HOSTEL FRANCHISE MARATHON

This one's for the girls.
A feminist masterpiece? Not quite. But this follow up is a nice counterpart to the heavily dude-oriented first film, with possibly a lot more to say: about female-focused objectification, uber-rich greed, and incel culture.

'Hostel: Part II' sees us go back to Slovakia, with a trio of adventurous young women. Obviously, they have a trip full of friendship, fun and pictures of tourist destinations; and none of the women get tortured (spoiler alert: some do actually).

Rhys and Kane dive into this surprisingly strong sequel, exploring how the  choice to follow female protagonists alters the lens of the story and makes this entry a totally different beast to our original.
