We explain how market analysts have calculated the total cost of ownership so far, and talk about two other ways to think about the cost and benefit of owning electric vehicles --  the usage experience (do both technologies offer the same benefit and therefore require equal cost, or is one of them superior and it would thereby be justified to have higher cost?), and the potential monetary effects when you include the social cost of carbon.
