COBB CFO: Truist Park Continues to Exceed Financial Expectations

Truist Park and The Battery Atlanta have notably surpassed financial expectations, as reported by Cobb County's Chief Financial Officer, Bill Volckmann. The project has yielded higher property tax revenues than the county's annual general fund contribution towards its debt, which was significantly lower than the anticipated $6.4 million. Property values of The Battery soared from $5 million in 2014 to $767 million in 2023, contributing to $28.3 million in sales tax revenue last year, benefiting the county, the Cobb County School District, and the state of Georgia. Additionally, plans are underway to expand Atlanta United's Marietta training facility and construct a new pedestrian bridge to The Henry, enhancing the area's infrastructure. With over 10.3 million visitors in 2023, the success of Truist Park and The Battery has been well-received by Cobb County commissioners, underscoring its positive impact on the local economy and community.
