The primary election for the San Diego County Board of Supervisors will take place this June, and people have begun announcing their candidacy. Chair Nathan Fletcher, who represents District 4, will be running for re-election in the face of growing opposition that have come together through community led groups. Fletcher's role in pushing Governor Newsom's COVID-19 mandates over the past two years have drawn outrage from the community. Fletcher never criticized Newsom's policies, and still hasn't stood up for our children who are forced to wear masks all day at school Amid the lockdowns, Amy Reichert and others formed the group, ReOpen San Diego, to fight back against what they call "tyrannical" policies that Fletcher was implementing on San Diegans. Now, Amy Reichert has announced her candidacy to replace Fletcher and become District 4's next San Diego County Supervisor.
