Fields and Mitch Trubisky. But

1:51

there really is something different about this

1:53

QB and this Chicago Bears team that

1:56

sets them up to break the cycle

1:58

of failed quarterbacks in Chicago. Chicago. This

2:59

we take a deep dive into what makes

3:01

Caleb Williams and this year's quarterback

3:04

draft pick different than

3:06

the last couple of the times we've

3:09

been through this same cycle with Justin

3:11

Fields and Mitch Trubisky, where you get

3:13

excited about the young quarterback, you

3:15

think he's going to be the future of the

3:17

franchise who changes everything and unlocks the potential and

3:19

solves the quarterback problem and then starts

3:21

off on the wrong foot, things go poorly from there.

3:25

He's just fired, coaching staff change, general manager

3:27

change in some cases, and then new regime

3:30

wants their new quarterback and we start all over again.

3:32

But Caleb Williams can break that

3:35

cycle because there's some

3:37

specific things about him and this

3:39

pick and this situation that were

3:41

not present for Mitch Trubisky and

3:44

Justin Fields that makes it easier

3:46

to believe that this time is

3:48

going to be different. We'll

3:51

look at the draft themselves, the situation

3:53

he's coming into and also what these

3:55

quarterbacks were like coming out of college

3:58

to give us a better sense of what's in it. sets Caleb

4:00

Williams apart. But first and foremost,

4:03

the obvious thing shouldn't be just

4:06

glanced over or overlooked that

4:08

Caleb Williams is the

4:11

number one overall pick in

4:13

the draft. Not just the first

4:15

quarterback off the board, because Mitch

4:17

Trebisci was also the first quarterback

4:19

off the board in his draft,

4:21

but the number one player in

4:24

the draft, that every player

4:26

was available and this was

4:28

clearly the best option in

4:31

most importantly in what was

4:33

also a very strong quarterback

4:35

class where there was a lot

4:37

of competition and a lot of back and forth on

4:40

who could be the top quarterback in this draft in

4:42

the draft where you say

4:44

oh in any other year Drake May is

4:46

the number one overall pick or in any

4:48

other year Jayden Daniels is the number one

4:50

overall pick. But not

4:52

in this year because Caleb Williams

4:54

was head and shoulders better than

4:57

those players. This was a

4:59

strong quarterback class and this guy

5:01

was clearly the best option among

5:03

a strong quarterback class and

5:06

certainly we could see multiple quarterbacks from this

5:08

class pan out and be effective NFL stars.

5:10

I mean we had a record for number

5:12

of quarterbacks taken in the first round. I

5:14

mean they just won after another after another

5:16

was popping off the board. Like this is

5:18

this was a quarterback desperate group. Plenty

5:20

of teams inquired with the Bears

5:22

about going up to number one but

5:24

never really got anywhere with those discussions

5:27

but like this was the guy that

5:29

everybody wanted. Neither Mitch

5:31

Trubisky nor Justin Fields was

5:34

the guy that everybody wanted. Trubisky was

5:36

the first quarterback up the board. He

5:39

was number two and not number three

5:41

but he was far from the consensus

5:45

everyone in the NFL thinks that's the best

5:47

QB in the draft. I think among Bears

5:49

fans there was not even a consensus that

5:51

Mitch Trubisky was the best QB in the

5:54

draft. I mean there's not data on this

5:57

but in my memory I think back

5:59

of more Bears fans fans preferring Deshaun Watson at

6:01

that time. I don't think you heard a

6:03

lot of Bears fans preferring Patrick Mahomes specifically,

6:05

but even like up until

6:07

draft day, there was kind of a question

6:09

of like, which one of these quarterbacks is going to be the

6:11

first one off the board? And how

6:14

early is a quarterback going to be off the

6:16

board? I mean, maybe we kind of had a feeling

6:18

that maybe the Bears might take one at three where

6:20

they started in that draft, but like, you didn't know

6:22

exactly who it was going to be or in what

6:24

order or how long these QBs would last. A lot

6:26

of questions about that quarterback class, it was perceived as

6:28

a, quote unquote, bad quarterback class. Then

6:30

you move ahead to Justin Fields in 2021.

