To be honest, I'm not a big holiday person, don't get me wrong.

I love the holidays, I enjoy the energy and the connection and I even did a podcast episode all about just kind of settling in mindfully with the holiday lights, and I will link that episode below because that's how I tap into the holiday season.

But I don't do well with a lot of people.

I'm a very outgoing person.

I can socialize and talk to anybody, connect with people, but after the day's over I don't know about you, but I got to recharge.

I need quiet, I need solitude.

I'm happiest when I'm alone and just being able to settle my mind.

If you're listening to this, this just might be something you're going.

Oh yeah, yeah, I get it and you know you can kind of call this self care if you want to, because you need to make room and space for yourself and your business.

I take to recharge myself and to keep myself going, cause I don't burn out because I had burned out before.

I only book a certain number of sessions a day.

I get plenty of time for myself to recharge and relax, because I want to be a hundred percent with the people I'm with and I want you to be a hundred percent with the people you're with.

Since the holidays are coming up, there are a lot more people in events going on you may want to focus more on protecting your time and your energy.

You know if you have to go over to your not so favorite uncle's house and you know it's going to be a little difficult, or you know that you're going to have to deal with a long, drone holiday party that you really wish you could avoid, but you got to be there Either way.

All these extra obligations and everything that goes on in the holiday and the busyness and the fast pace it's really hard to settle yourself down.

So I want to help you do that right now.

So I'm going to bring you on a short guided meditation just to let you recharge your batteries.

Now I have two disclaimers and you know one of them, which is please do not drive while listening to the recording I'm going to be doing.

Just find yourself some place where you can sit and relax.

And the second disclaimer is that we already know the best battery that you can use to recharge yourself with our cats and dogs, but we can't carry them around while we can.

But you know what I mean. So we need to try something different.

Okay, now that we have that disclaimer out of the way because I'm not going to deny their power to kind of keep us calm, but let's continue on.

So I want you just to take a few breaths and to settle in.

You know, for the next five, six, seven minutes, you got nothing to do but listen to my voice and I want you to focus your attention on your hands.

Just put your hands out in front of you, notice your left and your right hand, and I want you to take a minute to look at your hands as if you've never seen them before.

Notice the left and notice the right, and notice the space between your fingers.

Notice and settle into the space between your left hand and your right hand and the space between your hands and perhaps maybe your eyes, and the space from your hands down to the floor and the space from your hands to your body.

Just notice and the space between your in-breath and your out-breath and as you think about the space between your breathing, you can close your eyes down and you can also relax your hands down on your lap, moving your attention all the way down to your feet and just noticing where your feet are, where they rest, whether they're in shoes or your bare foot or whatever you're resting your feet upon.

Just notice how relaxing it feels to pay attention to your feet.

I want you to bring your attention back up to your hands, focus on your left hand for a moment, and I want you to bring yourself back to a time when you may have been a little irritated by people, a little annoyed.

When that image comes up, I want you to imagine yourself and play with me, put that image in your left hand, and I want you to squeeze your hand tight, tight, tight, tight, tight and open your hand and let that go.

Now.

I want you to focus on your right hand and think of a time where you were delighted by people, surprised even.

When that image comes up, I want you to put that in your right hand and I want you to squeeze your hand Tight, tight, tight, tight, tight.

Now let that go.

It is so nice when we can just release and let go and, as you do, just notice a wave of relaxation going all the way down your body, all the way down to your feet.

That's right Now.

Bring your attention back up to both your hands and now take both your hands and squeeze them together Tight, tight, tight, tight, tight.

Now let that go. And here you sit, relaxed, listening to me, with empty hands.

What's good about that is the left hand can now be given something wonderful to hold on to and the empty right hand can now reach out and connect to touch the lives of others.

And now, because we have empty hands, we can begin to recharge our battery.

We can bring in and hold onto the wonderful things that light us up, that inspire us, that allow us to carry ourselves with the manner that we choose.

Lean in right now and just lend me your imagination, because I want you to imagine a door in front of you.

This door, which you will not open just yet, is the recharging station in your mind.

This is where the access to the perpetual battery is found, and in a moment when you enter this room, you'll be delighted to see an array of all the levers and dials and everything that you may need to make adjustments to your ability to recharge your life.

Begin to enter this room, metaphorically speaking, of course.

This is where you'll find the ability to tap into your mindset, maybe change your motivation, your desire.

This is the place where you can also make a commitment to being aware and of respecting your own energy level and to making yourself the best version of who you are.

Just notice and look around this room.

It may be very detailed, or maybe it's just very simple, or maybe you hear and see and smell and notice everything in this room.

You do whatever you do, which is perfect for you, but the one thing you do know and you do notice is there is a sense of peace, a sense of control, knowing that you have the ability to adjust your energy when you're around other people.

So, before you take a moment and get into moving anything and adjusting anything, just settle into your body and calibrate for a moment, just noticing where your energy is and how you feel right now.

For myself, I tap into my body, but I also notice a gauge on the wall and I look at the colors, because for me it goes from red to green when I know I'm fully charged.

You may see different. You may know exactly how you feel.

Maybe you tap into your own body, or you may see charging lights or not.

Either way, your subconscious mind will allow you and will guide you into moving and adjusting these dials or these levers in any way you seem fit.

So begin the adjustment now, and don't forget to notice the other dials that may be there for you the dial of compassion, maybe a lover of kindness, or a button of patience.

You may even find a way of increasing your tolerance for those who are driving you bananas this holiday season.

Maybe you'll flip a switch for a dose of mindfulness as well, and perhaps you'll add something specific to yourself that only you know what you need.

That's right.

And as you increase the energy and the dial goes up and up, you'll notice your energy level begins to rise.

You begin to feel more refreshed, settled, recharged and more relaxed, accelerated and ready to be open and engaged, and maybe more relaxed.

But pay attention to how your energy increases and how wonderful it feels to know that you are doing this to be the best version of who you are.

That's right.

Energy rising, battery recharging.

Maybe you'll take a moment to even enhance your aura or create a shield of protection that you can put around you for anybody who may annoy or irritate you.

And while you're at it, maybe I'll even give yourself a little dose of holiday cheer why not?

I want you just to notice as you're adjusting and settling into this new recharged battery.

Just notice how wonderful you'll feel and how different things would be when you are good, when you are feeling great, and how you will see yourself in a week or two weeks from now when you need to go to a family gathering or a family reunion and the normal scenario begins to, you know, start to play out.

But this time things are different because you are different, your energy is different and things cannot remain the same if you change.

Ah, so good, so wonderful.

So take a moment and make any additional adjustments you need to make and lock these in.

Then a moment you're going to leave the room, but before you do know you can come back here and make any adjustments you need to and you should on a regular basis and know that whenever you leave the room, your subconscious mind can make adjustments automatically for you when you need them, and it will do so for the benefit of your energy level.

Now is the time to exit the room and begin to come back here, stretching your body, giving your body a little shake, a little shimmy, and opening your eyes.

Welcome back. I want you to remember that this does not only help you, but it expands and contains everyone else in your life, because when you are your best, other people get to be their best.

Whatever that best may be and may not be your best, but it's their best, and this is our way to tap into the holiday spirit and to pay it forward, so to speak.
