Early on in business, I didn’t like talking about my story. I didn’t like how my Crohn’s disease and my childhood experience, feeding myself with a tube down my nose just to grow, made me feel like a victim.
Then one day a mentor pulled me aside and taught me that my story was what made me relatable. He taught me that my hardships, that overcoming the sick-kid-narrative that I had to grow through, was inspirational and helped me connect with others.
Your story is what brings people together and creates a connection with them. It’s your story that helps people decide if they want to do business with you or not.
Every setback in your past is the opportunity for a comeback in your future.
