It's all quiet in
0:02
the underground bunker. Doors
0:05
closed, blocks bolted. But
0:07
the Great One isn't just resting on
0:09
his laurels. He's making sure
0:12
your weekend is even better by giving
0:14
you his best. This is
0:16
the best of Mark Levin. I
0:21
went to California over the weekend to
0:25
go to a fantastic event at the Claremont Institute. I
0:28
have deep and long ties to the Claremont Institute.
0:32
They have a Lincoln Fellow
0:35
program, and other programs since. And I
0:39
was in the first class of that
0:41
Lincoln Fellow program. Good Lord! It's
0:44
got to be more 35 years ago, give
0:46
or take. And
0:48
at that time, the president of Claremont was Larry
0:51
Arnn, who's the president of Hillsdale College. And
0:54
I want to thank them for a very kind
0:58
reception, all the people who were there. I
1:01
want to thank them for giving me the Statesmanship
1:03
Award, which is a
1:05
big deal there at Claremont, and for me, and I appreciate
1:07
it. As you can
1:09
tell, I sound a little under the weather, because I'm a lot
1:12
under the weather. It
1:14
never fails. Because when you
1:16
meet a lot of great people, they want to talk
1:18
to you, shake your hand, and you get to smell
1:20
their breath, Mr. Producer. I
1:23
mean, right in your face. And
1:25
so, here I am. Now that
1:28
said, it was a room of
1:30
tremendous patriots. And
1:33
honored to be with them. And
1:35
I want to thank Molly Hemingway and her
1:37
wonderful husband, Mark. Had
1:39
a great time. We were at the table together,
1:41
and she introduced me, and she is fantastic. I
1:45
was sitting next to Mr.
1:48
and Mrs. John Eastman, which
1:51
was also a great honor. History
1:54
will deal with what was done to him. It's
1:57
not possible for the
1:59
body politic. to deal with it today.
2:02
It's so corrosive and so
2:04
tyrannical. But
2:07
all through the weekend and before, I do
2:10
my research. It's nonstop. I
2:13
did it right up to the beginning of this program. I
2:16
do it until two, three, four in the morning. One
2:19
of the things I found about
2:22
48 hours ago is
2:24
when I go to this site memory, which I told you I encourage
2:26
you to do, mmori.org.
2:32
I found this protest at
2:34
something called the International Out Cuds,
2:37
Out Cuds, that's Iranian, rallying
2:40
Dearborn, Michigan on Friday.
2:45
And just to show you how important you
2:47
are and how important we are, I
2:50
posted it on my social sites,
2:53
Twitter and then the rest. And
2:56
it started to work its way through social media,
3:00
through independent conservative news organizations, and
3:02
then finally into Fox. It
3:07
is not something that you see on NBC or
3:09
ABC or any of the Sunday shows, not one.
3:13
It's not something you'll see in most of the Democrat
3:16
Party newspapers either, because
3:18
they want to conceal what's going on in this country. And
3:22
what's going on in this country, we don't know the extent
3:24
of it, we don't know the numbers, but we know it's
3:26
there, we know it's growing. It's
3:28
an enemy from within. American
3:32
hating, Israel hating, Christian
3:34
hating, Jew hating, Islamists.
3:37
I didn't say Muslims, I didn't say
3:40
Arabs, I said Islamists. Islamists
3:45
are radicals. Islamists
3:48
are violent. Islamists
3:50
threaten. Islamists commit acts of
3:54
violence. I've
3:58
told you over and over again, if you hate America, hate
4:00
Israel, if you hate Israel, you hate America. And
4:04
this has demonstrated so clearly
4:07
and so utterly. And
4:10
so I'm not looking for any of
4:13
these news organizations or internet organizations
4:16
or cable channels to say, oh, here's where we
4:18
got it from. But I
4:20
got it from memory.org, M-E-M-R-I dot
4:23
org, and I pushed it
4:25
out into the media. It's important
4:29
to see what we post. I
4:31
don't engage in the comments because
4:34
so many of them are bots who
4:38
stick stuff in there, and I don't really care. So
4:42
let's begin. You need to
4:44
understand that Joe
4:47
Biden has sent senior campaign
4:50
operatives into Dearborn, Michigan to try and protect his
4:54
vote. This is Rashidat Ali territory. That he
4:56
is utterly destroying the
4:59
state of Israel,
5:03
its government, the prime minister to the extent he
5:05
can on behalf
5:07
of these individuals because he wants their votes.
5:12
And it's the same Joe Biden that threw in the
5:14
Senate's favorite
5:17
Klansmen when
5:20
he first got to the Senate. Now
5:23
he's throwing in with Hamas, Nazi supporters,
5:27
Iran supporters, and
5:30
American haters. Let's go on and go. We've
5:36
been asked in the past, why
5:39
are our protests on the International Day
5:41
of Quds, why are
5:44
they so anti-America? Why don't
5:46
we just focus more on Israel and not
5:48
talk so much about America? The
5:53
Gaza has shown the entire world why these
5:55
protests are so anti-America because it's the
5:59
United States' day of Quds. government that provides the
6:01
funds for all of the atrocities that we
6:03
just heard about. And this
6:06
is why Imam Khomeini who declared
6:08
the International Day of Quds, this
6:10
is why he would say to
6:12
pour all of your chance and
6:14
all of your shouts upon the
6:16
head of America. Now understand folks,
6:20
Quds is the, it's
6:22
like the SS of Iran. When
6:27
you see commercials, tunnels
6:31
to towers, wounded warriors, these other
6:33
fantastic groups, and
6:35
these men without limbs, some of
6:38
them with horrendous brain damage and so forth, the
6:41
Quds were behind most of that. The
6:44
Quds, particularly as
6:46
it applies to the
6:49
war in Iraq. And
6:53
I want you to understand that this
6:55
person and these people who are rallying
6:57
to this cause are the
6:59
enemy. They're
7:01
a domestic enemy. And
7:04
if we had a real administration that
7:06
cared about our country, our country's security,
7:09
our country's future, they would be looking at
7:11
the status of each one of these individuals. If they're
7:13
a citizen, if
7:16
they seek citizenship, or
7:18
if they're not a citizen and deal with
7:20
them accordingly. And let me suggest
7:23
to the FBI, rather than infiltrating the
7:25
Catholic Church, which is
7:27
not a danger to anybody, you
7:30
need to get your head around and your hands around
7:32
what's going on in Dearborn, Michigan in places just like
7:34
it. These
7:36
are no go zones in America now. I
7:38
talked about this last week. These
7:40
are no go zones. Certain
7:44
people of certain faith with
7:47
certain symbols on their clothing or on their heads
7:49
or certain facial hair. They
7:53
can't go into these areas. It's
7:56
like the suburbs of Paris. around
8:00
London and
8:02
Berlin. It's
8:05
here right now. This
8:08
is who's in the streets with the
8:10
American Marxist from our
8:13
universities, our faculties, who
8:15
are marching down the streets. They don't represent America.
