it

51:35

is what is the wacky thing going on here?

51:37

Like what is the weird thing going on? The

51:39

wacky thing was so wacky. The guy

51:43

with the eye in the middle. Yeah. You know, this is

51:45

what all 21 they turn Mr. House turns

51:49

that into a hotel, which is pretty cool.

51:52

Vault 24 was never in the game, but

51:54

there's a jumpsuit that references it, which is

51:57

pretty cool. Thirty four has the big

51:59

radiation and all the weaponry so that will

52:01

be dope I mean there's a lot of

52:03

like really cool ones in there yeah vault

52:06

11 where you have to sacrifice one person

52:08

every single year until it was the final

52:10

five people and they decided to not leave

52:12

the vault and give up and then four

52:15

of them killed themselves but only one survived

52:17

so will we get that person? Probably. Was

52:19

that you? Nuclear winter I'm number one. I'll

52:21

probably screw this up yeah what's the one

52:23

where it's the one woman in

52:26

99 men then there's the 99 women

52:29

and women. That's done. It goes the opposite of how

52:31

you probably thought it would go where it's when it's

52:34

the one woman she becomes queen and like you think

52:36

they what she wants and then when it's the women

52:38

and one man they're just like we don't even need

52:40

the man. They just figure it out on their own.

52:42

The big question I have for all of you is

52:45

so is Cooper Howard the vault boy or

52:47

does he just give him the iconic pose

52:49

of the thumbs up? That's where

52:51

I'm the boss. I don't think he's the actual vault

52:54

boy. I think he's vault boy. My read

52:56

on that was that vault boy already existed yeah

52:59

and then he is like I who plays him

53:01

in the commercial where he does the thumbs up

53:03

and then on the billboard or whatever. But

53:06

it could go the other way because he does have

53:08

the billboard poster but I felt

53:10

like I'm a little hazy with the years

53:13

obviously too. He's so iconic in his vault

53:15

boy but I feel like he would have

53:17

had to have predated Cooper. Because

53:19

they gave him the suit and she was like well it's blue

53:21

and yellow for you and you're right he's starting this then he

53:24

does the pose so it's like he made

53:28

the thumbs up by yeah that was the thing and

53:31

the colors are definitely him too. So it's like okay

53:33

well vault boys now probably just inspired by him. I

53:35

don't know if like he is he is vault

53:39

boy but I think but he would have to

53:41

be. He nails it with the two colors right this is probably

53:44

so early in the vault tech thing. I guess the main

53:46

difference is he's not blonde. Yeah yeah

53:48

but like it would be interesting if especially

53:50

because we know that his relationship with his

53:52

wife like definitely deteriorates and he gets out

53:54

as a communist. Like what if he was

53:56

supposed like what if he was supposed to

53:58

be a black man. They're supposed to base

54:01

vault boy on him and then because My

54:04

read was that he was inspiration, but like it's

54:06

not he isn't necessarily playing while boy in the

54:08

commercial But that's what I'm saying is like maybe

54:11

that you know what they turned ball boy to

54:13

be maybe originally They were gonna make ball boy

54:15

after him, but then all this stuff comes

54:17

out of him You know not really

54:19

trusting vault tech and being out of this a commie

54:21

and all this shit And then they get a different

54:23

actor. Okay cammie a blonde I

54:27

Love the the outfits like

54:29

they look so good I want one and

54:31

it's like the translation from like just the

54:33

cartoon vault boy that I've always seen to

54:36

the live-action version I was like damn This

54:38

is very very impressive costume design and again

54:40

the vault production design is so good and

54:42

like it just it's claustrophobic in all the

54:45

right ways and even Episode

54:47

one where you kind of see the

54:49

like projected fields in the sky. It's

54:51

like man This is like such a

54:53

great eerie ass place to

54:55

be and I loved getting out of

54:57

it all that I just feel like they did

54:59

such a great job with the world building through

55:01

production design stuff that It

55:03

the games world finally makes sense to me,

55:05

and I think that's very cool Do you

55:08

guys watch silo on Apple TV?

