The most important question you may

0:03

ever ask is this. Who

0:06

is Jesus? Not who people say

0:08

He is, but who did

0:10

He say He was? Who

0:13

did He claim to be? And

0:15

why does it matter? Brand new series.

0:17

Stick around. Welcome

0:22

to this edition of Living on

0:24

the Edge with Chipping Room. Living

0:26

on the Edge is an international

0:29

teaching and discipleship ministry focused on

0:31

helping Christians live like Christians. As

0:34

many of you know, Chip's our regular Bible teacher

0:36

for this daily program. But for

0:38

this new series, he's sharing the mic with

0:40

his son, Ryan Ingram. Ryan is the lead

0:42

pastor at Awakening Church in San Jose, California.

0:45

In the coming handful of programs,

0:47

they'll walk through the gospel of

0:49

John, identifying seven key places where

0:51

Jesus described Himself and explaining

0:53

what these I Am statements reveal to

0:55

us about Christ. But before

0:57

we get going, to help you get

0:59

the most out of this series, download

1:02

our message notes. Now, they contain an

1:04

easy to follow outline, scripture references, and

1:06

more. Get them under

1:14

with that, let's join Ryan as he launches

1:16

our series, Jesus Is, with his message, The

1:18

Bread of Life. Go in

1:20

your Bible to John chapter six. I

1:24

first met my wife, Jenny.

1:26

Her name's Jenny. And I first met

1:29

her at a college hang, not too dissimilar

1:31

to what we're having tonight at our house.

1:34

So college students, you... You

1:38

never know. I

1:42

remember it like it was yesterday. It

1:45

was a Hawaiian luau theme, and it was

1:47

a potluck style at our church. And

1:50

she showed up with pineapple fried

1:52

rice that was actually, she

1:55

had it in the bowl used as the

1:57

pineapple. The pineapple was the bowl hollowed out.

1:59

I mean, crazy. creative, right? And

2:02

I remember seeing this beautiful blonde by the

2:04

food table dropping off this pineapple fried rice

2:06

and I'm like, I got to talk to

2:09

her. You know, I made a

2:11

beeline at two things I love, her and food.

2:13

And so this right next to each other, we

2:16

stayed by that food table the

2:18

entire time and talked. I don't

2:20

remember anything else about the luau

2:23

except for talking to her and

2:25

pineapple fried rice. That's it. And

2:28

now here's the problem is when we were

2:30

dating or at least met, this was in

2:32

the season where you didn't have

2:34

really cell phones. There was no

2:36

social media, Instagram, Facebook, Myspace, Napster

2:39

wasn't even around yet, you know, and I made

2:41

a critical error. I didn't get her phone number.

2:44

Yeah, yeah. And

2:48

I really wanted to know who this

2:50

girl is. You know, I met her

2:52

Jenny Ekkergren was her last name. And

2:55

so I began to ask all these

2:57

friends and I'm like, dude, this girl,

2:59

she's amazing. She's beautiful. Like, do you

3:01

know anything about her? And I

3:03

asked guys, which was probably the wrong way to

3:06

do it because all of the other guys had

3:08

crushes on her as well. They're like, yeah, she's

3:10

amazing. But I wanted to get to know her.

3:13

And one night is over the summer, I was

3:15

leading worship for the high school ministry at the

3:17

time. And again, remember no cell phones or

3:19

anything like this. We had high school students

3:21

show up on Saturday night. We had Saturday

3:23

evening services and they would show up and

3:26

we had rehearsed for Sunday morning high school

3:29

group. And they showed up

3:31

and then Jenny came kind of after church

3:33

with some friends. She said, hey, some of

3:35

our friends are going bowling tonight. I was

3:37

like, uh-huh, would you want to come? Uh-huh.

3:41

And so I did what every responsible 19

3:43

year old would do. I turned to that

3:45

group of high schoolers and said, practice is

3:47

canceled. The

3:50

spirit will move. And

3:54

I look back on that. They didn't have cell phones.

3:56

How did they get home? Like, what a terrible person.

4:01

But it was a great night. It was a great night. And

4:04

so we went bowling. And you know when it's

4:07

with friends, you don't really get to know the

4:10

person very well. And then after that, just

4:12

her and I went out to Java Junction

4:14

Coffee in Santa Cruz. It's still there. You

4:16

can go there. So we sat there until

4:19

it closed. And

4:21

I just got to know

4:23

this girl who

4:25

eventually became my wife. And

4:28

just with this driving question throughout the

4:30

summer, it just was like, I want

4:32

to know you. Like,

4:34

there's something about you I want to know.

