I was initially going to wait till I listened through all of their episodes to date before giving them a review, but it has gotten to the point where I am legitimately angry at this complete waste of my time. My expectation was that I would learn new things about the WH40K lore, things usually only discussed in the many books, while listening to that podcast. And episodes 1-4, in spite of their dripping "dur-hurh, female spass marinz is gaiiiii boiiis" it did seem to stick to that. Then, it became more of a recitation of the contents of the various codexes and them spazzing about their personal creations and fan lore. That became vastly more irritating, because the same way female custodes doesn't fit in their appreciation of WH40K, neither does their fanfiction, or the listener fiction they present, fit in mine. Finally I skipped ahead past episode 61 or so to the episode about Lion El'Jonson. My thought was: "Maybe they are still laying down the foundations in these first 100 episodes, and then it gets good". Queue Mark (one of the hosts) saying "Nah, we just reading from the codexes, and the wiki, we ain't got time to be reading the actual books". Motherfucker: if I wanted to read the codexes and wiki, I would grab the codexes and get to reading the wiki; why would I listen to you badly read off the words on the screen? You bring no extra value, not in the way you read the information you can find for free basically anywhere, nor in the way you share the fruits of your own imagination, which I'm not going to sandbag, but I don't give a flying fuck about. YouTube shorts on WH40K give more lore than "Lorehammer". What a goddamn joke. And that's before I (again) factor in the crusted beard flavored misogyny and homophibia that oozes from this (maybe you, prospective listener, are into it; spoiler: even with that it offers nothing). I couldn't even use this podcast as background noise while getting drunk.
