Utah is the youngest state in the nation by median age, but a new report from the U.S. Census Bureau shows young voters in Utah didn’t turn out to vote in the 2022 midterm elections. But in the 2022 midterms here in Utah, young adults between 18 and 29 accounted for just 12% of the voters, meaning young voters in the state were underrepresented by 13.9% – the biggest gap in the nation. Why is that? What obstacles do young people have to get to the ballot boxes? The KSL at Night hosts discuss these questions and more.