8:17
They hate America. Did
8:19
you hear Joe Biden say a word about
8:21
this today? Not a word. When's
8:25
the last time he stood up against these
8:28
Islamists and
8:30
talked about anti-Semitism in this
8:33
country? Never. Never. Has
8:37
Chuck Schumer talked about this? Not a
8:39
word. How came
8:41
Jeffries? Not a word. Instead,
8:45
we get Nancy Pelosi who signed a letter
8:47
with 37 other clowns insisting
8:50
that the Biden administration literally
8:52
cut off arms to the state
8:54
of Israel. I heard
8:59
a friendly voice on TV today, not
9:02
one of us, conservative, but a friendly voice say,
9:05
all Biden wants to know is what is Israel's exit
9:07
strategy and present it to them? Let
9:09
me explain something. Israel has no exit
9:11
strategy. That's their country. That's
9:15
their country. There's nowhere to go. They're
9:18
surrounded. As
9:21
I speak, missiles keep getting fired in
9:23
still from Gaza. Missiles are fired in
9:26
from Lebanon. Imagine living under these circumstances,
9:29
day in and day out, day in and
9:31
day out. This is an advanced, democratic, Judeo-Christian
9:34
country. It's a Western country
9:36
surrounded in many cases by
9:39
barbarian terrorists and barbarian terrorist
9:41
regimes. And I would add
9:43
as a footnote, ladies and gentlemen, if
9:45
you've been checking these information out
9:48
the last two days, Hamas and
9:50
Qatar are now trying
9:52
to overthrow the King of Jordan. Right
9:58
now with the backing of Iran. It's
10:00
no two-state solution issue. This
10:04
is a worldwide effort. I've talked to you about this
10:07
before. This is a second
10:09
Muslim crusade. Now by that I don't mean Muslims
10:12
who obviously aren't involved in this. I'm
10:14
talking about people,
10:16
Islamists, using
10:19
the Muslim faith to
10:22
try and conquer the world. In
10:25
one town after another, one state after another,
10:28
hell, one country after another. And
10:30
look at the influence they have in the United States today.
10:33
Look at the influence they have in the American media. Look
10:36
at the influence they have in the Democrat party. Look
10:38
at the influence they have in the White House, in
10:40
the State Department, in the Defense Department. They
10:43
have far more influence than
10:45
any Jewish organization or Christian
10:48
organization. They
10:52
have an enormous amount of control and influence. Continue,
10:59
please go ahead. Now
11:08
come, I said, and I
11:10
quote, we live in one
11:12
of the raw, inest countries that has ever existed
11:15
on this earth. I love it when people with
11:17
thick accents in this country, they don't have to
11:19
be here. Or maybe they're
11:22
second generation, talk about how horrible America is. You
11:24
need to hear this. You need to understand what's
11:26
going on. You're not going to see
11:28
it on MSNBC or CNN. You're not
11:30
going to see it on CBS, NBC or ABC. You're
11:32
not going to see it on the Sunday shows. You're not
11:35
going to read about it in the front pages of the
11:37
New York Times or the Washington Post. You
11:39
are not. And yet this
11:41
is what's going on. This
11:43
is what's going on. And
11:46
this is what Biden has responded to and Blinken is
11:48
in support of. Blinken is in support of this. As
11:53
are the Marxists, the Bernie Sanders, the
11:55
AOC, the overthrow of America. That's
11:58
their wet dream. Go ahead. Joe
12:01
that has to go, it's the
12:03
entire system that has to go.
12:05
Any system that would allow such
12:07
atrocities and such devilry to happen
12:10
and would support it, such a
12:12
system does not deserve to exist
12:14
on God's earth. And
12:16
so when these fools ask us
12:18
if Israel has the right to
12:20
exist, the chant death to Israel
12:22
has become the most logical chant
12:24
shouted across the world today. Cut
12:28
to. Yvonne
12:31
Chomeini recognized that Israel
12:33
is an evil settler
12:36
colonious project. He
12:39
realized it is a cancer and
12:42
he established this day. Israel before
12:44
this brothers and sisters was a
12:46
sacred cow. Nobody
12:49
could criticize Israel. Everybody was
12:51
terrified of being anti-Semitic. Everybody
12:54
was afraid of them. But
12:56
now the people of conscience
12:58
very openly will criticize Israel.
13:01
They recognize Israel for what it is. Israel
13:04
is ISIS. Israel
13:06
are, they are Nazis. They
13:09
are all fascists. They are racist. The people
13:11
of the world now know this. I believe
13:15
that was an imam. Again,
13:18
I want you to bookmark memory.org, memri.org.
13:20
You'll be way ahead of the knowledge
13:24
game before any
13:26
of these other news outlets. Even
13:29
think about reporting this. And
13:32
the border is wide open. People coming
13:35
in, including from the Middle
13:37
East, you have to assume
13:39
a certain percentage of them hate the country. You
13:43
have to assume a certain percentage of people coming into
13:45
this country from wherever they are want
13:48
to do violence to this country. And
13:51
when you heard these two, these
13:53
two rat-think reprobates, I
13:57
wanted you to know that these are the people of
13:59
the world. people that Joe Biden is
14:03
carrying favor with. And
14:06
he never says a damn thing, nothing.
14:10
And the FBI knows what's going on in Dearborn,
14:13
Michigan. And
14:15
when the editor of memory.org wrote
14:17
his piece in The Wall Street Journal,
14:20
the rest of the media attacked him. Because
14:23
the rest of the media are
14:25
perfectly comfortable with this. Their silence
14:28
speaks a thousand volumes. Right
14:31
Jake Tapper? Right
14:33
Wolf Peltzer? Right
14:38
Joe and Mika Scarborough? Mark Lofin.
14:44
In today's digital age where cyber
14:46
threats loom larger than ever, safeguarding
14:48
your personal information is paramount. So
14:50
why is Congress considering a law
14:52
that could put your credit card
14:54
data at greater risk of being
14:56
hacked and exposed to foreign networks?
14:59
This Durban Marshall credit card bill
15:01
could jeopardize your financial data, make
15:03
it more susceptible to cyber intrusions.
15:06
It's a controversial bill that proposes
15:08
a shift in billions of dollars
15:10
worth of consumer transactions to payment
15:12
networks that lack the robust security
15:14
measures consumers rely on. Who could
15:17
possibly want that? Well the answer,
15:19
woke corporate megastores seeking to inflate
15:21
their multi-billion dollar profit margins. The
15:24
Durban Marshall credit card bill will
15:26
undermine our safe and convenient
15:28
payment systems and endanger your data
15:31
security. It's time to take a
15:33
stand. Visit electronicpaymentscoalition.org. Make your voice
15:35
heard. Tell your senators to oppose
15:38
the radical Durban Marshall credit card
15:40
bill paid for by the electronic
15:42
payments coalition. Making
15:49
your weekend even better, this
15:52
is the best of Mark
15:54
Levin. So the state of Nebraska
15:56
with just a couple of electoral votes is crucial.
16:00
You know Maine does what Maine does
16:02
but Nebraska has the same bizarre system.
16:06
They assign an electoral vote to each of
16:08
their congressional districts, each of the two.