4:37

And I kept asking, who is this girl?

4:40

Like, there's something there. You

4:43

know, at the very beginning, we said for us

4:45

as a church, in fact, it feels almost silly

4:47

to say, like what we want

4:49

to do as a church. It feels silly because like

4:52

this is what the church is. This is what we

4:54

as followers of Jesus are. So

4:57

this is what we're going to be about, that

4:59

we really, really want to know Jesus. Like

5:02

not just know about him, no information

5:04

about him, but like personally, intimately, transformatively

5:09

know him. Like

5:11

fall more in love

5:13

with him. And

5:15

get to know him in such a way that we

5:19

just begin to do the kinds

5:21

of things that he would do if he

5:24

were here with us. You

5:28

know, I actually think every

5:31

single person on the

5:33

planet should ask, who is Jesus? Like

5:37

who is he really? I

5:40

actually think if you have any intellectual

5:42

integrity, you have to ask

5:45

that question. Who

5:48

is this man that literally

5:50

divided history that is still

5:53

intriguing, compelling to us to

5:55

this day? Who is the

5:57

person, this man, that was?

6:00

this carpenter turned rabbi

6:02

who lived in a very obscure part

6:05

of the Roman Empire eventually was executed

6:07

by the Empire itself and yet 2,000

6:09

years later we're talking

6:13

about him and billions of

6:15

people gathering around the world

6:17

because of him. Like

6:19

at some point you

6:22

have to ask who is

6:25

this man? Now

6:28

I think even a better question, maybe

6:32

even a more important question, is

6:36

who does Jesus say that he is?

6:39

Like not just who do we think he is and

6:42

we all have some ideas and like oh my I

6:44

have this and but who

6:46

does Jesus say that he

6:48

actually is? You know

6:52

in John's gospel there's four gospels by

6:54

the way Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

6:56

They're all telling the

6:58

life of Jesus from different

7:00

perspectives. In fact Matthew is

7:03

writing to a Jewish audience

7:05

so really declaring Jesus as

7:07

Messiah. Mark is writing to

7:09

a predominantly Roman audience and

7:12

so it's really this action-packed

7:14

Jesus. Let's see Luke,

7:16

he's the doctor, he's the historian,

7:18

he's really writing to the skeptic

7:20

and John, well John's writing to people

7:24

in Asia Minor around Ephesus and

7:27

when he's describing his interaction

7:29

and writing about the

7:31

story and the life of

7:33

Jesus, he's writing to the

7:35

philosophical, the Hellenistic, the cultured

7:38

and he's writing fundamentally so

7:41

that we might not only know

7:43

him but believe in him. And

7:45

as he writes the

7:47

account of Jesus's life there's actually

7:50

seven different places

7:52

where Jesus says specifically

7:54

who he is. You

7:56

don't have to wrestle with it like if you're

7:58

sitting down with coffee with Jesus and you're

8:01

like Jesus who are you and he

8:03

would go I am and he does

8:05

this seven Different times and he says

8:07

I am the bread of life. I

8:09

am the light of the world. I

8:11

am the good shepherd I am the

8:13

gate. I am the

8:15

vine. I am the resurrection and

8:17

the life Jesus

8:20

who are you? The first thing

8:22

that he wants to reveal and tell us

8:25

I am the bread of life now Let me

8:27

give you a little context. In fact, we're gonna

8:29

read just a section of Scripture And so I

8:31

want you to kind of get ready as you're

8:33

listening to me So if you have your Bibles

8:35

or open your phones to John chapter 6 We'll

8:38

begin in verse 25 John chapter

8:40

6 verse 25 the context for

8:43

this statement Just the

8:45

day before Jesus was feeding

8:47

the 5,000. He's out in the wilderness

8:51

People clocked to him they find

8:53

him he feeds 5,000

8:56

people and then he sends

8:58

his disciples on to Capernaum But he

9:00

stays and prays and then

9:02

he literally walks on water and

9:04

nobody sees it But the disciples

9:07

and so he shows up on

9:09

to the scene in Capernaum And

9:11

everybody has been looking for him

9:13

trying to get a piece of

9:16

this miracle worker this bread Multiplier

9:19

this person that's going like

9:21

hey, you know what you can make bread We

9:24

want you as our leader

9:28

Because by the way anyone who can

9:30

manufacture bread like that will never

9:32

go hungry That way in

9:34

fact, we don't even have to work anymore.

