On this week’s Leading from Your Core Podcast and Vodcast, Obi Abuchi interviews Nathan John.

Nathan John is a Corporate Banker and Social Entrepreneur based in Dubai.

Over his 19 years in banking, Nathan has developed expertise in Transaction Banking, solution delivery

and developing relationships, having worked for some of the world’s leading companies such as Barclays,

J.P. Morgan, Ernst & Young and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank.

In March 2007, he founded Youth Enlightenment Limited (Y-E-L), which is a social enterprise committed

to providing inspiration and empowerment to young people. Nathan served as an Advisor to the Stephen

Lawrence Review, chaired by Dr Richard Stone and was a Community Cohesion Advisor to the former

Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock. He also contributed to the former Mayor of London, Bori Johnson's

'Time for Action' youth strategy and was a member of the NPIA's

He has spoken virtually in addition to various places in Dubai, London and Paris. Such as the Mayor’s

Office, Barclays HQ, colleges, schools and a prison. Nathan has also been interviewed over 150 times on

BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky News, LBC, The Guardian plus more.

Nathan has met Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his contributions

and won a Barclays Citizenship award.

His leadership, strategic and communication skills have allowed him to be

successful both in the UK and UAE.
