I may have focused too much on the positive side of a breakup; what one can gain from this loss. Although I have healed from most of what happened, it didn't feel right leaving out the "ugly parts" of it. I refer to them as the ugly parts because it is the phase after a breakup that no one looks forward to. All of the crying and doubting. Everyone dreads it, and it makes life 10 times harder. It is still just as significant as everything that comes after the acceptance. I would not be who I am now if it weren't for that. I can't say I am not hit with waves of sadness sometimes, but I have definitely left that place of hurt in which I initially was. Since I am on the topic of breakups, I would like to tell you about my experience with the ugly parts.
