In 1842 Francisco Lopez discovered gold while foraging wild onions near an oak tree in Placerita Canyon, initiating the California gold rush. In 1965 Don Buchla introduced his 100 series modular synthesizer at the San Francisco Tape Music Center. These histories are entangled and ongoing.