55:10

I'm gonna be a good chaser for

55:12

this. It's um Rebecca Ferguson and

55:15

it's very fallout they live in a giant

55:17

silo under the ground and They

55:20

are told that they can never go outside

55:22

for some weird reason and it's it's very

55:24

ten ups I think is okay amazing Apple

55:26

TV like I watch that I think and severance and

55:28

bad sisters in one go Absolutely,

55:32

these were thought man, but silo is probably a good

55:34

chase ever see blast from the past One

55:43

day was not doesn't age well Cloverfield

55:46

Lane good one Until

55:49

the last 10 minutes yeah everything room Room

55:53

all room. I forget which one you know

55:57

Fucking room you know what I mean that moves

55:59

incredible Greg you have a little

56:01

section you wanted to do here called the follies where

56:03

we give a little award Now

56:06

you talk about anything right just to kind

56:08

of roll this out in the final couple

56:10

minutes of this spoiler cast here Super chat

56:12

so you can answer Yeah, super jazz feel

56:15

free to write in if you have an

56:17

MVP of the show a favorite twist favorite

56:19

fight or a favorite game Reference, let's go

56:21

with favorite game reference. Any pops y'all's mind

56:24

For me, I the sim packs your throw it

56:26

out, but it's it's more I paused

56:28

the show when we

56:31

have the scene between Lucy

56:34

the cogs were the Stoners

56:36

who are running the drug trade there or whatever where I

56:39

had a pause it and be like Jen doesn't play in

56:41

I'm like Jen you understand that

56:43

is the blood bag from the game that you

56:45

get and use and I know I've already talked

56:47

With this impact with the practice is like

56:49

just the set design They did there looks like

56:52

level design where it is like there's

56:54

stuff there But it's not a million different

56:56

things like it would be I think in

56:58

a real like flophouse or whatever But it's

57:00

filthy in the exact way all the interiors

57:02

are fallouts are filthy and it's got the

57:04

exact props And I was just like this

57:06

is so crazy This is so the game

57:08

come to life let alone as we were

57:10

talking earlier Her then having or

57:12

is DJ kinto brought up that you can see

57:14

the dialogue choices You see them asking to make

57:16

choices the bartering for the thing now. What do

57:18

you do? All right, the rules are coming. It's

57:20

like damn. This is impressive. I really

57:22

liked The ghoul

57:24

going into vets in episode was episode two

57:27

when he had the shootout in Philly Which

57:29

was very confusing for me because I don't

57:31

know why you call this place Philly I

57:34

think it's cuz in the landfill, but I came into work the

57:36

next day and I was like Mike are they in California

57:38

I'm confused that's up. They said Philadelphia turns

57:41

out Phillies at the place but

57:43

yeah like when they get to

57:45

the shootout and you have the slow motion and you're

57:47

following the bullets and it's like Taking people

57:49

out like and you see the body parts and

57:51

fucking exploding and shit That was so cool. Yeah

57:55

That's my favorite. Yeah, Mike you got

57:57

why like red rocket gas station. I mean that is

57:59

just one that's been through all of

58:01

them but that Fallout 4 how early that

58:03

is when you come across Red

58:06

Rocket and the paint on the side of it and

58:08

then how they put it in the show it's like

58:10

oh my god this is so cool and then yes

58:12

dog meat but it's not dog meat but they call

58:14

it dog meat it's like it's so cute right it's

58:16

like that's perfect so yeah those are my favorites. Great

58:19

you already mentioned this one but for me I

58:21

just loved the line of him being like don't

58:23

get distracted out there by the side but that's

58:25

so cool. The war never changes drop was really

58:27

good too. Yeah yeah yeah. I didn't expect it

58:29

to come from her. Yeah. Favorite

58:34

twist I mean I'm just like the last episode

58:36

to be I just thought they did such a

58:38

good job of putting everything together but having all

58:40

three main storylines kind of connect the way that

58:42

it did like that was so satisfying and just

58:45

like such a great end to the season like

58:47

it was awesome.

58:49

Yeah I just think like seeing

58:52

what was in 31 I think that was a really

58:54

satisfying result from that one because yeah they

58:56

built it up so cleverly the way they doled it

58:58

out that cliffhanger at the end of like the Penultimate

59:00

episode. Yeah

59:03

I mean twists I would say it was for me

59:05

the Betty reveal flash Hank reveal but I give it

59:07

even more to Betty of like how do you think

59:09

we were doing it at the time and they have

59:12

the little stupid thing of Bud constantly

59:14

interrupting Walton Goggins with this dumb idea and you're

59:16

just like shut the fuck up why are you

59:18

doing it and it's like oh that actually happens

59:20

that actually gets off the ground and leads to

59:22

all that that's incredible and amazing right. Yeah. You're

59:24

talking about lines I thought you're going a different way I

59:26

tweeted about it when

59:28

they finished the flashback of

59:31

Walton Goggins you know getting to the bottom of

59:33

this and not the one where he actually figures it

59:35

out but where he's at home or whatever and then

59:38

it's him and dog meat and he says sorry

59:41

dog meat you're just not him. Oh

59:43

do you know what I mean break my heart

59:45

this day you know what I mean. Yeah. Holy shit

59:47

that one was too close to home. Yeah. Again that's

59:49

what the show can do right I'm

59:53

so bought into these characters and the journey of

59:55

the ghoul right that I can fucking do that.