16:10
One of them is a Democrat district
16:12
in Omaha and
16:15
yet the Republican always wins a
16:17
significant majority in Nebraska so it's
16:20
set up in a way that the Republicans
16:22
lose an electoral college vote and
16:25
so there's a movement of a foot to fix that. So
16:30
when Donald Trump wins Nebraska he's not
16:32
assigned one electoral vote and Biden won
16:34
electoral vote. Notice none of the dark
16:37
blue states do that because
16:39
it's stupid. Notice
16:42
none of the other red states do what Maine
16:45
has done because it's stupid but
16:48
it was done about 30 years ago so it's
16:50
time to fix it. The
16:53
problem is you do have some foot draggers in the
16:55
Republican Party. I know it seems insane but you do
16:59
and time for the legislature is running out
17:01
so what do you do? Well the governor
17:03
needs to call a special session, emergency session
17:05
of legislature and get this legislation passed. You
17:09
know damn well if there was a Democrat running the
17:11
show under these circumstances they do whatever they have to
17:13
do and
17:15
so I want to encourage you my fellow
17:18
Patriots that for
17:20
once we have something that we can do rather than
17:23
wring our hands and wine. And
17:26
I'm going to look for more and more opportunities like this
17:28
as well. I
17:30
want you to get engaged. You
17:33
can even sit at your chair you don't have to even move. I
17:37
want you to get engaged and
17:39
here's what I want you to do. The
17:42
governor's office has closed today it's in Nebraska.
17:45
I'm going to hand you his number as
17:47
well as the link to his office and
17:49
that contact information as
17:51
well. We're going to post it on all
17:55
my platforms including Twitter and
17:57
all the rest and I'm
17:59
also going to mention them to you so
18:02
you can go ahead and use them. Now
18:05
obviously with the link
18:07
to the governor's office there's other ways to communicate with his
18:09
office other than by phone. If you call now you're just
18:11
going to get, and I tried it, a recording
18:14
saying the office is closed and so forth. And earlier today
18:16
they shut the phone off so you couldn't even get through
18:18
that way. But there are other ways if you go to
18:20
the link on
18:23
the website. And again we will post them but I want to
18:25
tell you what they are. And again we
18:28
need a mass, live in, surge
18:31
tomorrow if you're
18:33
calling by phone, tonight if you're using the
18:35
link to the website of the governor's office,
18:39
to politely and civilly urge
18:41
him, governor, governor,
18:45
you need to call special session of the
18:47
legislature and
18:49
change the way the electoral votes are
18:52
assigned in Nebraska. Winner
18:54
should take all. Encourage
18:56
him to do it. Encourage
18:58
him to do it. Here's
19:01
the number, again I'll post it so you don't have to
19:03
memorize it. 402-471-2244. Again,
19:07
402, if you're technocrats, 402-471-2244. 402-471-2244.
19:21
It will be on all our social platforms. As
19:25
well as you can go to the
19:28
site, the link of the
19:30
governor, governor.nebraska.gov. And
19:32
again that will be on all our social sites. Mr.
19:35
Producer is already putting it up if he hasn't already.
19:38
It's up. Governor.nebraska.gov, G-O-V,
19:41
it's Governor Jim Pullen,
19:44
or P-I-L-L-E-N and again just politely.
19:49
They need to fix their electoral college
19:52
count system there. We
19:56
can't lose this election by one electoral college
19:58
vote folks. It's just ridiculous. We
20:00
seem to do things that
20:03
are counterintuitive and counterproductive. As
20:06
I say, only two states do this. One
20:09
of them is Maine. Maine can
20:11
be problematic. Sometimes we win it, sometimes we don't.
20:13
But if we're asking, we win. And
20:16
we're handing one of the electoral college votes to the
20:18
Democrats every time. That's just
20:21
stupid. There's really
20:23
no rationale for this. That's not populism. We're
20:26
talking about a presidential election, not a congressional
20:28
election here. And
20:30
so you count the votes of the state and the people
20:33
of the state decide, not the people of Omaha. They
20:37
can participate like everybody else, but they shouldn't be
20:39
able to throw a presidential election in one direction
20:41
or another because they support a Democrat. So
20:45
again, I want to encourage you to do that. If you can't
20:48
remember the numbers, the link that I just told you, well,
20:51
we're all over the place. I want to
20:53
encourage you to do that. So this is an official second
20:55
Levin surge tonight. The
20:58
first one is to go to Ted cruz.org and please do whatever
21:01
you can to help the senator. He
21:04
is a leading light in the United States Senate. If
21:07
he's replaced by one of these left-wing Senate
21:09
Democrats who goes along with the most extremist
21:13
types from the state of Texas,
21:16
then you can't do that.
21:19
Most extremist types from the state of Texas. That'll
21:24
be a complete disaster in lieu
21:26
of Ted Cruz. Complete
21:29
disaster. And then
21:31
we need Nebraska. We
21:33
need Nebraska to get back in line
21:36
with the rest of us, with the rest of our
21:38
states and stop handing an Electoral
21:40
College to the Democrats. Electoral College votes are not
21:42
supposed to be handed out to cities. States
21:45
get them. It's the vote of the
21:47
states, not the vote of
21:49
pieces of the states. We
21:53
should be winning in
21:55
significant numbers in Nebraska and handing one Electoral
21:58
College vote to magnets. That's just ridiculous. So
22:00
I encourage you again
22:04
tonight if you want to use the link, but certainly
22:06
tomorrow with the call or the link if they unplug
22:08
the phone again to
22:11
contact the governor's office, the number again as
22:15
I pull it up here. Let's
22:18
see here, 402-471-2244, 402-471-2244 or you can go to
22:20
the website again, all this stuff
22:29
will be on my social sites. You
22:33
can go to the website, let's see
22:36
here Mr. Producer, here
22:38
it is, which is, what the
22:42
hell is it Rich, you just posted it here. Governor.Nebraska.gov,
22:53
and I think we may actually
22:56
have his email
22:58
address too. Let's say go
23:02
to contact info on the page, once you get
23:04
into the link and you'll have his email address.
23:08
Contact info on the page, not trying to complicate it, it's
23:11
actually quite simple. There's one link and
23:13
there's one phone number. If
23:15
you find you're blocked on one, use the other. If
23:17
you want to act tonight, use the link, not
23:20
the phone number, I think I spelled it out pretty
23:22
straight forward. It's very, very important that they call a
23:24
special session and get this done. It's
23:27
the Democrats' foot, alright. There's
23:30
no way I'm going to be able to cover all this.
23:32
It's a very important piece that nobody's even mentioned. It's
23:37
a piece by Aoi Ferdegrun and
23:40
Rand Kivitz. The
23:43
president's acknowledgment that a drone attack mistakenly killed
23:45
seven aid workers in Gaza has led to
23:47
renewed criticism of the Jewish state. The tragic
23:49
incident came less than three weeks after a
23:51
report issued by the Integrated
23:53
Food Security Phase Classification, I
23:55
don't know how that is, claimed
23:58
that 1.1. 1
24:00
million people nearly half the population
24:02
of Gaza face, quote, catastrophic food insecurity,
24:04
unquote. Conditions
24:07
at the northern Gaza will face
24:09
famine by May, if hostilities continue.