6:32

And that's another one where it's like,

6:36

okay, Justin Fields comes off

6:39

the board as the fourth quarterback

6:41

taken still 11th overall, but clearly

6:43

10 teams chose to pass on

6:45

Justin Fields, including three that chose

6:47

to take other quarterbacks, not

6:49

the consensus top guy, not a guy that every

6:51

team liked teams were willing to take worse

6:54

quarterbacks. As it turned out, I think we all agree

6:56

Trey Lance has been worse than Zach Wilson has been

6:58

pretty much consistently worse as well before Justin Fields, but

7:00

he was no sure thing. He

7:03

was no consensus pick. Everyone

7:05

seemed to give the Bears a lot of credit

7:07

for that pick. There was a lot of praise

7:09

for the Bears landing Justin Fields 11, but

7:11

he was still the fourth quarterback in the draft

7:13

class, right? There's something to be said about this

7:16

was not a obvious decision

7:18

that everyone says, Oh, of course you got to

7:20

take him when he's there. Because a bunch of

7:22

other teams that probably could use him ended up

7:24

passing on him in those moments. So again, like

7:27

the Bears took what they could at 11, but

7:30

it wasn't like this easy obvious choice compared

7:32

to Caleb Williams, who

7:34

was like unquestionably, not only

7:36

the best quarterback in this draft, but the best

7:39

quarterback prospect in college football for

7:41

the last two or three years.

7:43

It felt like he has been

7:45

building up to this moment over

7:47

time. Obviously the Heisman trophy winner

7:50

in 2022, like he, he carries

7:52

this, this cache, this track record,

7:54

this proven commodity that everybody wanted

7:56

coming in. Justin Fields

7:59

had shades of that but obviously never a

8:01

Heisman winner. I think he finished was it third

8:03

in the Heisman voting that year second or

8:05

third. I don't remember how it ended up playing up

8:07

but was a finalist but didn't win the Heisman 12-V

8:09

award and was never really like the

8:12

best quarterback in college football at any

8:14

point in his college career. He was always one of

8:16

the best but like Trevor Lawrence was pretty clearly the

8:19

best quarterback in that draft, the best quarterback in college

8:21

football and Justin Fields was second fiddle. I mean he's

8:23

much closer to wherever you know Drake May or whatever

8:25

in this year's draft class you might consider in terms

8:27

of the quarterback ranking where it's like yeah he's up

8:30

there for sure but never was like the

8:33

bona fide best guy and some people might say Jayden Daniels

8:35

was the best guy this past season but I mean over

8:38

the course of Caleb Williams's career he was the guy. Jayden

8:40

Daniels had a better 2023 but when you combine the

8:43

multi-years of Caleb Williams production he

8:46

was clearly sought after as the best quarterback

8:48

and his draft status as the number one

8:50

overall pick certainly reflects that and then of

8:52

course Mitch Trubisky a one-year starter

8:54

at North Carolina came on hot at the

8:56

end out of nowhere after being a backup through

8:58

most of his college career and had a

9:00

very strong season but no one was

9:02

really like oh wow Mitch Trubisky was this dominant

9:05

quarterback who led the country and was

9:07

a Heisman guy like not not all I mean Watson

9:09

was probably closer at that point and we were already

9:11

kind of you know you had other quarterbacks coming out

9:13

the next season you know questions about you know Baker

9:15

Mayfield was going to be that guy as he kind

9:18

of elevated that Oklahoma there like there were other quarterbacks

9:20

in those conversations already that weren't yeah

9:23

that didn't that made the competition for Mitch Trubisky

9:25

that much more difficult so like Caleb Williams just

9:28

comes in from such a

9:30

better place in terms of the

9:33

quarterback discussion right

9:35

you can look back in 2021 and the

9:37

2021 draft and go like you

9:39

know should the Bears have taken Mitch Trubisky there you know

9:42

could they have taken a different player or however whatever

9:44

position they want to address there like you can look

9:46

back and try and second guess that move if you

9:48

want you can certainly look back in 2017 and try

9:50

and second guess well like was that the best decision

9:52

at the time You

9:54

know, maybe maybe not. maybe it wasn't You

9:56

know what? But like Caleb was the obvious

9:58

pick No one. Ever gonna look back

10:01

and got the bear. Should have known that

10:03

they should have taken Drag Me instead or

10:05

that the Bears have known as you they

10:07

can. Ted, Ted, Ginn Daniels Like no one.

