Steve and Roger take on a very controversial and often emotional issue that pervades not just lacrosse but other youth sports and trickles into all aspects of life - that a disproportionate number of Generation X parents relative to past generations put their own feelings and the feelings of their children above accountability and the drive for self-accomplishment through talent, imagination, and work ethic.  This has resulted in an era of participation trophies and coaches being demonized, even on competitive travel teams, when players may not get the playing time Mom or Dad think they deserve (or are entitled to).

This episode speaks to the very heart of the future of not only sport, but the future of our nation as the children we raise will one day be responsible for running our country and raising the next generation of human beings.  It was inspired by a real incident that Roger experienced this week as a coach that affected him deeply and Steve provides an excellent perspective on not only Coach Roger's experience, but how it is a symptom of a much greater issue that many would argue is a serious societal problem.