24:12
The European's high representative for foreign
24:14
affairs and security policy, Joseph Beral,
24:17
blamed Israel, saying starvation is used as a
24:20
weapon of war, Israel's provoking famine. US
24:23
officials unveiled a UN ceasefire resolution
24:25
that cited famine conditions after the
24:27
IPC report came out. But
24:32
Hamas, which has been hoarding food and
24:34
stealing from Gazans, is the root cause
24:36
of Gaza's suffering. As
24:38
Congressman Jim Hines, a Connecticut Democrat and
24:41
ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee
24:43
stating in a CNN interview, quote, Hamas
24:46
has a long history of stealing aid. He
24:48
used to stop that in the interest of the
24:50
people they prepared to represent. Well, that's a tough
24:52
message. Israel
24:55
has tried for years to balance its
24:58
interests with those of innocent Palestinians. Its
25:00
maritime blockade did not stop Gaza from
25:02
being self-sufficient in fruits and vegetables with
25:05
enough live over to potentially export. Despite the
25:08
war, three quarters of greenhouse acres were
25:10
still available as of February 15. So in
25:12
other words, they didn't take out the farms and everything. According
25:15
to a United Nations Food and Agriculture
25:17
Organization report, which has the
25:20
latest available data, Israel's coordination
25:22
of government activities in the territories
25:24
indicates that bakeries can still
25:26
provide over, quote, two million breads rolls
25:28
and pita breads a day. Since
25:31
the war began, the Israel Defense Forces have engaged
25:34
in what West Point Urban Warfare Studies chairman,
25:36
John Spencer, who was on my show the other
25:38
night, described as a
25:40
remarkable historic new standard for wartime treatment
25:42
of civilians, resulting in a
25:44
civilian to combat morality rate that
25:47
is historically low for modern urban warfare. He
25:51
said Israel regularly provides warnings of impending
25:53
attacks, assists with evacuations, even stops its
25:55
attacks on a daily basis to allow
25:57
humanitarian aid to arrive. As
26:00
I said at the top of the show, I didn't invent this
26:02
thought, but it's a brilliant thought. This
26:04
is the only war with a
26:06
victim that is now defending itself
26:08
and the annihilation of the perpetrator is
26:10
supposed to be feeding the perpetrator's population.
26:15
So Israel is not only fighting to protect
26:17
its citizens, it's supposed to be feeding the
26:19
citizens who voted in Hamas. Now
26:22
how many of you veterans out there, especially
26:24
combat veterans, have you ever seen
26:26
anything like this before? Despite
26:31
the recent tragedy, the IDF tries to ensure
26:33
that Gazans don't starve throughout the war. The
26:37
data show that 290,000 tons
26:39
of food and beverages have been delivered to Gazans
26:41
since October, recently as many as
26:43
200 truckloads a day. Full
26:46
distribution of these supplies would deliver about 1.82 pounds of
26:48
food daily for the
26:51
2 million people in Gaza. Based
26:55
on FAO estimates of the average daily
26:57
consumption in Asia and Africa where Gaza
26:59
is situated, this alone will be
27:01
enough to supply 50% of Gazans
27:03
daily consumption needs on top
27:05
of the food they continue to produce themselves. Israel
27:09
has also collaborated with America to provide
27:11
further aid. The Biden administration recently announced
27:13
plans to build an emergency pier that
27:16
would provide 2 million meals per day. This
27:18
idea was first suggested to Biden
27:21
by Netanyahu last October. Six
27:24
weeks after the war started by Netanyahu.
27:28
Unfortunately this is not the first time that
27:30
leaders have been misled about the data surrounding
27:32
the Israel-Hamas war. For example, policy
27:35
maker and news media have repeatedly cited
27:37
casually numbers we've talked about this ad
27:39
infinitum, taken from none
27:41
other than Hamas itself. And
27:44
of course Abraham Weiner who I brought on my
27:47
Fox show as well as this radio show, professed
27:50
a statistic state of science at
27:52
Wharton University of Pennsylvania. He
27:54
said the numbers aren't real. For one thing he writes
27:57
there's little variability in the daily reporting he
27:59
goes through. We've already done that But
28:02
Biden doesn't care. He doesn't care about facts. He does. He
28:04
doesn't want to believe any of that He's on a mission
28:07
and he wants to get a vote from the
28:09
Dear Bornestan Islamists We're now out
28:11
of the woods Talking
28:13
about destroying America from within the
28:16
enemy from within And
28:19
it goes on And
28:23
it goes on You're
28:32
listening to the best of Marc
28:34
Lavenne. There's a breaking story this
28:36
evening Which
28:39
kind of illustrates and underscores what I've been
28:41
talking about The
28:44
violent terrorist mindset in
28:48
the United States With
28:51
open borders and
28:54
the Democrat Party embracing if
28:58
not promoting But
29:00
certainly not condemning The
29:04
Islamist mindset that
29:06
is spreading like wildfire in this country From
29:09
one no-go zone to another We
29:13
played the memory video audio
29:16
for you folks Were
29:19
an Islamist Imam and some
29:22
other rat-fink We're talking
29:25
about destroying America that America
29:27
needed to be destroyed and they didn't quote Martin Luther
29:29
King. They quoted Malcolm X People
29:33
come into this country you have
29:35
a first generation and a second generation in the case
29:37
of those two people And
29:40
they come here to hate it I've
29:44
also spent months trying to explain That
29:48
this ideology is not
29:50
just about slaughtering the Jews although that certainly is
29:52
a priority It's
29:54
about destroying us Because
29:57
we're the most powerful force and not just
29:59
militarily but morally and
30:01
constitutionally that stands against these
30:05
Islamists. So
30:08
what happened today? From
30:10
Fox, FBI arrests Idaho 18-year-old for
30:12
violent plot to attack churches on
30:15
behalf of ISIS, Justice Department says.
30:19
They arrested an 18-year-old
30:21
in Idaho after uncovering his truly horrific
30:23
and violent plot to attack churches in
30:25
Coeur d'Alene this past weekend
30:27
on behalf of ISIS. Alexander
30:30
Mercurio is now facing a federal
30:32
charge of attempting to provide material
30:34
support or resources to
30:36
a designated foreign terrorist organization after the FBI
30:38
says he devised a plan to,
30:41
quote, incapacitate his father,
30:44
restrain him using handcuffs, steal his firearms
30:47
to use for maximum casualties, quote, unquote.
30:50
In an attack he had been planning
30:52
to carry out in northern Idaho, the
30:54
resort city in
30:56
northern Idaho, Coeur d'Alene, on Sunday. The
30:59
defendant allegedly pledged loyally to ISIS, sought
31:02
to attack people attending churches in Idaho,
31:05
a truly horrific plan which was detected
31:07
and thwarted by the FBI's Joint Terrorism
31:09
Task Force. FBI Director
31:11
Christopher Ray said in a statement, the
31:14
Department of Justice will continue to relentlessly
31:16
pursue, disrupt, and hold accountable those who
31:18
would commit acts of terrorism against
31:21
the United States. And
31:24
who are they? I
31:28
don't think you'll find them in the Catholic Church. I don't
31:30
think you'll find them in a temple, Jewish temple. Who
31:33
are they? In
31:37
a criminal complaint, the FBI says the
31:39
investigation began when Mercurio, who is a
31:41
resident Coeur d'Alene, quote, reached
31:43
out to confidential human sources online and
31:45
indicated his support for ISIS and terrorist
31:48
organizations. Mercurio
31:50
spread ISIS propaganda online and
31:53
solicited ISIS's involvement in
31:55
and approval of his propaganda efforts discussing travel
31:57
from the United States to join ISIS and
31:59
consider and planned ways to
32:01
support ISIS financially. His
32:04
attack plan involved using flame-covered weapons,
32:06
explosives, knives, a machete, a pipe,
32:10
and ultimately firearms. His
32:12
plan grew more precise as he eventually identified
32:15
the specific church and date on which he
32:17
planned to attack. And
32:19
they grabbed him the day before he was going to
32:22
attack. You
32:26
better get used to this. I don't
32:28
mean used to terrorism. I mean
32:30
used to these threats. And
32:34
the FBI is not going to be able to stop all of them. You
32:36
can't play defense. We have
32:38
an immigration system. Check that. We don't have
32:40
an immigration system. Any
32:42
would-be terrorist from the Middle East can slip right into this
32:44
country, and I guarantee you they have. We have
32:49
Soros prosecutors in this country that will not
32:51
prosecute individuals,
32:55
individuals who are recidivists, who
32:57
even do violent crimes.
