In this podcast, H.G. Radhakant Damodar Das Prabhu will help in awaking us from materialistic life by propagating the consciousness of Krishna as it is revealed in the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.

This is a live recording by Radhakant Prabhu. In this episode he is discussing What is freedom? Is it the freedom which we got in 1947 or is it something else. Radhakant Prabhu describes it by telling various life stories in which people tried to get freedom in a manner they want to but at the end got something else.

The one who actually controls our freedom is our almighty god, the lord Krishna. He talks about three lesson from Bhagwad Geeta.  These three gunas are called: sattva (goodness, constructive, harmonious), rajas (passion, active, confused), and tamas (darkness, destructive, chaotic). All of these three gunas are present in everyone and everything, it is the proportion that is different, according to Hindu worldview. The interplay of these gunas defines the character of someone or something, of nature and determines the progress of life.

Sattva is the quality of goodness, positivity, truth, serenity, balance, peacefulness, and virtuousness that is drawn towards Dharma and Jnana (knowledge). For spiritual progress in this Age of Kali, there is no alternative, there is no alternative, there is no alternative to the holy name, the holy name, the holy name of the Lord.' For progress in spiritual life, the śāstras recommend meditation in Satya-yuga, sacrifice for the satisfaction of Lord Viṣṇu in Tretā-yuga and gorgeous worship of the Lord in the temple in Dvāpara-yuga, but in the Age of Kali one can achieve spiritual progress only by chanting the holy name of the Lord.