59:57

Oh fuck I feel it's too real. Uh,

1:00:00

Slushie says, the mom is a ghoul sock.

1:00:02

Yeah. Yeah. Oh my god. Yeah, it

1:00:04

was all coming. If two of you walked in, I was

1:00:06

like, oh, that's her. That's cool. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Uh,

1:00:09

and then DJ Kendall says, the ghoul 100% has the

1:00:12

bloody mess perk. Oh.

1:00:15

What kind of bloody mess? That's the one where you explode

1:00:17

everybody and everything, right? Fun.

1:00:19

Because, yeah, that's it. Because that's where you get

1:00:21

the usual vats exploding the eye coming out. My

1:00:23

favorite twist might be seeing the overseer of Vault

1:00:26

31, it being like this little robot. Oh,

1:00:28

it was so funny. Yeah. I

1:00:30

like four. Come here, I have to inject you.

1:00:32

I like four, like having the realization that they

1:00:34

were testing on people and what was going on.

1:00:36

And then now four of what they're trying to

1:00:39

do and setting things right. That was really like,

1:00:41

at first, like blessing said, the cliffhanger of like,

1:00:43

oh, shit, there's some freaky stuff going on here.

1:00:45

To them, you leave that going, oh, like, those

1:00:47

are just some decent people just trying to, you

1:00:49

know. The

1:00:52

Vault for overseer dude,

1:00:54

or I guess this is the, I guess technically he's

1:00:56

not the overseer, but the leader, the guy with the one eye. Him

1:00:59

being like a kind of like a racist comedian

1:01:01

guy, got a character. And having like,

1:01:03

like making the jokes and being like, oh, that's funny.

1:01:05

I don't know why they don't think it's funny. That

1:01:07

killed me. That's fucking funny, dude. When

1:01:09

they left and he had the core with them, and

1:01:11

Lucy looked at him, it was like, you got to

1:01:14

give it back. And he's like, really? And then like,

1:01:16

they have the one where they drop it through. And

1:01:18

they're like, duh. They're like, that was a great moment.

1:01:20

That was awesome. Yeah, that entire thing was great. Oh,

1:01:22

the care package where they banish her too. Scoopy

1:01:24

makes the jest. He grabs the nuka-cola machine, just

1:01:27

throws it. Like, chill, chill. Yes,

1:01:30

someone will take it to the surface for you. I really

1:01:32

love that line. Any

1:01:35

favorite fights you guys want to talk about? I

1:01:39

think the fights weren't my, the action in this

1:01:41

show wasn't what I was here for. Yeah,

1:01:44

I agree with that. But I still appreciated the

1:01:46

one we just talked about, if you have Maximus

1:01:48

interrupting the banishment ceremony and fucking shit up there.

1:01:50

And then even though it's not technically a fight

1:01:52

or whatever, when it is

1:01:56

Night Titus, the original Night Titus, right? When he's

1:01:58

running from the bear. Fuck, fuck, fuck. I'm looking

1:02:00

at it again, but it's more on a moment. I'm like, that's fun, this is cool.