33:01
You have coddling judges, but
33:04
worst off, you have a President of the United States who won't
33:06
stand up to
33:09
anti-Semitism. Instead, he spreads
33:11
it with his blood
33:13
libels day in and day out against the state of Israel.
33:17
Hamas doesn't fear Biden. Iran
33:19
doesn't fear Biden. Hezbollah, Houthis, they all
33:21
laugh. I
33:25
mean he's insisting that Israel provide
33:27
more food, more medicine
33:31
to people in Gaza, even though
33:33
Israel is trying to defeat their leadership.
33:36
And that leadership didn't shoot its way to the top.
33:39
That leadership was elected, and then they
33:41
shot their way to the top to stay there.
33:45
In fact, the so-called peaceful
33:47
Palestinians, Arafat's PLO, they're
33:51
talking about a united government. They
33:54
can just get their hands on Judea and Samaria, where
33:58
Hamas would have cabinet positions. No,
34:00
I bet you didn't know that. So
34:03
in the middle of all this, Joe Biden is actually
34:05
reaching out to
34:07
Dear Bornestan because he doesn't want to lose
34:09
the vote of the Rashida
34:11
Tlaib constituency. Of
34:18
course, the media are not going to report this. They'll
34:20
attack anybody who exposes it. They can
34:22
attack all they want. The truth is the truth. They
34:26
have no influence over people like me. As
34:28
a matter of fact, the more they attack, the more I push back. But
34:32
you are going to see much more of this because
34:37
of the rhetoric Biden uses because it's
34:40
now okay. Look, the heads of Hamas,
34:42
memory.org, interpreted
34:45
what they said. They
34:48
are celebrating the position of
34:50
the Democrat Party and
34:53
the American media and the Islamists
34:55
and Marxists in the streets. They're
34:58
celebrating it. It's open season now.
35:00
It's open season on the United States. It's open
35:03
season on Israel. Open
35:05
season. Dear
35:09
Bornestan, that's what I've been calling it because that's what it
35:11
is. The
35:14
propaganda that Joe Biden uses against
35:18
the state of Israel could be used by
35:21
skinheads. He's
35:23
a Muslim.
35:25
He's a Muslim. His
35:29
blood labels. And
35:32
of course, Anthony Blinken, his
35:35
family is bought and paid for by George Soros. For
35:38
him, this is ideological. He
35:40
doesn't really care. Everybody
35:43
said to me, he's actually Jewish. No, his
35:45
mother was Jewish, which
35:48
is fine. That's great. But he
35:50
has no connection to the Jewish faith. Most
35:54
grandparents or his great grandparents or one or more of
35:56
them had suffered through
35:58
the Holocaust, but that's not him. He
36:00
hasn't suffered through anything. And
36:03
so why is he playing FTSE with Iran? He wants
36:05
to create another Holocaust. Why
36:08
is he helping to fund Iran? I don't give a
36:10
damn about
36:13
his lineage. In fact,
36:15
that underscores what a complete insane
36:18
buffoon this ideologue is. Blinken
36:22
is a traitor. He
36:26
was involved in getting in the
36:28
first place in the Obama administration
36:30
as deputy secretary of state. He
36:33
was involved in that deal intimately that would ensure
36:35
that Iran would have nuclear weapons. And
36:37
all he's involved is secretary of state to ensure that Iran
36:39
has nuclear weapons. There's
36:42
not a single media outlet in America that
36:45
has asked Blinken or Biden, what
36:47
are he doing about the nukes that Iran is
36:51
developing? Even
36:54
on these surrogate sites. Mediate,
36:58
Media Matters, these Soros related or
37:00
Dan Abrams related site. Not a
37:02
word, nothing. And
37:06
so here's a case where
37:08
this guy was found out and nabbed. And
37:11
there'll be many cases where nobody's
37:13
found that and not nabbed and the horror will be
37:16
done. And
37:19
even today, Joe Biden has said nothing. He
37:23
said nothing and the comments were
37:25
made in Dear bonus then nothing. He
37:28
said nothing when those
37:30
Ivy poison Ivy League presidents or those
37:32
universities said what they said. He
37:34
said nothing.
37:37
No speech to the nation. No concern
37:39
at all. Mark. Make
37:52
sure we can even better. This
37:55
is the best of Mark Levin. You're
37:58
buying a nasty man who should never get it. been anywhere close
38:00
to the Oval Office. Again
38:03
today, listen to this one. Cut 4 Go. My
38:07
predecessor and his MAGA friends wanted, I
38:09
love the phrase that the language used,
38:11
they wanted to terminate the Affordable
38:14
Care Act. Terminate.
38:17
Well guess what? Killing millions of
38:21
Americans, take them off of health care. You
38:23
listen to this? Just stop a second. Killing
38:28
millions of Americans.
38:31
Donald Trump is not a philosophical conservative. When
38:33
it comes to
38:37
Medicare and Social Security, when
38:40
it comes to certain of these programs, health care
38:42
and so forth, he's
38:45
actually relatively liberal on these programs. And so
38:47
it's Joe Biden
38:50
that has the history. And I played the audio
38:52
for you repeatedly. I played the video
38:55
on Fox and on the Blaze. Who's gone after Social Security in 1984, 1987, 2004, 2007,
39:05
four times at least. Is Obamacare's God's gift? Most
39:08
people with Obamacare don't care
39:13
for it that much. Is that the only way to
39:15
go? No, there's options. There are other ways to address
39:17
this. So his view is if you don't support Obamacare,
39:20
you're going to kill millions of people.
39:22
Now they say we should elevate our political speech. Is this elevating
39:27
it? So so far Donald Trump is the greatest threat to
39:29
democracy. Donald Trump's going to
39:33
kill millions of people who are on Obamacare. Donald Trump's
39:37
going to kill millions of people who
39:39
are on Obamacare. Donald
39:42
Trump's going to destroy Social Security and
39:44
Medicare. Listen to this one. Cut five,
39:46
Mr. Producer, go. Now comes to Social
39:48
Security and Medicare, my predecessor recently said,
39:50
quote, there's a lot you can do
39:53
in terms of cutting. What he's talking
39:55
about is fraud. He's
39:57
never supported cutting it. So Biden is a lot of
39:59
people. lying again. It's Biden. That's
40:03
the history of Biden in the Senate, who
40:08
over and over again talked about that. But
40:11
listen, listen to his propaganda. Go
40:13
ahead. I love it.
40:15
Right on cue, House Republicans released
40:17
their budget that would raise the
40:19
retirement age of Social Security. Now
40:23
what it would do is a proposal that's
40:25
been on the table for three or four
40:27
decades. That
40:30
is, for people who are say 40, 45
40:33
years old, they'd raise the retirement age by a
40:35
couple years because Social Security is going broke. Trump
40:39
has not endorsed that. I
40:42
endorsed that. Would
40:44
you rather be eligible
40:47
for Social Security at 67 rather than 65 or not
40:49
have any Social
40:51
Security whatsoever? That's the issue. But
40:54
you can't have a rational debate when
40:56
you have a guy like Biden. Biden can only win. Listen.
