Inflammatory bowel disease, which includes ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn’s disease, affects an estimated 3 million adults in the United States. Although numerous therapies are available for the treatment of moderate to severe UC, many patients still suffer poor quality of life and suboptimal outcomes.
