Word of the Week: Forgiveness

Forgiveness actually relives the soul of pent-up pressure. It’s not about the person who wronged you – it’s about you, and your healthy mind, body and soul. It’s about healing and achieving our own potential, people!

Last week we discussed the brain dump and the life assessment and we were promised by David G. that he would implement these strategies into his life and report back how it changed (or didn’t change) his life and if it’s something that is worth doing. We’re happy to report he actually did what he said he was going to do and so far, it’s been a resounding success.

David G’s brain dump was then graded on a 10-point scale (10 being best). What a stress relieving activity to simply write all this stuff down. Dare we say liberating?

But you have to start working on that list and getting things done.

07:24 – The next step is… prioritize the list of ‘brain dumped’ items, and then plan your next step

09:08 – Stop prioritizing easy. Start with the hard stuff at the beginning of the day. We talked about quick wins, but don’t make your whole morning or day just doing easy tasks. One quick win to get your blood flowing then do something you’ve put off or gives you anxiety. Get it done first and feel that sense of accomplishment, the weight lifted and feel like you can do anything.

13:58 – Pick three things you need to do that would really move you forward, get you closer to that goal, weighing heavily on your mind. And remember you don’t have to finish the hard tasks today. Just do an hour into a hard project to make progress. Don’t be intimidated by finishing a task – just make progress on it.

18:39 – Stop prioritizing false emergencies. Stop replying to texts or phone calls that don’t need immediate attention. Say no to requests from people. Don’t just commit to something without giving it serious thought. Do you really have time for this? It might be difficult but the best thing you can do for people is live your best self. Except for your family, other people’s problems aren’t your problems.

18:51 – Prioritize freedom. Include down time in your day. Make it a priority to take time out to quiet your mind, step away from whatever you are working on. Take a walk, meditate

19:05 – David G. has an amazing story about the DMV where he embodied what we learned from the “Avoid Meltdowns” Show. Check this bad boy out!