10:09

No one is second guessing that. Oh man,

10:11

what are the Bears doing Like the had

10:13

to take Taleb Williams. This was the only

10:15

choice they had if they were going to

10:17

stick with the number one overall pick was

10:19

to take Taleb whims. There was no second

10:21

guessing that decision. There's no looking back and

10:23

saying man, What? Why did the Bears

10:25

choose him with a does the just a question

10:27

of because he is the choice whether he works

10:29

out or not. You'll. Look back and

10:31

say well they had to take him and see

10:33

if it would work it as is what they

10:35

had to do a known him a bag as

10:38

a what's way ryan for was he thinking in

10:40

that more because he was thinking the same thing

10:42

everyone else was thinking the all one of the

10:44

number one overall pick. They all wanted Taleb Williams

10:46

so he comes in out of addressed as the

10:48

all around. Better. Prospect compared to

10:50

either midst risky, just abuse The only

10:52

number one overall pick quarterbacks the Chicago

10:54

Bears have ever taken sat alone makes

10:57

him a lot different. Coming. Here

10:59

than either of those previous quarter or

11:01

any the previous quarterback experiences. But what

11:03

also makes this pic difference is the

11:05

Chicago Bears team he's coming into so

11:07

we'll take a closer look at his

11:10

supporting cast to bird amidst trustees adjusted

11:12

field and also where the coaching staff

11:14

plays in the this and also what

11:16

they had to minute what they had

11:18

to deal with in college who get

11:20

to live it later on. Next.

13:14

a good neighbor? State Farm is there. Prices

13:16

are based on rating claims that vary by

13:18

state, coverage options are selected by the customer,

13:20

availability, amount of discounts and savings and eligibility

13:22

vary by state. Perhaps

13:28

most importantly, the difference

13:30

between what set Justin Field

13:32

and Mitch Trubisky up for failure, that

13:35

is set up to set Taylor Williams up

13:37

for more success, is what they're coming into

13:40

As Chicago Bears quarterback. It does not guarantee

13:42

that Taylor Williams will be successful, but it's

13:44

one of the key reasons you can point

13:46

to and say, ah, this is why it's

13:49

going to be different this time with this

13:51

quarterback, compared to the last two quarterbacks that

13:53

you also fell in love with, but then

13:55

were once again, disappointed by because those two

13:57

quarterbacks came into very. Very

14:00

little. As. Nfl quarterbacks.

14:03

Very. Little in terms of past getting

14:05

talent. Very little in terms of of

14:07

a divine talent. Very. Little in

14:09

terms of coaching quality and that all got

14:11

them on the wrong foot to start a

14:13

month of for both quarterbacks will just oven

14:16

mitts like it did get better. Over.

14:18

Time. And. Then it got

14:20

worse in some ways and but they never

14:22

really is. As a lot you can say

14:24

the never really recovered from that start but

14:26

you always wonder you not had much, had

14:28

a better start, had just had a better

14:30

start would they have developed. Better.

14:33

Faster, more consistently, more linearly and not

14:35

had the type of regression that then

14:37

led the Bears to move on to

14:39

the next quarterback with Taleb. he's going

14:42

to have that start. right? Away

14:44

and we look at like the names even just

14:46

on paper. We haven't seen despairs often come together

14:48

just yet. We have seen how they play together

14:50

like must be perfect for Caleb your one. Even

14:52

with the great weapons and all that stuff, there's

14:54

gonna be. Bumps. Along the way growing

14:56

pains, guys getting used to each other, etc.

