In this episode of Let's Talk Emily, Noel, Urja, and Alissa delve into what stigma is and how being involved in the criminal justice system can stigmatize individuals into the margins of society. We talk about how individuals who have been justice-involved feel stigma impacts them and why there is a need to change the narrative. We also discuss how an individual can be stigmatized in multiple areas of their life with a focus on how mental health is stigmatized and how that interacts with the stigma associated with bein justice-involved.
