While volunteering in underprivileged communities in Cairo an idea sparked in Radwa Rostom's mind. That was to build ‘humane’ housing for the marginalized, using eco-friendly materials. It sat in her mind as she pursued numerous different working positions to acquire the skills she needed to make this idea a reality. In October 2015, Hand Over was born, a social enterprise that builds sustainable, resilient and affordable houses for low-income families in Egyptian slums. Today, Hand Over is an award-winning enterprise transforming Egypt's construction industry and changing the lives of many. Together with our host, Christian Ehl, they discuss the importance of having a calling, human-centred design and what it is going to take to make the planet great again.