14:58

be the rookie quarterback to. there's any mistakes

15:00

But just like on paper, It's. Such

15:03

a drastic difference. mischievous the had.

15:06

A. Back to the Jordan Howard in it in

15:08

Okay pretty good. all three quarterbacks vet pretty

15:10

good running backs. A will give them credit

15:12

for that but mischievous the a Jordan Howard

15:14

and that was it. Semyon it was. Receivers

15:16

were Kendall Wright. Josh. Bellamy. I

15:18

think we're there to leading receivers but they

15:20

had Markus Wheaton was signed that off season

15:22

and seven which was trying to be a

15:24

big time receiver them was was the plan

15:26

that enough as the work out there and

15:28

then it tight end they had an injured

15:30

Zach Miller and free agent signing. Dion.

15:33

Sim site. nothing anywhere close

15:35

to a reliable set of.

15:38

Skill. Players to help a young

15:40

quarterback A just as the Nfl

15:42

level. Then. You go to just in

15:45

fields who gets a better set than what Mix

15:47

Drabinsky had but still some some limitations that read

15:49

again good back, good running back David Montgomery in

15:51

their backs it was a thousand. Your guy had

15:53

a really strong season. Darnel.

15:56

Mooney as a rookie receiver as

15:58

thousand yards original was. He

16:00

didn't read those thousand yard receiver whenever the

16:02

timing it was there. Yet. A big

16:04

year of that. First you would just in fields and

16:06

also Andy Dalton than and out Nick for that your

16:08

but started would have a stronger he was a leading

16:11

receiver. They still had Allen Robinson. But. He

16:13

was a little bit ah you know winding

16:15

down in terms of the productivity and the

16:17

consistency there Receiver as so he wasn't as

16:19

good as the name recognition might suggest that

16:22

year but he was I mean I guess

16:24

or name so he thought you could rely

16:26

on someone and then after him he was

16:28

no dummy or bird Marquees Goodwin at receiver

16:30

and they said coconut as a young tight

16:33

end in that often for developing and growing

16:35

know K like is pretty good for of

16:37

pass catching up and there but not much

16:39

besides Montgomery Mooney Internet a little bit Robinson

16:42

but but. That was about it's. Not.

16:45

Not ideal in a lot of Justin's your

16:47

one. Issues came from the Bears

16:50

just not preparing in order to coaching

16:52

your second the like. Personnel wise, it

16:54

wasn't as baron as desperate as what.

16:57

Be. Serviced he had with and you go into

16:59

year to would just in fields by imposed cleans

17:01

out the cupboard and the receiving corps is just

17:03

as bad if not almost like worse in year

17:06

to so like. It took a couple years things

17:08

to get there for just of the Israelis metrobus.

17:10

he got our Robinson right after that they they

17:12

did make a concerted effort to build around him

17:15

and given better weapons it just get a bad

17:17

first year Justin had a couple years of with

17:19

would not a lotta help on the office. Taylor

17:21

Williams comes in. And. We see

17:23

me investment this off season. The address lived in the backfield.

17:26

And. I was a D J More trade

17:28

last year but then trade for Keenan Allen this year's

17:30

draft. Roma dunes A in the first rounds of three.

17:33

Dynamics. Elite weapons at the

17:35

wide receiver position. He still have cocoa Matt and

17:37

now job ever it as a tight end. More

17:39

players in the backfield at Sees. Pretty.

17:42

Much. As. you say everything he

17:44

needs but like a pretty much yet he has more

17:46

than you could ask for hope for or as you

17:48

can always be better on the offensive line you can

17:50

always have more depth your their whatever but like you

17:52

can't ask for anything better than what to the blooms

17:55

has right now you can expect that he quarterback to

17:57

come in a much better than that in terms of

17:59

the players on the field around

18:01

him. So that right away puts him at a

18:03

big advantage. But I also think Caleb Williams comes

18:06

in with at least somewhat of a coaching advantage.

