In the Old Testament Scriptures there is a pattern that emerges whenever God's people would fall away and disobey His word - this falling away or what we call "Apostasy," usually brought consequences of divine judgment. However, the Lord so much loved His children that He radically pursued them and would raise up prophets to call His beloved people back to repentance. When they repented, revival, restoration & renewal would always follow. The same applies to the church in our generation. The Apostle Paul warned of a Great Apostasy in the Last Days before Jesus return - we must repent and turn back to the Lord and there will be "seasons of refreshing from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19).
