Karen serves as the President and CEO of the Jewish Healthcare Foundation, where she is credited for shaping the organization into a national voice for patient safety and healthcare quality over a period of 25 years. Karen frequently presents on healthcare quality improvement at national and international conferences. Karen holds a PhD in Social Policy and Management from Brandeis University. Karen has served on many non-profit, governmental, and for-profit boards. She was celebrated as Pittsburgher of the Year in 2015. Karen prides herself on being outspoken advocate for healthcare reform.
