Background: The goal for many families and teachers is to inspire the joy of reading in someone they love. Applies to all ages and reading levels. For 15 years Mark has promoted reading and writing via public speaking engagements, book signings, and participation in book events. He has been recognized through the Kentucky Governor’s School for the Arts, KACo (KY Assoc. of Counties), FAPA Board, SCBWI, IBPA, Readers’ Favorite Illustration Awards Judge, and international book awards. Official judge of the Readers’ Favorite Illustration Award 2013–2018. Florida Authors and Publishers Association Board Member to President 2009–2017. Kentucky Colonels, 2014–Present, the highest title of honor bestowed by the Commonwealth of Kentucky in recognition of noteworthy accomplishments and outstanding service to a community, state, or the nation. Independent Book Publishers Association Since 2008.
