A lot of crazy things have happened in financial markets over the past few weeks: we had company earnings reports, a Reddit-fueled market frenzy, and the continuation of meme culture firmly entrenching itself into the realm of Wall Street. For this week's episode, I wanted to interview a guest who has a background in fundamental analysis and who brings a fresh perspective on finance and investing. Eli Joyner, a friend I met through a student-run hedge fund at Baruch College, fits these criteria to a tee.
Eli and I had a wonderful conversation that spanned several topics, including his thoughts on crafting an investment philosophy and how certain parts of the U.S. stock market could be overvalued. We also talked about his most recent project, a paper trading fund called the Joyner Fund. His aim is to share his investment ideas with the world and create a professional presence that demonstrates his equity research skills. You can follow his journey both at his website, joynerfund.com, and on Instagram at @joynerfund.
I hope you found this chat as useful as I did. Thank you for listening!
