Eleazar Ruiz has been designing, writing, and creating for the local church in various mediums his entire life. Eleazar grew up in a creative and theatrical home in the Dominican Republic and moved to the U.S. in 2009. He and his wife Bekah live in the Portland, Oregon area. Along with his brother, Rommel, they founded Patrol, a team of storytellers and artists producing books which tell fiction and non-fiction stories inspired by the Bible.

During the summer of 2018, Eleazar transitioned into his new role as the Creative Director at Humble Beast. Our Managing Editor, Jackie Crane, spoke with him about the role of creativity in the church and one of Patrol’s latest projects, The Gospel In Color, a guide for families to talk about racial reconciliation.
