This episode took an entire summer to edit and put together. It's an episode about genuine love for the animals, sacrifice, competence and resilience with one of the rescuers I profoundly respect and admire in Romania. Lea is a radio personality, a hard-working and passionate rehabilitator of disabled and unwanted animals,  and a long-time friend. I didn't realize at the time of recording just how much this episode meant to me, and how much it touched me. Just as I had found my inner resilience and determination to publish the episode, Lea informed me that Shinny had moved upstairs too, to complete the constellation of extraordinary disabled dogs that have passed through our lives, so this episode is dedicated to Shiny, Mishka, Danni and the many others who have left their pawprints on our hearts. It's a testament to their phenomenal ability to withstand tremendous suffering and find a way to enjoy every single moment to the fullest, as well as to the amazing community of people that help them. I thus kindly invite you to join us for a discussion of what it means to be a rescuer of disabled dogs, what the special needs of special needs dogs are, and what can be done so that fewer animals end up in this situation. It's a discussion that, as usual, takes us back to the paramount importance of educating the community, staying true to our mission, and finding hope in desperate circumstances.