9:36

This is great. You're great We want you

9:39

and so even in this context There's some

9:41

deeply political undertones is the

9:43

people are looking for a

9:45

political Leader and one who

9:47

will provide for them and here's where we

9:49

pick up the story John chapter 6 verse

9:52

25 When they found him on

9:54

the other side of the lake they asked him

9:56

rabbi When did you get here because

9:58

they didn't see him walk on? water? Jesus

10:01

answered, and I love this, he

10:03

doesn't answer their question. How often

10:05

Jesus does this, by the way,

10:07

read the Gospels, it's fascinating. Very

10:10

truly, I tell you, you are looking

10:12

for me, not because you saw the

10:14

signs I perform, but because you ate

10:16

the loaves and had your fill. You've

10:18

got fed and you wanted more. Verse

10:21

27, do not work

10:24

for food that spoils, that

10:27

perishes, but food that

10:29

endures to eternal life. Don't

10:31

spend your life striving after

10:33

things that will eventually fade

10:35

away and are of no

10:37

eternal value. Strive after that

10:40

which will last forever, which the Son

10:42

of Man will give you. For

10:44

on him, God the Father has placed

10:46

his seal of approval. So

10:48

now they're going to ask a different

10:51

question. Then they ask him, what

10:53

must we do to do the work God

10:56

requires? Their translation

10:58

or our translation of this is literally,

11:00

what are the eternal life kinds of

11:02

things? And in our context,

11:04

in their context, they're asking, there must

11:06

be something we have to do. Jesus

11:08

has answered the work of God.

11:11

Notice that the work of God. What is the

11:13

work of God? Is this

11:15

to believe, not

11:18

to be better, not to do

11:20

better, not to earn it, but

11:22

to believe in the one he has

11:25

sent me. Verse 30, so they asked him

11:28

because they weren't ready to believe in him. And

11:31

this is what we do when we're confronted with Jesus in

11:33

such a way where we're like, you know what, this is

11:35

making me a little uncomfortable. I don't really want to believe

11:37

in the one who sent me because that means I have

11:40

to change my life. So let's

11:42

change the topic. So

11:45

they asked him, what sign then will you

11:47

give that we may see it and believe

11:49

you? What will you do? Whoo.

11:53

Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness as

11:55

it is written. He Gave them

11:58

bread from heaven to eat. I

12:01

don't think it's a good idea challenging Jesus, But

12:03

here you they went. Jesus.

12:06

Said to them very truly. I

12:08

tell you it is not Moses

12:10

too has given you the bread

12:12

from heaven, but it is my

12:14

father who gives you the true

12:16

bread from heaven. For the bread

12:18

of God is the bread. That comes

12:20

down from heaven and. Give life to

12:22

the world. Thirty said.

12:25

To. Always give us this bread which

12:27

he gave us yesterday must suck them

12:30

because I'm still. Hungry, Give us

12:32

that bread. Than.

12:34

Jesus declare. I.

12:37

Am. The bread. Of.

12:40

Life. Whoever comes

12:43

to me will never go

12:45

hungry and whoever believes in

12:47

me will never be thirsty.

12:50

The first declaration Jesus gives

12:52

to us in revealing who

12:54

he is Still Really want

12:57

to know Jesus? what is

12:59

he like. He.

13:01

Says I am. The.

13:04

Proud. Of. Last.

13:07

The so much here and in the

13:09

rest of the chapter. I actually just

13:11

want to unpack the six words. And

13:14

our time together today. I am.

13:17

The. Bread. And

13:20

who is Jesus and what it

13:22

means for us to day. Shipping.

13:29

Routes or guess teacher today is why

13:31

I'm ingram. After the teaching, he and

13:33

Ship will join us and studio to

13:35

talk more about today's message to stay

13:37

with us for that. For more details

13:46

Here again is Ryan and Groom with the rest

13:48

of his message. When

13:50

Jesus began and I said they're seven,

13:53

I am statements is this spoke so

13:55

much deeper to the original audience. The

13:57

original here's than it does to. When

14:00

Jesus said, I am, here's what

14:03

he is saying to his audience.

14:05

Jesus is the explanation

14:07

and revelation of God

14:09

to the world. He says, I am. I

14:13

am. I am the explanation. I

14:15

am explaining what God is like.

14:17

No, it's even better than that.