41:01
So just listen to this. So Trump
41:03
wants to destroy democracy. Trump
41:06
wants two million people to die. Trump
41:09
wants people on Social Security
41:12
to go without. He wants people Medicare
41:14
to go without. Where's this coming from? It's
41:19
coming from a man who has used
41:21
these tactics to character assassinate people before
41:23
as chairman of the Foreign
41:25
Affairs Committee, as chairman of the Senate Judiciary
41:28
Committee. Use these tactics against
41:31
Robert Bork, against Clarence Thomas. He used
41:33
these tactics against all kinds of nominees
41:35
for district and circuit judgeships.
41:40
He uses these tactics when he runs for office
41:42
or did in the Senate. And
41:47
the media will let him get away with it.
41:49
He talks about the greatest debt in American history
41:51
due to Trump because of tax cuts. The
41:56
problem, or not tax cuts, the problem is spending.
42:00
Everybody said this, even some people on the left
42:02
have said this, but
42:04
he doesn't care. He's got Pinocchio's
42:07
coming out of his ass from
42:10
these fact checkers who say, no, no, no, that's not what
42:12
happened. He doesn't care. And
42:17
this is how he hopes to win. He
42:22
might. Because
42:25
an appellate judge today
42:29
ruled that the case brought
42:31
by Alvin Bragg in front of a corrupt
42:34
judge, intellectually, politically corrupt, I'm
42:36
not saying he's taking money, I'm saying he's
42:39
a hack, a
42:42
case that never should have been brought, a case
42:44
that was turned down three times by the Federal
42:46
Election Commission, the U.S. Attorney's Office, and his own
42:48
office, that
42:50
it should go forward. April
42:53
15th. April
42:56
15th. That's
43:00
six days from today, six days. President
43:05
Trump will be brought before a phony judge,
43:08
phony court, phony prosecutor,
43:12
phony jury, they'll go through
43:14
the motions, 34 counts,
43:17
I believe it is, 34, all they need is
43:19
one. Jury
43:23
your peers, not a jury of left-wing Democrats
43:25
in Manhattan, no, it doesn't matter. Doesn't
43:30
matter. And of course they'll have a right to appeal,
43:34
but it'll be too late between the media and the
43:37
way Biden talks and the rest. And
43:39
they know this. If
43:46
I had to sum up Joe Biden, I'd
43:49
say he's a low life. That's basically what he is,
43:51
he's a low life. And
43:53
I hope everybody regurgitates exactly what I
43:55
said, friend and foe alike. He's
43:58
always been a low life. Always
44:02
been a low life. Anything from
44:05
power. He has no real world experience. He
44:07
gets elected when he's 29, sworn
44:09
in when he's 30. He's immediately part
44:11
of the segregationist racist wing of the
44:13
Democrat Party. Now he's part
44:15
of the Marxist fascistic wing of the Democrat Party.
44:18
Not all that far apart if you give it really serious
44:20
thought. So
44:23
he's going to run a lie. Real
44:28
terrorists have been pardoned by
44:31
Jimmy Carter, by
44:35
Bill Clinton, by Barack Obama. Real
44:37
terrorists. Barack Obama,
44:39
as I said, was best friends with a domestic
44:41
terrorist. Two of them. Actually
44:44
three of them. Three
44:46
of them. Joe
44:49
Biden is the biggest slaver in American history. That's
44:51
what I would run on a commercial. 100,000
44:56
Americans dead and he pretends he cares about civilians.
45:01
Just not American civilians. Just not Haitian
45:03
civilians. Just not only civilians he cares
45:05
about. Oddly enough for those
45:08
who voted for a terrorist regime. And
45:12
after attack, after attack, murder, after murder,
45:14
after murder, Israel finally said we've had
45:16
enough. We're taking you out. Biden
45:18
says no you're not. In
45:21
fact we're going to build a port for
45:23
the Gazans. And
45:26
we're going to destroy our 76 year relationship
45:28
with Israel. Because
45:31
I need those votes out of Michigan. Look I'm
45:33
buying votes left and right with student loan forgiveness
45:35
even though it violates the Constitution in a Supreme
45:37
Court order. A direct order that said no. I
45:42
will continue to push the top of the state
45:44
of Israel. I will continue to fund Iran to
45:46
attack Israel and the United States if I have
45:48
to. I
45:51
will continue to keep the border open so we
45:54
can keep importing future Democrats. To be honest that's
45:56
what's going on here. What
46:01
do I give a damn about Israel? What do
46:03
I give a damn about the southern border?
46:07
All that matters is my election. Power.
46:09
That's all I've ever done. That's all I've ever
46:11
pursued in my entire life from speaking as Biden.
46:15
Election after election, power after power. That's
46:20
what he's doing. Look
46:23
at the things he says about Trump. He doesn't even call
46:26
out the Islamists from the other day. Not a word. Nothing.
46:31
The presidents of these universes, not a word. Nothing.
46:34
Zero. The
46:37
little crystallinox going on all over the country, not
46:39
a word. Nothing. No
46:42
go zones now popping up across him, not
46:44
a word. Nothing. Zero. The
46:50
greatest danger to you, my fellow
46:52
Americans, is Joe Biden. He's
46:54
destroying our economy. He's
46:57
destroying our supply chain. He's destroying our
46:59
energy system. He's
47:03
destroying small business. He
47:09
wants to tax you into oblivion. He
47:13
wants your money. The only reason they want
47:15
to raise taxes is so they can control you. So
47:18
they can control what you earned. Inflation,
47:22
he denies there's inflation. I'd ask
47:24
you, is there inflation? We know that food prices have gone up
47:26
40%. Since
47:30
the end of 2009, 40%. $100
47:37
in groceries in a
47:39
grocery basket today is $140. He doesn't
47:41
care. You're
47:44
paying for the food that he puts in his big mouth. You always have. Or
47:49
the communist Chinese have, one or the other. So
47:53
Trump is a threat to democracy. Was
47:56
he a threat to democracy when he was president for four
47:58
years? He was at a single court order. he
48:00
violated. None. Zero.
48:02
They tried to take him out from day
48:04
one. Russia collusion, planning
48:07
stories, two phony impeachments, a criminal investigation
48:09
that came up with nothing because there
48:11
was nothing. It is endless. But
48:15
this is more than a war on Trump, it's a
48:17
war on you. Listen to the way he says, MAGA,
48:19
MAGA, make America great again. MAGA,
48:21
MAGA. He
48:23
hates you. He
48:26
despises you. He
48:29
doesn't care. Israel goes under, Israel goes
48:31
under. United States goes under, the United
48:33
States goes under. Remember what I keep telling you. For
48:36
a guy like Biden, it's party.
48:38
Party matters most. Power, power, power,
48:40
power. Like these communist regimes. The
48:43
country is nothing unless it's controlled by
48:45
their party, a monopoly party. That's what
48:48
we have.
48:50
A party that wants to change our election laws and
48:53
Schumer tries it every year right out of the box so
48:56
they can't lose. And
48:59
then they talk about voter suppression. The
49:01
party of voter suppression, talking about voter
49:03
suppression. They
49:06
have no respect for black people, none.
49:09
With the kind of propaganda and rhetoric they use
49:12
in black communities or focus on black
49:14
individuals, it's grotesque. While
49:16
he's horrible, fall but standing in the
49:19
schoolhouse doorway preventing little black kids from
49:21
getting the hell out of these lousy
49:23
schools. He's the one stopping him because
49:26
he doesn't believe in integration
49:28
in our public schools. He said so, but
49:30
he's changed. No. A
49:34
chameleon only changes for
49:38
their own purposes. He's not
49:40
changed. He's the same hateful bigot he's always
49:42
been. First
49:44
it was the blacks, now it's the
49:46
Jews. That's simple.
