Emily Smith, President/Director of Therapeutic Language Clinic, Inc (TLC), is a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist with almost 25 years of experience working with students with disabilities.  She strives to enhance confidence in, and awareness of, communication in all its various forms through the use of heartfelt, holistic, family-centered approaches.   TLC is like its a symbol, the lotus.  Rising high above the muddy waters into which it was born, TLC was created in response to the sudden loss of a beloved clinic where Emily had worked for years as an SLP with office manager Maria Escobedo and a small team of amazingly talented and dedicated therapists.  Rather than accepting defeat when the owner had to move away, the group of women banded together to build a new clinic in the same town within a few months so they could continue to support the community as a team.  Four and half years later, the original team continues to work and train together, having molded their clinic into a community support space seeping with wisdom, compassion, and hope for all."
