Most continental philosophers shy away from analytic philosophy, and most analytic philosophers shy away from the continental tradition. Edward Kanterian regrets this trend. He thinks that the distinction between continental and analytic philosophy carries no normative weight, that there is good and bad philosophy in both traditions, and there are lessons to be learned from each.