49:51
Democracy and freedom of the greatest threat is Trump.
49:55
Who do you think our enemies are rooting for? China
49:57
and Russia? Iran?
50:00
North Korea, they're rooting for Biden. Who
50:05
do you think the drug cartels are rooting for? They're rooting for
50:07
Biden. They've never had it so good. Who
50:11
do you think the communist regime in Cuba and
50:14
Nicaragua and Venezuela,
50:16
who do you think they're rooting for? Biden.
50:20
Of course. Who
50:22
do you think the prisoners, the
50:25
criminals in our jailhouses across the country
50:27
rooting for? Biden.
50:30
The American Marxists, the American Islamists, who are
50:33
they rooting for? Biden.
50:36
Biden. The
50:38
Democrats always win, Dearbornestand. Why is
50:41
that? Why
50:43
is that? It's
50:45
called a rhetorical question. Mark Levin. We're
50:54
giving you nothing but the
50:56
best, the best of Mark
50:58
Levin. I hope you're well. A
51:02
couple hours ago there was headline news,
51:04
Mr. Producer. I
51:08
believe it's the last day of Ramadan. Eid,
51:11
I think it's called. It's
51:17
Islam's holy month of fasting. There
51:20
was a shooting that occurred in
51:23
Philadelphia in the Parkside neighborhood. An
51:26
Eid event. Almost
51:29
a thousand people were there. It's a lot of people. There
51:35
were gunfire. People
51:39
got hit. It
51:42
was a terrible scene, as a matter of fact, in
51:45
a park. And
51:50
the media were all geared up. They
51:53
brought on ex-FBI agents, ex-police.
52:00
and others that
52:04
were, if not suggesting, certainly implying
52:08
that this was a shooting because
52:11
it was Ramadan, the last day of Ramadan,
52:14
and a thousand Muslims were
52:17
gathered in this one place. Now let me make something
52:19
abundantly clear. I have
52:24
nothing for contempt for anybody
52:27
who kills anybody, innocence,
52:32
period. I
52:36
have no problem whatsoever
52:39
with people who practice their faith peacefully,
52:44
period, and
52:50
the funny thing is, people
52:54
talk to me, the
52:56
person I work with at my bank is
52:59
a Pakistani Muslim, people
53:04
that I know quite well,
53:07
quite closely, and
53:09
all sorts of things that we do around this
53:11
house and we do around our
53:14
studio, Muslims, and
53:18
they are disgusted, many
53:21
of them, with the
53:23
Islamists because they threaten them too, but
53:28
stereotypes are created by the media. So
53:33
when you criticize Islamists, notice
53:35
I didn't say Muslims, when
53:37
you criticize Islamists, terrorists, who
53:39
push terrorist ideology, the
53:43
media want you to say Muslim. Now
53:48
the media were all geared up, they hit this
53:50
morning, noon, and night, it's disappeared totally from the
53:53
headlines now. Why?
53:59
Well now we know more facts. Two
54:01
factions, reports ABC News,
54:04
pulled out guns and started shooting at
54:06
each other at the outdoor gathering, according
54:08
to Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel. Thirty
54:11
shots were fired. A 22-year-old was shot in
54:13
the stomach during the gunfire. Juveniles self-transported to
54:16
a hospital with a gunshot wound to the
54:18
hand. Both were in stable condition.
54:25
An officer at the event shot a 15-year-old boy
54:28
who was allegedly armed with a gun, according to
54:30
Bethel, the teen was shot in the shoulder and
54:32
leg. The officer recovered the firearm and transported the
54:34
teen to a hospital. A child also fractured their
54:36
leg. They were hit by
54:38
a responding officer's car. Five people had been arrested
54:40
in connection with the shooting. They
54:42
include the 15-year-old who was shot by the
54:44
officer, as well as four suspects, three juveniles
54:46
and an adult who fled the scene
54:49
with guns, multiple guns, according to
54:51
Bethel, five weapons were recovered. A
54:54
motive remains unknown. But
54:58
they said two factions pulled out guns and started
55:00
shooting at each other. So
55:05
the headlines disappear because
55:09
the media wanted it to be something else.
55:11
They certainly thought it would be something else.
55:15
That's not to say that can't happen. There's a
55:17
lot of very evil people. A
55:20
lot of very evil people. Not
55:22
to say it can't happen, but it didn't. The
55:27
media, the American media, there's a lot being
55:29
said today about a
55:31
gentleman named Yuri Berliner, who's a very courageous
55:34
man. He's a veteran reporter,
55:38
employee of PBS, of
55:43
NPR, rather, and an
55:47
editor. He's worked
55:49
very closely with people who
55:51
worked there for a long time. Apparently,
55:53
he wrote a piece in the Free Press, which
55:56
I want to get to momentarily. raises
56:00
me. He doesn't tell us anything we
56:02
didn't know. The fact is that he's very brave
56:04
in coming out and telling us, reinforcing what we
56:06
already know. So I
56:09
would tell my colleagues in TV
56:11
and radio, it
56:14
wouldn't hurt you. It
56:17
wouldn't hurt you if you would actually educate
56:19
and inform yourselves more. Over
56:24
half a million of you read a book called Unfreedom
56:26
of the Press. You
56:29
know what's going on on the press
56:31
instinctively. It's common sense. And you also know
56:33
the history of it and the extent of it
56:35
because you read. They don't. Unfreedom
56:41
of the press is about how those entrusted
56:43
with news reporting in the modern media are
56:45
destroying freedom of the press from within. Not
56:48
governmental pressure or suppression, not President Donald
56:50
Trump's finger pointing, this was written several
56:53
years back, but present
56:55
day newsrooms and journalists, indeed
56:57
social activism, progressive group thing,
56:59
Democrat party partnership, opinion
57:01
and propaganda, passed off as news. The
57:04
staging of pseudo events, self censorship,
57:06
bias by omission and outright falsehoods
57:09
are too often substituting for old fashioned
57:12
objective fact gathering and news reporting. A
57:15
self perpetuating and reinforcing mindset is
57:18
replaced independent in a partial thinking.
57:21
And the American people know it. That's
57:23
the credibility. The mass media has never
57:25
been lower. This
57:28
book could easily have been 10 times in
57:30
its current length, but that would make it
57:32
unreadable for most. Nonetheless, meaning
57:34
as current length, it's unreadable for some
57:36
apparently. Much ground
57:39
is covered in research undertaken and many authors
57:41
and scholars consulted as the history of the
57:43
American press and the evidence of its decades
57:45
long demise are carefully examined.
57:49
The purpose of unfreedom of the
57:51
press is to jumpstart a long
57:53
overdue and hopefully productive dialogue among
57:56
the American citizenry and how
57:58
best to deal with the conflict complicated and
58:00
complex issue of the media's collapsing role as
58:03
a bulwark of liberty, the civil
58:06
society, and republicanism, ranging
58:08
from the early newspapers and pamphlets,
58:11
promoting the principles set forth in the
58:13
Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, to
58:16
the subsequent party press and transparent allegiance
58:18
to one party or the other, to
58:20
the progressive approach of so-called professional reporting
58:22
and now the ideologically driven
58:25
advocacy press of today. So
58:30
for those of you who read this, but this is not new. What's
58:34
new is the gentleman had the courage to come forward, for
58:37
which he should be thanked.
