[5:00] Create a Content Calendar for your Instagram

Next, put a content calendar together. This is the roadmap of the content you are going to offer. Your content calendar includes pillars of key topics within your niche and all of your content then ladders up to those topics.

In addition, having a stockpile of photos in an app like Plann is helpful because you will not have to search for photos every single time you post on Instagram. You can create the captions underneath your photos in Plann which makes it easy to post daily.

 

[6:00] Captions are the Connection to Build a Community on Instagram

Instagram captions are your chance to connect with your audience on a deeper level. Use your caption to make those connections and speak directly do your audience. Especially if you are offering a service like coaching – we can’t just post pretty pictures and be one and done. Think about what VALUE you are offering your audience.

If you’re worried about if every single person is reading a long caption, every person definitely will not read it all the way through. But the people who need the value you are offering will read it. And if we are sharing the same messages over and over, it will eventually resonate with a bigger audience. Think about it in advertising terms – brands plan to hit their audience with the same message over and over so the brand is top of mind for the audience. You want your key messages to be top of mind for your audience too.

 

[8:30] Engage with Your Existing Audience

Nurturing your existing following on your Instagram page is key to build a community on Instagram. You want to create a culture within your Instagram page that your followers love to be a part of and tell their friends about. A strong culture also allows your new followers joining to see what you have to offer right away.

 

[9:40] Find New Followers to Join Your Community on Instagram

The last area to focus on is finding new followers to join your tribe. We need to make ourselves known! There are a ton of ways to do this but having a solid strategy to bring in new followers every single month is what’s going to fuel the engine for you to grow. The great content is what will make them stay but we need to make ourselves known.