14:20

I'm the revelation. I am revealing

14:22

exactly what God is like. When

14:24

you see Jesus, when I see

14:26

Jesus, when we look at him,

14:29

you do not just see a

14:31

good man, you see God in

14:33

flesh man. And

14:36

so if you want to know what God is like,

14:38

look at Jesus. If you want to know how God

14:40

feels about injustice and the poor in their press, look

14:42

at Jesus. If you want to

14:44

know how God responds to self-righteous

14:47

jerks, look at Jesus.

14:50

See, that phrase, I am, is actually

14:52

rooted all the way back into the

14:54

Exodus story. Moses, he

14:56

was wandering in the wilderness and he

14:58

was tending sheep on the

15:00

far side of the mountain. And

15:04

he sees this burning bush and

15:06

it doesn't burn up. He's curious. He

15:08

goes over to it and God speaks

15:10

to him from this burning bush that's

15:12

not burning up. And he calls Moses

15:14

to be the liberator of the people of Israel.

15:17

And he's like, who am I? And God's like, no,

15:19

you don't get it. It's all about me, not you.

15:22

It doesn't matter. I called you. So go. And then

15:24

eventually Moses gets to the point where he's like, okay,

15:26

but what's your name? Like

15:29

who am I to tell sent me? A

15:33

name in the ancient day actually

15:35

was a revelation of a person's

15:37

character and who they are,

15:40

their identity. And

15:42

so when he's asking what's your name, he's not just

15:44

saying, I want to be able to have a name.

15:47

I want to know who you are,

15:49

what you're like. And

15:51

then God reveals himself and he gives Moses

15:53

his covenant name three times. He says this.

15:55

He says, I am who I

15:57

am. Yahweh

16:01

I am who I am I am

16:04

has sent you and sometimes I think Moses

16:06

gotta be going like okay Thank you. I

16:08

am I you told me I am what

16:10

does that even mean the Lord the God

16:13

of your fathers? This is

16:15

my name forever the name you shall call

16:17

me from generation to generation

16:19

this word Yahweh I am it's

16:22

ever existing one uncreated

16:26

sovereign creator of all

16:30

It's interesting when they translated the Hebrew

16:32

scripture into the Greek It's called the

16:35

Septuagint the phrase the Greek phrase they

16:37

use is ego and me And

16:40

this is the very phrase Jesus uses seven

16:42

different times to say this is me I'm

16:46

God. I am

16:48

Jesus the ever-existing one. I

16:50

am the uncreated creator I

16:53

am the sovereign one walking

16:56

this planet in flesh and

16:59

Person eternal immutable

17:01

me which means changeless and active I

17:04

am I am actively Engaged and involved

17:06

when Jesus says and if you're gonna

17:08

sit down with coffee with him. He's

17:11

gonna begin with I am I'm the

17:14

Explanation and the revelation of God to

17:16

this world and what does that mean?

17:18

I'm gonna explain it even more Jesus

17:20

says because I am goes so far,

17:23

but let me explain it and give

17:25

you a picture I am the bread

17:31

in fact all seven of the pictures are very

17:34

visceral tangible and so

17:37

if you Don't have

17:39

any understanding of the Jewish background you

17:41

you can actually get the picture and

17:44

Then if you do understand some of the

17:46

Jewish background it brings so much more depth

17:48

and meaning to it He

17:51

says I am the bread where Jesus

17:53

saying only Jesus only me will finally

17:55

and fully satisfy the desires of your

17:57

heart I Will find

18:00

and fully satisfied. This picture of bread

18:03

is the picture of the very sustenance

18:05

of life. It's like we

18:07

need food to survive and without

18:09

it we can't. And Jesus

18:12

is saying, I am the very sustenance

18:14

of life. And when the

18:16

Israelites were wandering in the wilderness, they show up

18:18

on Mount Sinai with Moses,

18:20

they get the law, this command, and then

18:22

they wander for 40 years. God

18:25

gives them manna, this

18:28

heavenly bread that came down that provided

18:30

for them when they were in

18:32

the wasteland, when they weren't

18:34

able to provide on their own.

18:36

And as they got further away from

18:39

Mount Sinai and from that wandering moment

18:41

for the Jewish people, the bread, that

18:43

manna, actually began to become synonymous with

18:45

the law of God that came down

18:47

from Mount Sinai. And so when the

18:50

Jewish people began to talk about the very

18:52

bread, they began to have

18:55

this metaphor that was connected to

18:57

the very words of God that

18:59

bring life. That this

19:01

manna is really connected to the Torah

19:04

and his very words of life that are

19:06

bringing life. And the Greek thinker who would

19:08

be reading this in the Hellenistic culture would

19:10

understand the bread as the symbol of the

19:12

wisdom and the wisdom of the

19:15

world and the wisdom of the God that actually

19:17

is life-giving. And Jesus is saying, yeah, I'm all

19:20

of it. I'm all of it.

