RATING
Maybe my favorite offering from QCode - a story that hangs together better than Borrasca and Sound Design that aids the storytelling better than The Left Right Game. Last Known Position makes a high-thrill ride out of an interesting concept and a cast of duplicitous characters that leaves you wondering who are the good guys and who, if anybody, is gonna survive this damn trip. Excellent casting, stellar performances (when they've got something interesting to say...) top-notch sound design and great music combine to tell a tense story of grief, revenge and the high seas. It's Moby Dick for Lovecraft fans. Heads up tho - Episode One has the show's weakest writing, so you have to fight thru that, but by the end of the second episode, Last Known Position is clipping along under a full sail with a strong wind.
Enjoying this, its top quality.
Absolutely superb.
Thee story is sufficiently interesting to keep you listening. Acting and sound design is good (but not used correctly). Writing is a bit basic though, much telling (instead of showing), saying what is happening so we can "see" what is going on. Ending is a bit incoherent and detached from the rest of the series. That, plus the annoying adverts every 12 mins or so (QCode), bring me out of the story throughout the miniseries. I generally love QCode productions, but this one did not tickle my fancy.
The show had a potential to an ok Moby dick ripoff, but the dialogues between Mikaela and William hit so hard to the feels that I did not notice when tears started flowing.
Another amazing QCODE thriller!
4.5 Stars. So many twists. I love that the story kept pulling the rug out from under the listener. The surround sound mix and voice acting here are among the best in audio drama podcast.
I've been on a "monsters from the deep" kick recently, and SPOILER!—This one is top-notch. The storyline is great, and the acting and sound design really bring the script to life. Not that I want giant monsters from the deep to come alive, but you take my meaning.
Intriguing podcast - looking forward to learning what's really going on - although it's a bit slow in places.Have to say, as a Norwegian, I cringe at the bad fake Norwegian accent.
A mysterious, investigative tale from QCode which successfully keeps the listener following on for the truth. The lack of clarity about the possibility of a second season - as is, sadly, often the norm for the studio - is frustrating. Eventually people are recognising that QCode may well fail to follow up on shows they enjoy and give up checking out new releases.
A gripping tale of peril on the sea, very well acted, well paced, and with great sound quality. Recommended.
Really enjoyed this podcast. A great example of sound enhancing the story but not relying on sound to tell the entire story. They left quite a cliffhanger, I'm looking forward to season 2!
