After accepting the "hypothetical" quest to find and vanquish the creature causing the villagers of Newern much anguish, the party ventured deeper into the marsh following some ominously large tracks. They led to a deep pool of water where Mest happened upon a seemingly human bone in the mud. The eerie sight set the group on edge, but too late for those who crept close to the water's edge as the monstrous creature lept out the water and swallowed Finavir whole. With effort, they dispatched the amphibian and now find themselves faced with its giant carcass and Finavir still in its mouth.