19:24

I'm the sustainer of life. I'm the wisdom of

19:26

life. I'm the very word

19:28

of God. In fact, that's the

19:30

reason John would begin and say, in the beginning was

19:33

the word and the word was with God and the

19:35

word was God. Moving on to John

19:37

1.14, he would say, and

19:40

the word became flesh and made his

19:43

dwelling among us. I

19:47

am the bread of

19:49

life. And what our

19:51

hearts need more than anything else is

19:55

to recognize that only

19:57

Jesus can finally be the bread of life.

20:00

and fully satisfy the

20:02

desires of our heart. He

20:05

actually gives us some descriptors of

20:07

what kind of bread this is. He says it's

20:09

true bread, it's heavenly bread,

20:12

it's living bread. What

20:14

kind of bread am I? Well, it's

20:16

true. It's

20:18

true bread as opposed to fake

20:22

or substitute bread. It's genuine.

20:24

I'm authentic. It's

20:26

heavenly bread as opposed to earthly

20:28

or temporal. It's eternal kind

20:30

of bread. It's living bread as opposed

20:33

to dead or lifeless or poison. You

20:38

know, we have built inside

20:40

of us cravings and desires.

20:43

And I think there's some of us that

20:45

kind of think that the Christian life is

20:48

somehow the oppression of desires. And

20:50

that's not Christianity at all. That's

20:52

actually Buddhism more than that. And

20:55

then there's also this idea of

20:57

desires that in our culture today is

20:59

the exploitation of desires. And

21:01

that's hedonism, where you

21:03

give way to all your desires. In

21:05

fact, in Christianity, God says, I created

21:08

your desires. And they're actually good

21:10

in the context upon

21:12

which I created them. In fact, they're to

21:14

point to the deeper longing that you

21:16

need. You ever notice that as you eat,

21:19

you're satisfied, but you're never fully satisfied? Because

21:21

eventually you're hungry. A little bit later, you

21:23

know, today I'm going to have some lunch

21:26

because I'm going to be hungry. But

21:28

I ate breakfast this morning. And

21:30

yet later I'm hungry. I'm never

21:32

fully or finally satisfied. And Jesus

21:34

says it points to the longing

21:37

of our soul and heart that

21:39

one day that someone might fully

21:41

and finally satisfy and says I'm

21:43

here. This

21:49

is Living on the Edge with Chip Ingram.

21:51

And you've been listening to the first part of

21:53

our guest teacher, Ryan Ingram's message, The

21:55

Bread of Life, from our series, Jesus Is.

21:58

He and Chip will join us

22:00

here today. to share some additional thoughts on what we've

22:02

heard. It's been said that one of

22:04

the wonderful things about knowing God is that there's

22:06

always more to know. So even

22:09

though God is infinite, it can still be a

22:11

joy for us to learn more and more about

22:13

who He is. And that's what Chip

22:15

and his son Ryan Ingram are doing in this

22:17

series based in the Gospel of John. Join

22:20

us as they highlight seven phrases

22:22

Jesus used to describe Himself that

22:24

gave us a more spectacular glimpse

22:26

into His character, authority, and love

22:28

for us. If you

22:30

missed any part of this series, catch up

22:32

through the Chip Ingram app or at livingontheedge.org.

22:36

Well, our Bible teacher, Chip Ingram,

22:38

is with me now. And Chip, take a

22:40

minute and talk about this new series you've taught with your

22:42

son Ryan. What's the purpose behind

22:44

it? You know, the

22:46

purpose is so simple. There's

22:49

been such turmoil in the

22:51

world, a sliding view of

22:53

values, morality, sexual confusion. And

22:56

my son and I were talking, and he said, Dad, I'm going to

22:58

do something I've never done. And I

23:00

said, What's that? He said, We're going to

23:02

focus on the person of Jesus for an

23:05

entire year. We're going to teach through the

23:07

Gospels. We're going to teach what he

23:09

said. We're going to

23:11

actually focus on

23:13

Jesus Himself, what

23:16

He taught, why He taught it, who He

23:18

is. And you have to

23:20

know He's pastoring a very young church. Maybe

23:23

the average age is 28, super

23:25

multicultural, the heart of the Silicon

23:28

Valley, Bay Area, all kind of

23:30

spirituality from all kind of backgrounds.

