During his research, Tim discovered that in 2014, Leicester-based lad rockers Kasabian played a gig in Glasgow where an apparent "production error" led to the statement "London is full of c*****" being displayed as a backdrop, providing a hilarious discussion point for the start of this episode. 5 years before, the band released their third album "West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum" which combined their well-established blend of rock, hip hop and dance with 19th century creepy horror and revolutionary themes. Unlike their previous effort "Empire", they took their time making this album, hired a hip-hop producer to help capture the right sound and ultimately wanted to create a concept album inspired by an actual lunatic asylum of the same name. In this episode, Tim and Ollie dive into the story of the band and the album to answer the questions of whether it can be considered a concept album and if Kasabian can be called "lad rock".
