A finales de los 50, un psiquiatra llamado Milton Rockeach, hizo uno de los experimentos más curiosos sobre la identidad. Tres internos en el hospital de Ypsilanti que creían que eran Jesucristo fueron puestos en el mismo cuarto para enfrentar sus delirios por casi 2 años. Los resultados arrojados por el experimento, no curaron a los internos, pero enseñaron mucho sobre el constructo de la personalidad.
