There, he would walk to the Río Grande (Río Bravo) and look across the river to the Mexican town of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, the place where he would draw his first inspirations from. As a child, he would observe the street musicians with their instruments in hand performing songs for money. At the age of 14, he began teaching himself to sing and play the guitar, influenced by the wide range of music that his father listened to on the radio. Another great influence was one of his cousin's from San Antonio that took the time to help polish his playing. Danny's diverse musical influences melded into songwriting at that same age. Raised by parents who spoke Spanish at home, Danny speaks and writes in both English and Spanish. Although most of his songs are written in Spanish, he manages to merge the simple and intensively effective resonance of both languages, appealing to the senses of people of all backgrounds and all ages while solemnly expressing his whole being and passionate humanity.Salazar's approach to Latin American roots music together with his unique writing style and feel, result in a bold yet sophisticated testament of raw expression.
