In 1979 Val participated in an arranged matching at the New Yorker Hotel, followed by the 2075 couple marriage blessing in 1982 at Madison Square Garden, then the largest mass wedding. After 30 yrs of marriage, in 2010, she made a brave bold move to step away from her husband for a time, which led her to take a wide lens look at the organization itself. “30 yrs ago it was all a noble experiment,” she says. “Now we can look at the concrete results & see what works, and what doesn't".
