In today’s MALU episode, we ask two young Singaporean environmentalists (Pamela Low and Woo Qiyun) what they think of Greta Thunberg’s local impact. Has Greta really made a difference?
We also talk about what the Government of Singapore / Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources have done to promote sustainability practices in Singapore – and what more we can do to protect the Earth and our environment via a circular economy and other practices.
In addition, we discuss (potential?) contradictions between our economic pursuits as a country – specifically, e-commerce – and promoting a sustainable lifestyle among Singaporeans. We also discuss if sustainability is a matter of privileged (i.e. is it easier for a rich person to be 'sustainable' vs someone less privileged?)
