New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Hazardous Weather Outlook. This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of southwest Lower Michigan. Day one. Today and Tonight. Locally heavy rainfall is possible late this afternoon and tonight. Flooding could occur, especially if heavy rain develops over the same areas which flooded last Thursday. An isolated severe thunderstorm with damaging winds is also possible this evening, south and west of a line from Holland to Kalamazoo. Days two through seven. Monday through Saturday. Locally heavy rainfall will remain possible on Monday. A marginal risk of severe weather with damaging winds exists, mainly near and east of a Battle Creek to Lansing line. Spotter information statement. Spotter activation may be needed late this afternoon and evening, then again and Monday afternoon.

Flood Statement. The Flood Warning has been cancelled for the following river in Southwest Lower Michigan. Looking Glass River Near Eagle affecting Clinton County. The flood warning continues for the following rivers in Southwest Lower Michigan. Sycamore Creek At Holt affecting Ingham County Portage River Near Vicksburg affecting Kalamazoo County. Several inches of rain fell across the river basin Wednesday afternoon and again Thursday morning, so minor flooding continues for the Portage River near Vicksburg and Sycamore Creek at Holt. River levels have subsided below flood stage for the Looking Glass River near Eagle. No significant rainfall is expected in the next 24 hours. The following forecast is based on observed and forecast 24 hour precipitation. Precautionary/preparedness actions. Safety message. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet. and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk. swim. or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters. stop. turn around and go another way. This warning will be in effect until the river falls below its flood stage. Additional weather and river information can be found on our homepage at www dot weather dot gov slash grr. The Flood Warning continues for the Sycamore Creek At Holt until Sunday afternoon. Flood stage is 8. Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast. Forecast, the river will continue to fall below flood stage by this evening. Expect minor flooding of low lying areas adjacent to the river, in the Lansing Municipal Golf Course and sections of East Mt. Hope Road. Flood history, this crest compares to a previous crest of 8.