18:08

We don't know exactly, we assume

18:10

Shane Waldron will be good and all the staff

18:13

they've invested in around the

18:15

quarterback position on that offense, there's guys, a lot of

18:17

reason to like these guys. But I

18:19

do still wanna like actually see how

18:21

they do in Chicago before I say, oh, the Bears

18:24

have a great coaching staff for Caleb Williams. The

18:26

Bears have a promising, encouraging coaching

18:29

staff for Caleb Williams. We still

18:31

do have to see it. I'm not just gonna give

18:33

them all the full credit until we actually see them

18:35

do it. But it certainly already feels a lot

18:38

better than what Mitch Trubisky

18:40

came into with, under

18:42

John Fox and Dowell Loggins, as

18:45

the offensive coordinator, a guy who has

18:47

been consistently mediocre and

18:50

kind of failed upwards for a while and bounced around the

18:52

league a little bit, but is now a offensive

18:54

coordinator at South Carolina. And two years ago, he

18:56

was a tight ends coach at Arkansas. Like he's

18:59

not a good NFL offensive coordinator who

19:01

is putting these players in the best

19:04

position to be successful. Then Justin Fields

19:06

comes into Matt Nagy and Bill

19:08

Lazer at least is also a more

19:10

experienced NFL offensive coordinator who had worked with

19:13

a variety of quarterbacks and experiences and systems.

