am Kelly, and today I'll be meeting
0:14
you through your meditation. So
0:16
go ahead and get comfortable, settle
0:19
through, and enjoy your meditation practice.

This show is brought to you by Better Health.

Now, learning something new about yourself is
0:32
a lifelong journey. I love
0:34
learning new things about myself, whether it's
0:36
through meditation or journaling
0:39
or introspection. But I also find
0:41
therapy to be a great way to learn something
0:44
new about myself because we're always
0:46
growing, we're always changing, we
0:48
become new people, and so we have new things
0:50
to learn. About ourselves, more information
0:53
to gain about ourselves.
0:55
And therapy is all about deepening your self
0:57
awareness and understanding.
1:00
So if you've been thinking about giving therapy
1:02
a try, I highly recommend better
1:05
help. It is entirely
1:07
online. It's designed to be convenient, flexible,
1:09
and suited to our schedule. I
1:11
always fit my sessions in during pork tops
1:14
nap time. Because that's really
1:16
the only time during day that I get for myself,
1:18
so I like to use it for therapy. You just
1:20
fill out a brief questionnaire to get matched with licensed
1:23
therapist and switch therapist anytime

1:40
everyone. Welcome to
1:42
this episode of the mindful Imminutes
1:45
podcast. I'm Kelly, and
1:47
today I'm gonna be leading you through your
1:49
practice. And our practice today
1:52
is inspired by the spring
1:55
Equinox, which is tomorrow
1:57
if you're listening to this when this episode
1:59
is released, but this meditation
2:02
is inspired by those first
2:05
few just like beautiful spring days
2:08
the fresh air and the new beginnings
2:10
that can come with springtime after
2:13
our time of rest during
2:15
winter. So go ahead and
2:18
get comfortable. You
2:20
can settle in. We
2:24
create a long spine softening
2:28
the shoulders and
2:32
close the eyes if that feels good to you.
2:38
Just take a moment to check-in with
2:41
how you're feeling today. There
2:46
is no right or wrong answer, but
2:48
just look at yourself objectively and
2:52
check-in with your body. Check-in
2:56
with the thoughts in your mind and
3:00
any emotions or feelings you're experiencing
3:03
in your heart. Just
3:06
making note of how you're doing today. And
3:14
then take a few big deep, easy
3:16
breaths. Just inhaling
3:19
through the nose. Open
3:21
mouth exhale, sign out and releasing.
3:27
And go ahead and do that two more
3:30
times if you like. And
3:45
allowing yourself to fall into a
3:47
natural effortless breath
3:49
pattern. Letting
3:53
the air begin just to dance
3:55
in and out of your body. You
3:59
can focus on the gentle rise
4:02
and fall of the belly as
4:04
you breathe in and as you breathe out.
4:11
Siding that breath be smooth. Not
4:17
forcing it in any way. Just
4:23
breathing. And
4:49
give yourself permission. To
4:53
start again, to
4:56
create a new beginning, right
4:59
here, right now. Give
5:03
yourself permission to embrace the
5:06
energy of spring. Beautiful,
5:10
new wonderful things beginning to
5:12
sprout and bloom in your
5:14
life. And
5:35
then in your mind's eye, visualize
5:39
your standing in a
5:41
cabin. It's
5:45
a cozy cabin. It's
5:49
maybe a little bit dark. Was
5:53
perfect for winter, so cozy.
6:02
But as you sit in this cabin, you
6:06
see sunlight. Begin
6:09
to stream through one of the windows.
6:14
The light is just cascading through
6:16
the window and onto the wooden floor.
6:21
It's that spring sunlight.
6:26
Feels different in the winter light.
6:29
It's bright. It's inviting.
6:32
It's warm. So
6:36
you walk over to the window and you open it.
6:42
You get that fresh air. Take
6:48
a moment. Just taking
6:51
a few deep easy breaths.
6:54
You can feel some of that sunlight shining
6:56
down on your face. Feel
7:02
so good. It's
7:07
the first day of spring, and
7:10
you can feel it in the air. So
7:15
you walk around your cabin, you open up all
7:17
of the windows, letting
7:20
the sunlight, letting that fresh air
7:22
come into the cabin. And
7:26
quickly, it starts transforming so it no
7:28
longer feels stale
7:31
or dark. But it's filled
7:34
with new life, new energy. And
7:42
while the cabins airing out, you decide
7:44
to go outside. So
7:49
you walk out the door. Stepping
7:53
out of your cabin, looking
7:55
outside, you
7:58
notice the snow has melted. There's
8:03
little bits of green grass. Poking
8:07
through the soil. It
8:11
smells fresh outside. You
8:18
can hear birds chirping all
8:22
around you. A
8:25
sound of life returning after
8:27
winter. You
8:36
can hear some water moving in the distance
8:38
of a nearby stream, no longer
8:40
frozen. And
8:45
the sun is shining down on your face.
8:49
It feels so warm. Feel
8:52
so good. So
8:59
you go for a walk outside. So
9:03
enjoy nature. You
9:10
walk and you see that the trees have
9:13
little butting leaves on them.
9:23
You can see the bushes. Beginning
9:27
to flower, the
9:31
greenery, It's an
9:33
even deeper green than before.
9:41
You hear those birds. You
9:45
see some rabbits and
9:47
squirrels. Moving
9:49
around. It's
9:52
like the world is coming back to life.
10:01
And as you walk and you breathe, you can
10:03
physically feel the winter.
10:07
Just falling off of you shedding
10:11
that heavier darker
10:17
that restful
10:20
hibernation energy of winter. Melting
10:24
away just like the ice in the snow.
10:29
Each step you feel little bit lighter Feel
10:34
a little bit new, rejuvenated.
10:40
And you just absorb that springtime energy
10:43
as you go for a walk. That
10:54
sunshine energy fills you.
10:58
You feel excited. You feel alive.
11:00
You feel curious. Feel
11:04
energized. It
11:08
all feels so beautiful and so
11:11
new and so great. You
11:17
just continue to walk absorbing
11:21
the springtime energy. Leaving
11:26
winter behind you as
11:29
you become lighter, more energized, and
11:31
more alive with each and every step.
12:09
Now as you continue to walk, you finally
12:11
find that stream that you've been hearing
12:14
in the distance. So
12:16
you decide to just
12:19
sit by it enjoying
12:23
the wildlife the nature
12:25
around you, breathing
12:28
in that fresh air. And
12:38
you know that this is a new beginning? It's
12:41
a fresh start. But
12:45
there are no expectations, no plans.
12:49
You're just enjoying this moment as
12:52
you breathe and
12:54
absorb that
12:56
light. Energy
13:00
from springtime as the world changes
13:04
and reawakens all around you.
13:47
You take a few more moments here.
13:51
Spreading deeply absorbing whatever
13:53
you need. Then
14:01
we'll exhale all the air out of our lungs
14:05
and inhale taking a big deep
14:07
breath in. And
14:10
out welcoming
14:13
this transition between the seasons
14:16
in your body and mind and heart
14:20
Letting us be a new beginning and fresh
14:22
start for you. And
14:27
when you're ready, you can gently reawaken by
14:29
moving your body just a little bit.
14:33
Eventually, blinking the eyes open and
14:35
returning to your day. Thank
14:39
you so so much for joining me for
14:41
this meditation practice.