23:33

And it was so exciting to get

23:35

to partner with Him. And

23:37

what we did is we taught the seven

23:39

great I Am statements where Jesus says, I

23:42

am, referring back to that classic word

23:44

where God speaks to Moses. And He

23:46

says, I am that I am. That's

23:49

my personal name. And

23:51

then Jesus comes and fills in the blanks.

23:53

This is going to be a great series.

23:55

This is one you might want to share

23:57

with both friends, family, and maybe God. Maybe

24:00

even some people that maybe don't know the

24:02

Lord and you want to reach them,

24:04

the most refreshing,

24:07

positive, attractive person

24:09

who has ever lived is

24:12

Jesus the Christ. And

24:14

this series is who He claimed to be, what

24:17

He provides, and who He really is. I

24:19

think you're going to love it. I couldn't

24:21

agree more, Chip. So I hope all of

24:23

you can join us for each message in this series. And

24:26

as we get started, let me encourage you

24:28

to invite a few friends to listen with

24:30

you, either through the Chip Ingram app or

24:33

at livingontheedge.org. We

24:35

all could benefit to better understand who Jesus

24:37

is. Well, with that, here again

24:39

is Chip with our co-teacher for this series,

24:41

Ryan Ingram. Well, welcome back

24:43

to the program, Ryan. It is so fun

24:45

to, one, for me to get to teach

24:47

at Awakening and partner with you. And

24:50

it's really exciting for you to come and share

24:52

this series that we did together with the Living

24:54

on the Edge family. And as

24:56

we get going, would you take a few minutes and

24:58

talk to us about the phrase, I

25:00

am? Why are these two

25:03

words so vital to our understanding of

25:05

who Jesus really is, especially as we

25:07

kind of walk through seven of these,

25:10

kind of help us understand why those

25:12

two words matter so much? Well,

25:14

thanks so much, Dad. It is great to

25:16

be back with you and the Living on

25:18

the Edge family. Well, like I said in

25:20

my sermon, I am, or Yahweh, is the

25:23

covenant name that God gave to Moses and

25:25

the people of Israel. It

25:27

was actually so sacred for Jewish people

25:29

that they wouldn't even speak his name

25:31

out loud. I mean, even

25:33

the scribes, before they would write the name

25:35

Yahweh as they were making copies of the

25:38

Hebrew Scriptures, they would actually bathe, put on

25:40

clean clothes, and use a brand new pen.

25:43

I am is God's sacred,

25:45

holy, personal name. A

25:48

name in the ancient day told you about

25:50

a person's character, who they are. I

25:53

am tells us first that God is eternal.

25:55

There was never a time when he was not. He

25:58

has always existed from a... Hernan past

26:00

and always will J I Packer

26:03

in his classic Knowing God Rights.

26:05

This name is not a description

26:07

of God but simply a declaration

26:09

of his self existence and is

26:12

eternal change or in a reminder

26:14

some mankind that he has lies

26:16

and himself and that what he

26:19

is now he is eternally I

26:21

am reveals that God is eternal,

26:23

the and created creator. It also

26:25

tells us that God is immutable

26:28

or that is unchanging. Still. Cannot

26:30

change and get better. He is

26:32

perfect in every way and he

26:34

cannot change for the worst. James

26:36

One seventeen says every good and

26:39

perfect gift is from above coming

26:41

down from the father of heavenly

26:43

lights who does not change by

26:45

shifting shadows and so gods hard

26:47

for you. Never changes his mood,

26:49

doesn't saying she's not circle. He

26:52

will never go back on his

26:54

promises. He's consistent in every way

26:56

And finally I am tells us

26:58

that Cat is active. Theologians.

27:01

Segments More Winkle Rights to the

27:03

Hebrew to be does not just

27:05

means to exist as all other

27:07

beans and things do as well,

27:10

but to active to express oneself

27:12

and active. Been the God who

27:14

acts or I am the God

27:16

that really acts And Jesus I

27:19

am in the flesh is the

27:21

guy who acts on our behalf

27:23

who made the first move, who

27:25

was moved by love and came

27:28

to seek and save the life.

27:30

You. Know. The great reminder for us

27:33

today is that God is eternally

27:35

consistently active in our lives. We

27:37

spend so much time and energy

27:39

trying to measure up and be

27:41

enough. May we rest in the

27:43

truth deck. God already is enough.

27:45

I am is with you. Today.