19:15

And there was something to like

19:17

about Bill Lazer, but the whole operation of

19:19

the offensive coaching staff there leaving

19:21

Justin Fields as the number two and number

19:23

three quarterback throughout OTA's training camp in the

19:25

preseason. So he never got to work with

19:27

the starters, never got to get used to

19:29

the starting receivers, the starting offensive line. And

19:31

then three weeks in the season, I

19:33

guess it was two weeks where he came in the

19:35

second half, but like made his first start three weeks

19:37

in the season against Cleveland Browns with very little preparation,

19:39

very little time having worked with those players. It was

19:41

just like poorly managed

19:44

as a developmental asset on

19:46

your offense. Like it's not to say that Bill Lazer was the

19:49

worst offensive coordinator in the NFL because I don't think it was

19:51

quite that. It just, they handled him so

19:53

poorly and made so many mistakes with how they

19:55

were trying to set him up that like the

19:58

operation was terrible. Even

20:00

if maybe that you could make a decent argument

20:02

on behalf of the coordinator himself who's now a

20:04

senior offensive assistant with the Houston Texans I might

20:06

add but was out of the league for a

20:08

season in between there, but like not

20:10

great and certainly not

20:13

well executed for Justin Fields, but Caleb

20:15

has a whole cast of

20:18

strong coaching staff names

20:20

guys with experience who have worked with quarterbacks that

20:22

you can least feel encouraged about obviously what Shane

20:24

Waldron did with with Geno Smith and to a

20:27

lesser extent, you know for a game drew lock

20:29

in Seattle is very encouraging for you know a

20:31

guy who's able to get more out of

20:34

the lesser quarterbacks or quarterbacks that aren't perceived

20:36

as As

20:38

dominant you get Thomas Brown as the as

20:40

the passing game coordinator who's been an NFL

20:42

offensive coordinator before albeit just for a year

20:44

in Carolina, but you feel like he brings

20:46

a little bit more experience and you might

20:48

typically have underneath an offensive coordinator He's a

20:51

guy who we expect to get an offensive

20:53

coordinator job again at some point

20:55

and then in your quarterback coach Kerry Joseph Being a

20:57

former quarterback himself having worked with this offensive coordinator like

20:59

I'm not here to say he's a great QB coach

21:01

again We'll see but at least I think there's a

21:03

lot to like about this coaching staff feeling like a

21:05

nice mix of valuable experience

21:07

But also like new ideas and

21:10

modern innovative NFL football that neither

21:12

Mitch nor Justin had coming into

21:14

Chicago on top of all The

21:17

players on the field with

21:19

those with with those quarterbacks and with those

21:21

coaches to all work together Like it was

21:24

sometimes it's hard to tell how good some

21:26

of those previous offensive coordinators were when they

21:28

also didn't have a ton of Weapons to

21:30

work with but now Caleb has has both

21:33

There's certainly no excuse for this bears off at the coaching staff

21:36

to come up short or you know Not succeed with

21:38

everything they've put around them in terms of the quarterback

21:40

and the players around them So that's where it's just

21:42

like man Caleb is coming

21:44

into such a better position like top

21:47

to bottom organizationally

21:49

coaching staff roster Everything

21:51

is really set up better for him

21:53

than it ever was in Chicago for

21:56

Mitch Trubisky or Justin Fields

21:59

And then you look at them. Coming out of the draft

22:01

as prospects rights obviously we talked already

22:03

about. Taylor. Being you know the

22:05

consensus, top guy been the best for like

22:07

kosovo like specifically both. It'll. Kind

22:09

of from a scouting reports perspective, the strengths

22:11

and weaknesses and how that translates to the

22:14

Nfl but then also like what the with

22:16

through in college. You. Really. so

22:18

I did a lot more to trust. In.

22:20

Taylor Williams's evaluation than the than more of

22:23

the question marks that came with Mr. Best

22:25

the into a lesser extent just as the

22:27

a whole kind of compare them as far

22:29

as their college situations and what they were

22:31

as prospects coming in the Cubs you feel

22:33

even more confident about Taylor Williams. Next.

24:15

you look at just the quarterback prospects of

24:18

Mitch Treviski, Justin Fields and Caleb Williams, you can

24:20

really see that Caleb Williams is in a little

24:22

bit of a league of his own. And I

24:24

think there's a separation between Mitch and then there's

24:26

Justin and then there's another break and then there's

24:28

Caleb. Like I don't think Justin and Mitch are

24:31

you know in the exact same category there. I think Mitch had

24:33

a lot of red flags and a lot of questions. Justin

24:36

had fewer red flags and

24:38

fewer questions and Caleb I think has

24:40

even fewer than than that once you kind of look more

24:42

close to these guys. Like I think we all kind of

24:44

know the Mitch Treviski

24:47

story right. One year player

24:49

out of North Carolina flashed a lot made a

24:51

bunch of great plays but clearly

24:53

there was an inexperience factor there as

24:56

far as you know reading defenses and reading the field and

24:58

knowing what defensive were throwing at him and being able to

25:00

adjust and like operate an

25:02

NFL offense like maybe maybe

25:04

a little bit raw a little bit in

25:06

over his skis when he had to start was

25:08

it four or five games into his rookie season.

25:11

Right like that was we kind of knew this

25:13

the book on Mitch Treviski like he had a

25:15

big arm and could make some big throws and

25:17

made some made some great plays in college but

25:19

there needed to be a lot of development there and we

25:22

didn't see as much of it as we needed to in college.

25:25

That was a little bit more of an easy an easier sell

25:27

but even with someone like Justin Fields right.

25:29

Justin Fields also was accurate

25:31

consistent productive experienced in college and a lot

25:33

of the same ways as Caleb is and

25:35

we hear even we've heard comparisons

25:37

between Justin Fields and Caleb Williams coming up but

25:40

I think you know one of the key

25:42

differences there is like yeah they both probably held the ball a

25:44

little bit too long in college. They

25:47

probably you know could have stand

25:49

in to throw the ball away a little bit more

25:51

though I think Caleb was better at that than Justin

25:53

was. I think Justin was also a little

25:55

bit quicker to scramble and Caleb's a little bit more

25:57

Inclined to stay in the pocket and wait the.

26:00

Way out before throwing it has posted for scrambling

26:02

it but but more so like we could see

26:04

some of the. The. Processing

26:07

Speed Questions about Justin Feals in college

26:09

and that release processing speed per se.

26:11

But like you know when we saw.

26:13

Him. Feel towards the end Here in Chicago.