1:02:03

Sorry, go ahead. I'll say I like the tension of, I

1:02:05

think it was Lucy and Maximus crossing the bridge

1:02:08

and there were two other people that

1:02:10

were crossing the bridge at the same time. The tension

1:02:12

of that and waiting for shit to go down. That

1:02:15

was a good one. I don't think anything

1:02:17

topped the first episode for me because I

1:02:19

think it encapsulated the opening of a

1:02:21

video game for Fallout so well, just

1:02:24

like shit hitting the fan and just

1:02:26

like that entire sequence of people getting

1:02:28

stabbed in the eye with forks and

1:02:30

just like how insane people can become

1:02:32

when their life is threatened, which

1:02:35

we see with all the vault dwellers in the first

1:02:37

episode, I thought was really, really good. Gotta

1:02:39

be the finale with the LA officer,

1:02:41

the observatory, whatever, and like seeing of

1:02:43

course the Brotherhood of Steel come in

1:02:46

with all of the birds flying in

1:02:48

and then Moldova and her group fighting

1:02:50

off. Like that was a really cool

1:02:52

scene, I liked that a lot. And

1:02:55

then here we go to close this out. MVP of

1:02:57

the show. I'm a star of

1:02:59

the easy thing in the world, the ghoul

1:03:01

baby. He's so freaking awesome. Anytime he was

1:03:04

on screen, I was captivated. I can't believe

1:03:06

that this season ended with him and Lucy

1:03:08

going off on an adventure. I'm like, that's

1:03:10

exactly what I want from a season two. Let's

1:03:12

go. Sam is the ghoul. I think he's easily

1:03:14

the best character in the show. Wollongog just always

1:03:16

playing that character. To

1:03:18

give someone different, like I love the doctor,

1:03:21

just how kind of he had

1:03:23

the, he was kind of doing the right thing. He

1:03:25

was working for the Enclave. He was doing all these

1:03:27

experiments and then he kind of realized that he was

1:03:29

the bad guy. And so took the dog, kept

1:03:32

it safe and made, you know, and then just kind

1:03:34

of was like sacrificing himself. Well, he was dying, but

1:03:36

he was like, you know, take my head, find

1:03:39

your dad. Kind of did the right thing in death.

1:03:41

And, you know, wasn't the Michael Emerson.

1:03:44

Yeah, I mean, obviously Wollongog is killed in it.

1:03:46

It is amazing. I would, since for differences, right?

1:03:48

I would toss out Lucy, I would toss out

1:03:50

Ella Purnell. I thought her performance was amazing. And

1:03:52

again, like she's, I

1:03:55

think when you watch her on screen, I find her

1:03:57

captivating, right? She has these huge eyes and I think

1:03:59

it worked. so well for the

1:04:01

visual storytelling of this naive girl who

1:04:03

only knows the vault and assumes everything's

1:04:05

gonna be okey-dokey outside but also then

1:04:07

the little things that set it off

1:04:09

of like, oh right the vault is a fucked up place

1:04:11

and weird of like, she's been trying stuff with her cousin

1:04:13

right but she's excited to do this and what's your sperm

1:04:16

count and they fuck right oh and it's just like, oh

1:04:18

shit like, she has been bred

1:04:20

for a purpose here and that's what's happening to

1:04:23

then get her out and have her lose

1:04:25

those ideals but kind of keep them as well right

1:04:27

when she gives the ghoul to medicine she's like, i

1:04:29

make look like you one day but i'll never beat

1:04:31

you it's like, that's a fun take and a cool

1:04:34

thing and then even at the end obviously drawing the

1:04:36

gun on what you think is the ghoul but then

1:04:38

turning and shooting her mom right like, really putting her

1:04:40

past to arrest and go off on this adventure she

1:04:42

was incredible and i think bless was saying this earlier

1:04:44

but it's like the her being this like kind of

1:04:46

archetype of just being like goody two shoes shit it's

1:04:49

like i feel like that's such an easy way for

1:04:51

me to be like i don't care about you i don't believe

1:04:53

in you as a character like that's just like too, too

1:04:55

far of a stretch for me to believe someone

1:04:57

that way but because of the world and how

1:05:00

they set it up in her acting i was

1:05:02

like i'm so invested in you as a character

1:05:04

i believe in this and it doesn't feel corny

1:05:06

it feels, i like i'm very

1:05:08

sympathetic towards her because it's like all man like that

1:05:10

unfortunate that that's the life that you live in very

1:05:12

believable so yeah shout out to her for sure but

1:05:14

my take i like going last cuz i get to

1:05:17

throw out the ones that we didn't say and so

1:05:19

i'm gonna give love to norm and how

1:05:21

he carried that story in the ball i wanna give

1:05:23

love to the, overseers that wanted

1:05:25

to be which was a sack with woody

1:05:27

and red those two were so funny try

1:05:29

to go up against betty that was awesome

1:05:32

so shout out to those guys over there

1:05:34

and when the one dude like i didn't

1:05:36

vote for you it's okay to keep it

1:05:38

over and waiting i put a pen post.

1:05:42

I'm going right and like those guys really carried that

1:05:44

and then shout out to matt berry who just came

1:05:46

in out of nowhere as mr handy giving up his

1:05:48

voice and like how much you get paid for that

1:05:50

like $5000 he goes that was kind of cheap right.

1:05:54

Super funny and so yeah there was some great

1:05:56

ones all around yeah really

1:05:58

cool stuff thank you all for. hanging out

1:06:00

with us today. Lucy, thank you for coming through today. Thanks Lucy!
