Are you an entrepreneur that works from home? Did you love Marie Kondo'ing your home and are dying for more of that fresh energy?

Listen to this podcast episode on Feng Shui for Entrepreneurs to learn how to use feng shui to boost your productivity by bringing fresh energy into your space.

Today on the Mindful Influencer Podcast – I am talking to Ashley Peacock is Feng Shui consultant who attended the Feng Shui Masters Training Program in NYC and then went on to study classical and traditional style feng shui at the prestigious “Raymond Lo School of Feng Shui and Destiny” based in Hong Kong. Ashley is so knowledgeable & we talk about feng shui in all aspects of your space to have your space support you in your work.

Here’s what you’ll learn in today’s episode on Feng Shui for Entrepreneurs: [7:11] What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese study of the environment and how the energy of the environment around us affects our well-being, prosperity, relationships, etc. It helps us harness the energy of the environment from nature into our spaces.

Feng Shui can be used when looking for a new home to find the best location. Then you can also make adjustments within an existing environment if you’ve already chosen a home. It is all about balancing the energy between the elements fire, wood, water, earth.

[14:25] How to Bring in Productive Energy into Your Space

If you do work from home – here are the golden tips to use feng shui to be more productive. The first one which I loved and implemented in my space is placing your desk in the command position. The command position is having your back to a wall in the farthest possible point from the door. This subconsciously makes you more productive because you are not looking at what is behind you as you work. If you cannot have your back to a wall – putting a book shelf or a plant behind you can protect you instead. This is true for your bedroom as well and can give you a more restful sleep.

Having a separate space to work away from your living space is also important. Even if you have a studio, you can separate your work space from living space with a screen to create a nook.

[18:30] Why Rounded Edges are Better than Pointed in Your Space

For better energy in your office and home – consider rounded edges vs. pointed for your furniture. Pointed edges are called poison arrows.

Poison arrows are negative energy that emanates from anything sharply pointing toward a main door, your body, or your home. They can also come from sharp corners of walls or furniture. These points can hit your body while you work or sleep. At their worst, poison arrows can create severe loss, such as loss of job, loss of money, or loss of health so it’s important to be mindful of sharp corners in your space. You can avoid these in your space all together or soften them using a fabric for example.

[22:00] How to Optimize Your Space to Be More Productive Working from Home

In order to do this – you want to be aware of the yin vs. yang energy in your space. Yin energy is restful energy and is great in your bedroom. You can bring in more yin energy with soft textiles or rounded edges. These updates will make it easier to sleep & more restful in your space.

In contrast in your office space, you want yang energy or work energy. In your office – you’d want to move the energy around and include energetic objects like plants or an aromatherapy diffuser.