26:16

Right where he's going to have. but he's

26:18

not pulling the trigger right like he's beaten. Read

26:20

the feel. both on a processing problem per se,

26:22

but it's like he's not. Delivering it

26:24

the way he needs to and and

26:27

not necessarily trusting what he sees like

26:29

those kinds of questions started with Justin

26:31

in college. And we knew that in

26:33

college. Fields. Was not

26:35

a. Quick. Floor was not

26:37

a quick game, you know? Timing

26:40

underneath, anticipation, rhythm type of floor. We knew he

26:42

was a vertical guys. more like that tabloid style

26:44

mall up and for an appeal but but not

26:46

as good on the quick game. The attorney stuff.

26:48

We knew that about Justin and he never got.

26:51

In. Good enough. better. Another, he improved in that area,

26:53

but didn't make enough strides in that area. But.

26:55

Taleb can do that all the key will

26:57

be as a better faster processor. He he

26:59

reacts more quickly than field he goes get

27:02

through his progressions with the what could be.

27:04

He has that kind of. Quick. Game

27:06

timing in anticipation to snap turned get the

27:08

ball out on time with placements where it

27:10

needs to be like some of those things

27:12

that fields did not do well. Tailored

27:15

Williams does. That. Is it

27:17

a cave whims of their father? He does the hero ball

27:19

stuff too much enforces the ball. Sometimes me try to make

27:21

a play for see him with Steve. Not a perfect quarterback

27:23

prospect who was never going to fail. But.

27:25

They're I think the things that he does.

27:28

Or little bit more easily coached out

27:31

of him and more so like he

27:33

has fewer flaws. Than. Justin. He

27:35

doesn't have some of the same areas

27:37

that Justin struggled with and never developed

27:39

at At Act in his Nfl career,

27:41

as that's where it's easier to trust.

27:43

Just as a teaser, Trust Caleb and

27:45

also think when you look back at

27:47

college like Tail Blooms did, All.

27:49

That production. With. A lot

27:52

less strong of a supporting cast

27:54

in college and what either Midst

27:56

Of Escape or Just In Fields

27:58

had. It is easy. To

28:00

Like and I I I, I feel I deserve all

28:03

given the front and like me, you'll get killed. Whims

28:05

of Twenty Twenty Three supporting cast were just when to

28:07

into supporting cast. Like is cast was better two years

28:09

ago, but I'm a talker the Twenty Three Three Guys

28:11

which is that nitpicking Mr. Most recent year in college

28:14

for all three. These guys is what I'm looking at

28:16

specifically in their last season income would protect the state.

28:18

A bit of better weapons in his eyes when you're

28:20

I'm not trying to like. You. Know

28:22

give biased information here or leave out

28:24

certain stuff to make a better argument

28:26

here. Blood: You look at the the

28:29

receivers that these quarterbacks referring to. Mister.

28:31

Be sleep had. A. Couple of fourth

28:33

round picks in Ryan Switzer in Mack Holland's in

28:35

North Carolina and when his other he was austin

28:37

poll with a seventh round picks is running back

28:39

to do Logan was a fifth round pick. Like

28:41

all drafted skill players around him, there. Just.

28:44

In fields obviously three actually the head for

28:46

first on wide receivers are how states Chris

28:48

Alavi and Gary Wilson. Obviously it's get his

28:50

message Eagle was young that your and else

28:52

I'd Jamison Williams who then transferred to Alabama

28:54

and will suffer from thick by lions. it's

28:56

it's for first round wide receivers in that

28:58

Ohio State receiving horse plus the running back

29:00

to a sermon was a third on pick

29:02

a couple years ago like Justin Feals was

29:05

throwing to Nfl playmakers. With. An

29:07

Nfl back to the enough off at a wide mischievous

29:09

he was throwing to. You're not elite

29:11

Nfl playmakers, but Nfl guys in a

29:13

with with Nfl backs in the backfield.

29:16

Team of Williams this past season you se me to get

29:18

had. Tornados, Hims there could be

29:20

going to have had. Ulysses had good players before. But.

