This week I wanted to get someone on the show who always has a great perspective on life, this is the second time we have had Dennis on the show, in our first episode we talk about his ethos around “Live to give” and in this episode we are talk about the struggles we are all facing during this pandemic.

For those that haven’t listened to that episode I encourage you to do so, Dennis Armfield is a retired AFL cult figure but he is more than that, he is a genuine nice guy and is currently the General Manager at Business Fight Club, a fantastic organisation focussed on helping all of us develop greater mental health and they have just launched an online program called Reboot I definitely recommend you check this out.

For me personally, I believe this is one giant moment of reflection. It is really difficult to find the positives and in no way do I want to be overly optimistic and minimise what is happening and what is coming, but I choose to focus on what I can control and the actions I can take.

I look around and I see kindness, empathy and compassion breaking through the mist of the negative news cycle. I see Mark Cuban on LinkedIn spending hours one on one with small business owners offering priceless business advice, I see artists like James Bay and others doing live concerts in their living rooms, the emergence of zoom and Skype social catch ups. If I have learnt anything in this - humans crave connection and it boils down to this.
