Michael Grinder hosts this podcast with guest Sharon Sayler as they talk about non-verbal cross cultural observations.

Understanding how non-verbals culturally effect communication and how to accurately interpret what the other person is communicating reinforces what is going on. Michael talks about what non-verbal cues are completely accurate cross culturally. Once the baseline (norm) of each culture is understood, all of our 21 patterns of Non Verbal Communication can be applied. In summary, establish the cultural baseline and then the 21 patterns of Non-Verbal Communication apply. When learning a new culture, the number one skill is to suspend any interpretation of what you see.  Michael says it takes him six visits before he can even start to approximate accurate interpretations.
