In this On the Move, hosts Matt Avery and John Kraman kick things off with a Mecum Auctions schedule update, discussing their excitement for upcoming events like the auctions in Glendale, Arizona, and Tulsa, Oklahoma. Then, the pair take the time to celebrate the life of an automotive pioneer and innovator, talking about the legacy of Bruce Meyers, who recently passed away at the age of 94. Meyers was a military veteran, surfer and racer, though he is perhaps best known for creating the iconic Meyers Manx dune buggy. Decades later, those cheeky, super-fun cruisers are still loved by car collectors the world over.

From there, Matt and John are revved up to talk about the arrival of two new two-seat sports cars: Maserati’s MC20 and the Porsche 911 GT3. Both feature hundreds of horsepower and smaller displacement engines, and the guys talk about their potential success in the marketplace.

In the second part of this episode, Matt has a one-on-one conversation with Director of Jeep North America Scott Tallon and is all ears to hear about the 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 arriving in showrooms later this spring. Scott details the vehicle’s development, its capabilities (both on and off-road) and how vital it was for the team to pay attention to what customers are actively looking for in their off-road rigs. Scott also discusses more product updates including the latest on the electrified Wrangler 4xe, long-wheelbase Cherokee L and heritage-inspired Grand Wagoneer.

Rounding out the episode, in an "Homage to the Hemi" conversation, Matt and John are discussing the impact of one of the most significant engines: the venerable Hemi V-8. As part of the dialogue, the guys talk about how with the modern era trending towards smaller-displacement powertrains, the Hemi can readily be found in offerings from Dodge, Chrysler, Ram and Jeep.
