Phenomenal true crime podcast! I like the UK focus which allows for the showcasing of lesser-known cases (at least for U.S. listeners). The cases are researched and presented extremely well. Sinead has a pleasant voice and demeanor. Really well done! I'm looking forward to checking out more episodes.
The podcast covers interesting stories, that are barely known but the narratives of the cases are too reliant on dry newspaper reports so the story telling is undermined. Some dodgy politically stuff too.
My podcast travels have landed me in Ireland, listening to Mens Rea. The Latin translation for mens rea is “guilty mind.” Which, in reality, really couldn’t be a better name for a true-crime podcast. The concept of mens rea explores the mental element of a person’s intent to commit a crime. It’s the necessary element of all crimes, and essentially, what constitutes if a crime was knowingly committed. It's one of the best true crime podcasts out there today.Listeners will instantly be impressed with host Sinead. And why not? She is not only a charismatic host with fantastic narration skills. Sinead researches, writes and produces this addicting podcast. Her background is very impressive with a BA from Trinity College Dublin, and an MSc in Human Rights from University College Dublin. She also holds a Diploma in Prof. Legal Studies. Sinead has been blessing podcast fans since 2017 with a variety of topics and episodes. Listeners can expect a new episode every 2 weeks that focuses on crimes in Ireland and the UK. She will explore every nook and cranny of crimes ranging from stories of the IRA to cases exploring hostages and kidnappings. With that kind of case variety, it’s hard not to stay locked into each episode.
Yessss. Sinead is great! Been listening for a while now, and I wish she put out a new episode every week! I'm from the states, so a lot of the cases she covers are new to me. She is thorough, well researched, and she has the perfect voice to listen at night. Definitely one of my faves!!
