The process for becoming a lawyer in the Royal Navy is unique. Distinct from the other military services, even if a student is qualified, they must first serve in a core naval role before they can go through legal selection.

In this episode, Ellie is joined by Piers Benton. A Royal Navy Logistics Officer, Piers is currently studying the Postgraduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law in order to become a Naval Barrister.

Piers details his unique journey into the legal world to date, offering advice on the application processes throughout. Further, Piers gives us insights into his expectations of what working as a naval lawyer will entail.