58:42
Unlike the early patriot press, today's
58:44
newsrooms and journalists are mostly hostile
58:46
to America's founding principles, traditions, and
58:49
institutions. They do
58:51
not promote free speech and press
58:54
freedom despite their self-serving and
58:56
self-righteous claims. Indeed, they
58:58
serve as societal filters attempting to
59:00
enforce uniformity of thought and social
59:02
and political activism centered on the
59:05
progressive, aka American Marx, as ideology
59:07
and agenda. Issues,
59:09
events, groups, and individuals that do
59:12
not fit the narrative are dismissed
59:14
or diminished. Those that do fit
59:16
the narrative are elevated and celebrated. Of
59:18
course, this paradigm greatly influences the culture,
59:21
the government, and the national psyche. It
59:24
defines a media-created reality, whether
59:26
or not it has a basis and true
59:28
reality, around which individuals organize
59:30
their thoughts, beliefs, and in some cases,
59:32
their lives. If
59:37
there is mystery and opacity, that's
59:40
around all of it. And
59:42
if one dares to question or criticize the motives
59:44
and work product of this enterprise or aspects of
59:47
it, that is, the reporting by
59:49
one or more newsrooms, the response is
59:51
often knee-jerk and emotionally charged, with
59:53
the Inc. or critic portrayed as
59:56
hostile to press freedom and the
59:58
collective media circling the wagon around
1:00:00
themselves. Bears
1:00:03
remembering that the purpose of a free
1:00:06
press, like the purpose of free speech,
1:00:08
is to nurture the mind, communicate ideas,
1:00:10
challenge ideologies, share notions,
1:00:12
inspire creativity and advocate, and
1:00:14
reinforce America's founding principles,
1:00:16
that is, to contribute to
1:00:18
a vigorous, productive, healthy, and happy individual
1:00:21
and to a well-functioning civil society and
1:00:23
republic. And
1:00:25
the media are to expose official actions
1:00:27
aimed at squelching speech and communication. But
1:00:30
when the media function as a propaganda
1:00:32
tool for a single political party and
1:00:34
ideology, they not only destroy their own
1:00:36
purpose, but threaten the existence
1:00:38
of a free republic. It
1:00:41
is surely not for the government to control the
1:00:44
press, and yet the press seems incapable of policing
1:00:46
itself. We must
1:00:48
remember, we are not merely observers. We
1:00:50
are the citizenry, we the people, for
1:00:53
whom this nation was established and for whom
1:00:55
it exists, in order to
1:00:57
form a more perfect union, establish justice,
1:00:59
ensure domestic tranquility, and I quote, provide
1:01:02
for the common defense, promote the general
1:01:05
welfare, and serve the blessings of liberty
1:01:07
to ourselves and our posterity. Hence
1:01:10
we must demand a media worthy of our great
1:01:12
republic. We begin
1:01:14
the process by informing ourselves about those
1:01:16
institutions and individuals and their practices and
1:01:19
standards, who by their
1:01:21
own anointment proclaim the high-minded obligation
1:01:23
of informing us. That's
1:01:26
the three-page introduction unfream of the press. It
1:01:28
only gets better after that. So
1:01:33
it is somewhat curious
1:01:40
that this book that was number one on the New
1:01:42
York Times best seller list a month or two, maybe
1:01:44
three. It
1:01:47
sold over half a million copies, received virtually
1:01:49
no notice on any
1:01:51
conservative newsroom other
1:01:54
than on the internet. Why
1:01:58
would that be? I'm not
1:02:00
saying opinions, opinion makers, I'm
1:02:02
talking about newsrooms. Knott
1:02:07
comes forward, Yuri Berliner, a veteran of
1:02:09
the public radio institution. And
1:02:12
he says the network lost its way when it
1:02:14
started telling listeners how to think. And
1:02:18
you already know this. What's
1:02:20
unique here is that somebody's come forward, still
1:02:23
works at NPR, so he
1:02:25
comes forward at personal, potential
1:02:28
personal attack
1:02:32
against him, and that's what they've started to do. And
1:02:36
he says in the free press, and
1:02:40
I will note that the New York Times opinion
1:02:45
page or book review section never
1:02:47
reviews my books. Not
1:02:50
when Barry Weiss was there, and Knott's sense.
1:02:53
And that's okay, they would just trash him anyway. He
1:02:57
said, you know the stereotype of the
1:02:59
NPR listener, an EV driving, worldly
1:03:02
playing, tote bag carrying, coastal elite.
1:03:04
It doesn't precisely describe me, but
1:03:07
it's not far off. I'm
1:03:10
Sarah Lawrence, educator, was raised by a lesbian
1:03:12
peace activist mother. I drive a Subaru,
1:03:15
and Spotify says my listening habits are
1:03:18
most similar to people in Berkeley. I
1:03:21
fit the NPR mold, I cop to that. So
1:03:24
when I got a job here 25 years ago,
1:03:26
I never looked back. As a
1:03:28
senior editor on the business desk where
1:03:30
news is always breaking, we've covered upheavals
1:03:32
in the workplace, supermarket prices, social media,
1:03:34
and AI. It's
1:03:36
true, NPR has always had a liberal
1:03:38
bent, but during most of my tenure
1:03:41
here, an open-minded, curious culture prevailed. We
1:03:44
were nerdy, but not knee-jerk activists or scolding.
1:03:48
In recent years, however, that has changed. Today,
1:03:50
those who listen to NPR or read its
1:03:52
coverage online find something different. The
1:03:54
distilled world view of a very small segment
1:03:56
of the US population. conservative
1:04:00
you will read this and say, duh, it's always
1:04:02
been this way. But it hasn't. Actually
1:04:05
it has. Maybe not at NPR.
1:04:08
But certainly in the last multiple
1:04:10
decades. For decades since
1:04:13
its founding in 1970, a wide
1:04:15
swath of America tuned into NPR
1:04:17
for reliable journalism in gorgeous
1:04:19
audio pieces with birds singing in the Amazon,
1:04:21
millions came to ask for conversations that exposed
1:04:24
us to voices around the country and the
1:04:26
world, radically different from our own,
1:04:29
engaging precisely because they were unguarded
1:04:31
and unpredictable. No image generated
1:04:33
more pride within NPR than the farmer listening
1:04:35
to Morning Edition from his or her tractor
1:04:38
at sunrise. Back
1:04:41
in 2011, although NPR's audience tilted a
1:04:43
bit to the left, it's still boring
1:04:45
resemblance to America at large. 26% of
1:04:47
listeners described themselves as conservative. 23% middle
1:04:50
of the road, 37% as liberal. By 2023, the picture was completely different.
1:04:52
Only 11%
1:04:59
described themselves as very or somewhat conservative. 21%
1:05:01
middle of the road, 67% were
1:05:05
very or somewhat liberal. We
1:05:08
weren't just losing conservatives. We were
1:05:10
also losing moderates in traditional liberals.
1:05:12
An open-minded spirit no longer
1:05:15
existed within NPR. Now, predictably, we don't
1:05:17
have an audience that reflects America. That
1:05:21
wouldn't be a problem for an openly
1:05:23
polemical news outlet serving a niche audience,
1:05:25
but for NPR, which purports to consider
1:05:27
all things, it's devastating both for its
1:05:29
journalism and its business model.