29:22

This season. Is. Wide receivers

29:25

Brendan Rice, Wrapped. In the

29:27

seventh round. Prize Washington goes undrafted

29:29

that his lead running back Marshawn Lloyd the third

29:31

round pick to the Green Bay Packers. Like okay

29:33

to get a good running back no doubt but

29:35

you have a divine was not good. At

29:37

Nother other receivers came outside on them have

29:39

been able to get drafted gets their number

29:41

two. Running back Austin Jones went undrafted like

29:43

the only had of martial law. Dresses are

29:46

gone bread and rice of the seventh so

29:48

there's only skill players. That. Have been

29:50

worth a draft pick from this past season so far. Maybe

29:52

one of the ones next year will develop in Saudi. Better

29:54

and the look like a better supporting cast but just like

29:56

clearly on paper. Fields. First

29:59

round picks system you mitzvahs. he has a bunch

30:01

of fourth round picks you throw into. Taleb. got

30:03

some undrafted free agent and seven run guys in

30:05

his office and they'll have these are running backs,

30:07

but like generally speaking, To. The we did

30:09

a lot more. With. A lot less in a

30:11

Justin Had a great supporting cast in in college and

30:13

that was one of the question. It's like okay, he

30:16

played with Nfl playmakers across the board at at Ohio

30:18

State in a great situation all the time. How's he

30:20

gonna do in the Nfl when things aren't so great?

30:22

With. Taleb. He's. Played in

30:24

some not so great situations in college. so

30:27

if things ever go wrong in Chicago or

30:29

somebody gets hurt Reverend The supporting cast is

30:31

is lesser. He's. Been through that before.

30:33

Where. Is. Justin had the adjustable but did not having.

30:36

First. Round Picks across the border. Wide receiver a

30:38

killer. Williams has that now in Chicago of like

30:40

Steve the whatever the Nfl equivalent of. Lobby.

30:43

And Wilson And while State is like that's key lounge

30:45

Dj more and Roman who's a for surely there bears

30:47

are giving that the tale of down in a felon

30:49

that's great for his development, but like I feel like

30:51

I'd rather have the quarterback who. Who.

30:53

Elevated the level of play of players around

30:55

him in college and then given easier situation

30:57

the Nfl as opposed to Justin who suddenly

31:00

got a lot of help for the players

31:02

around him in college and comes to a

31:04

more difficult situation in the Nfl and maybe

31:06

has a little trouble elevating the player those

31:08

players and that's where again it feels easier

31:10

to trust. That t. The whims

31:12

is translation to the Nfl will go

31:14

more smoothly. Because. It's not just. A

31:17

dominating supporting cast that made like easy for him all

31:19

the time. In college he had to do so much

31:21

that work was I just in Will still grail Ohio

31:23

State. But. It helps a lot

31:25

to have a lobby and Wilson and for a sermon

31:28

and justice for the Jig By and Jamison? Where's like

31:30

that that makes all the difference in the world to

31:32

be successful in college and the things that more difficult

31:34

for me in the Nfl? I just feel it's across

31:36

the board. The. Coaching staff, the players,

31:38

the players in college scouting reports that the

31:40

craft progress against my across the board has

31:43

all these different reasons why. You.

31:45

Can trust in the idea

31:47

that Taleb Williams. Will. Go

31:49

differently than how it went with Mr.

31:52

Biscayne, Justin Fields. There's no guarantee. That.

31:54

He's a Hall of famer or the greatest quarterback and

31:56

Bears history or any is not a guarantee that he

31:58

doesn't bust. By. Thing it a lot

32:00

easier. To look at this year's quarterback

32:02

pick. And. Say okay. Am

32:05

I just falling for the same trap of bears

32:07

draft a quarterback early and I I put on

32:09

the orange colored the Origin Navy goggles and look

32:11

past all the red flags because I want to

32:14

love him. Or. Is this

32:16

actually different this time around? And

32:18

to me, it's pretty clearly actually

32:20

different. This. Time Around. And

32:22

I feel like I'm ready to trust that. Okay, Different.

32:25

Process should mean different results.

32:28

It's not same process, same result

32:30

is now in a different attempt different

32:32

approach to quarterback different kind of

32:34

quarterback, different quarterbacks team that is coming

32:37

into like they can expect different results.

32:39

Different was also the mean perfect

32:41

results. But. It should mean different
