0:12
up your marketing knowledge with your instructors,
0:15
Neil Patel and Eric Sue.
0:19
All right, guys, before we start, we got a special
0:21
message from our sponsor. If
0:24
you want to rank higher on Google, you gotta
0:26
look at your page speed time. The
0:28
faster website loads, the better off you
0:30
are with Google's Core Vital update.
0:33
That makes it super super important to optimize
0:35
your site for low time. And
0:37
one easy way to do it is use the host
0:40
that Eric and I use, dream Hosts. So
0:42
just go to dream host or Google it,
0:44
find it, check it out, and it's a great way
0:47
to improve your low time. Welcome
0:50
to another episode of Marketing School.
0:53
I'm Eric Sue and I'm Neil Pata,
0:55
and today we're going to talk about why you should
0:58
not create content daily unless
1:00
it meets this. What is this? So
1:03
the big thing that most people don't know about
1:05
content is all the algorithms
1:08
from social media like Facebook to
1:10
Instagram. It actually hurts
1:12
you to create content that people don't like because
1:15
If you keep pushing out content into your feeds
1:17
that no one is engaging with, it tells these platforms
1:20
that your content sucks. Your followers don't like it. So
1:22
then when you push out more content, even if it's
1:24
good, the likelihood of them seeing it are
1:26
slim to none because their algorithms that are starting to not
1:28
push stuff to them because they've already
1:30
told them that they're not interested. And the same
1:32
goes with SEO. If you write a ton
1:35
of mediocre content, then
1:37
Google's not going to want to rank it because there's so
1:39
many blogs out there, over a billion, they might as well
1:42
rank the stuff people want to read. On
1:44
your end, unless you can produce high
1:46
quality content, don't push it
1:48
on a daily basis, focus on the quality over
1:50
quantity. Yeah, I think
1:53
directionally I agree with that. I
1:55
think what I found interesting recently
1:57
looking at I think it was Gary Vee that said this,
2:00
So Gary v cranks out a ton of content. I think
2:02
there's different comparisons.
2:05
I think when you look at a long form blog
2:07
like backlink Go for example, that's like high
2:09
quality. You have to be very deliberate
2:11
with it. There's a lot of data that goes into it. Long
2:13
form again, it takes probably weeks or even
2:15
months to pump out a really great piece. When
2:18
I think about social media, this
2:20
all assumes that you've established a foothold
2:22
of decent quality content with one
2:24
channel first, and then you're starting to expand. I
2:27
think you can start to think about expanding
2:29
more because when I think about social media,
2:32
you don't necessarily need to have the highest
2:34
caliber of content because the feeds are just going all the
2:36
time, So you're better off throwing
2:39
more at bats and seeing what sticks.
2:41
And that's kind of the Gary v model. He's actually
2:43
mentioned that you go for decent
2:46
quality, high output, and if
2:48
you again, if you're like a backlink, go super
2:50
high quality, super well researched. You spend
2:52
more time, You're more deliberate there. So I think it just
2:54
depends on what you're doing exactly.
2:56
So I think again, when I think about us repurposing,
2:59
for example, recording that we're
3:01
doing right now, we're live right now, and these videos are
3:03
gonna be chopped up, we're gonna throw them onto repurpose
3:05
house, so we use repurpose House dot io, and
3:08
then they're gonna be decent chunks, right, decent
3:10
quality, and then they're gonna find a time stamps that
3:12
they're interesting, and we're just gonna throw them up on Instagram
3:15
or IGTV or YouTube or
3:17
Twitch or whatever. Probably not Twitch, but like
3:19
TikTok for example. And sometimes
3:22
like the ones that I don't expect to take off, they just
3:24
take off. So you never really know. Yeah,
3:27
one thing you keep in mind, I think Eric and I are pretty much
3:29
saying the same thing, just in different ways. If
3:31
you write a really long term blog plust like
3:33
a backlink, or even sometimes what I do on the olpatail
3:36
dot com, there's still no guarantee that I succeed.
3:38
It still is a hit or misapproach. Even
3:40
in content marketing with social media, if
3:43
you spend a lot of time on a video, it
3:45
doesn't mean it's gonna necessarily do well
3:47
or image or anything like that. So
3:49
in general, when you're doing content,
3:53
you want to end up putting out content that you genuinely
3:55
think people will like. When I say,
3:57
don't put out crap content every day, some
4:00
people just want to take
4:02
a random picture being like this looks cool.
4:05
Here's a cloud. Right. If your content
4:07
has no purpose and you're not going to get
4:09
much engagement, don't
4:11
put it out see with Gary Vee.
4:13
Yes, he's putting out a ton of content,
4:16
but overall the quality is good. And what I
4:18
mean quality, I'm not talking about he has to use
4:20
a professional equipment. It could just be his phone.
4:23
When I mean the quality is good in which
4:26
he's helping people. He's providing value with
4:28
his content. If you listen to something, it
4:30
may motivate you, it may inspire
4:32
you, it may teach you something new. Same
4:34
with Eric's content. So if you have purpose
4:36
behind it, the general rule of thumb is it's
4:39
going to be valuable to someone whether you create it in
4:41
one minute or you spend a month. And
4:44
whether you spend one minute on something or
4:46
a month, there's still no guarantee of success.
4:48
And that's why a lot of us do crank out
4:50
a lot of content, including me and Eric,
4:53
but we don't crank out content
4:55
for the sake of it. We do make sure no
4:57
matter what we create, no matter how little or
4:59
long of time we're spending on that content,
5:02
it's providing value to whoever is watching
5:04
it, listening to it, or even reading it. Cool.
5:07
So that is it for today. Just guys
