this town. A new over here

2:16

in Smash on. The

2:18

best goals. And Twenty Or twenty three.

2:23

To. The

2:27

before we get started a heavy maria new injury

2:29

to share with. Please.

2:52

Try. This is. My

2:54

story takes place in

2:57

the middle Georgia area.

2:59

fans. Across country

3:01

it follows me where.

3:03

Ever I go. Basically average

3:05

size little kid. I guess

3:07

I'm a smoker, easiest or

3:10

spousal. A kid I was

3:12

not like as being watched,

3:14

recorded, studied. What have you

3:16

can call it paranoia? Call

3:18

it anxiety? Call it a

3:20

one child out of six

3:22

siblings wanting to feel important.

3:24

Whatever. what have you. This.

3:28

Seen this entities forgive me. but

3:30

I was in love with the

3:33

goblin. King from the Labyrinth so I called

3:35

it the Goblin King. Out.

3:37

On a sealant watching me but

3:39

that plays a part of this

3:41

story later on. Anyways,

3:44

my older brother he

3:46

wants did a high

3:48

school project on the

3:50

helpfulness a sleep deprivation

3:52

to yes. He

3:54

set up for two weeks and he

3:57

did all kinds of experiments on us.

3:59

younger sibling yeah, what are younger siblings

4:01

for? My. Favorite game that

4:03

he started us plane was we

4:05

were in Perry Georgia time. My.

4:08

Favorite game was guess what color car

4:10

was gonna come down the road in

4:12

front of our house. And

4:14

I became quite good at this

4:16

game, whether shared, dumb luck or.

4:19

His research was actually doing something for a

4:21

middle school project or high school project? Whatever.

4:24

Ever since them I think I

4:26

was about eleven. This phenomenon has

4:29

happens every year. So. Some

4:31

midnight on New Year's Eve. No

4:33

matter where I'm at. It started

4:35

that year. It was our first year that

4:37

our parents were allowing us to stay up

4:40

past midnight. To. Celebrate the New Year.

4:43

I was happening to look outside

4:45

and I saw a red convertible.

4:47

Mustang Beautiful car. Have always loved

4:49

that car. But. Then

4:51

the next year it. Happened again

4:54

as like. What

4:57

it! What a coincidence. It's.

4:59

Become a New Years Eve tradition

5:01

for me. I am and over

5:04

the road truck driver per my

5:06

other stories. I've. Even

5:08

seen it. Going down the

5:10

Great sign in California. Sixteen

5:12

seventeen years ago, out of

5:14

nowhere, this Risk convertible Mustang

5:16

Holmes's flying past the trucks

5:18

on the dark mountain road.

5:21

Anyways, Nobody ever believe me

5:23

when I tell them look look there it

5:25

is there to stroke of midnight this my

5:28

red fricking car nobody ever believe me us

5:30

military paying attention as a silly thing. Back.

5:33

To middle towards as I

5:35

was in Macon, Georgia at

5:37

this time. Bout. One

5:40

he six, twenty seven years

5:42

old. And.

5:44

I was trying to show a family

5:47

friends. My tradition. Is

5:49

a crazy year. It. Was seventy

5:52

three degrees out. At

5:55

midnight and the fog

5:57

was so sick quid

5:59

see. Other half the

6:01

hundred feet from your face the so

6:03

how the world was. I can see

6:05

my little red convertible. Well.

6:08

I told him I said come on, come on

6:10

and I'll show you this quick quick before the

6:12

clock strikes midnight. So. He

6:15

walks while I ran

6:17

down my parents driveway

6:19

was like. Thirty yards

6:21

it was long driveway concealed by

6:24

woods. I. Look

6:26

at my clock and I'm peering down towards

6:28

the roadway, which is about one hundred feet

6:31

from the cold side. And

6:33

see streetlight. Illuminates

6:35

a red car. I'm not

6:37

going. To admit is it was

6:39

the red convertible. Elicits. A

6:42

red car. So. I

6:44

thought you know, whatever I'm I'm gonna

6:46

call it status of my. Red Convertible.

6:49

So. I turn around

6:51

to see is the side of

6:53

the family had seen it or

6:56

not and when I turn arounds

6:58

I'm all alone in a fog

7:00

called the Sides in the middle

7:03

of. The Woods. And

7:06

this whole. kings.

7:09

Black. Seemed. To

7:11

which I honestly thought was the

7:13

neighbor's mailbox. Starts.

7:17

Is. Getting. Darker. So

7:19

dark enough that you can

7:21

see it through that sick

7:23

fog. And it starts

7:25

coming towards me. All

7:28

logic runs from my head

7:30

and I literally running backs.

7:33

Down the driveway and run into

7:35

the families and halfway. Down.

7:38

The driveway. I

7:40

never left the house after

7:42

dark after that. My again

7:45

because the ceiling when I

7:47

left the house was that

7:49

That saying that has been

7:51

watching me my whole entire

7:53

life wasn't. Good. Anymore.

7:58

Basically it was a. How

8:00

are your grown now now?

8:02

you can defend yourself? Switch

8:04

out Yet I really can't

8:06

and it's this seems. I

8:08

don't know what it was.

8:12

It was Harrys. It

8:14

was flat and. About.

8:20

When it was hulking towards me

8:22

out of the. As as a

8:24

cul de sac, A was about

8:26

my high about five foot five,

8:29

five foot seven. Glad I didn't

8:31

stick around to ask questions. Thank.

8:34

You for letting me share.

8:36

It is my craziest story.

8:39

I'll let you know it's

8:41

June first now of twenty

8:43

Twenty three. I'll

8:45

call in after New Year's

8:48

Eve much you know? if

8:50

I've seen my little red

8:52

convertible says thank you so

8:54

much again for letting anybody

8:56

shudder. Story. Your podcasts

8:59

great! Ah

9:01

later. You

9:04

know the weird thing. years we'll. Just.

9:12

Opening with another to spew

9:14

it's. Either

9:25

way, To

9:29

know I'm curious as well. As

9:32

camera ready to start. Releases:

9:36

Special. About this

9:38

route comfortable. Or. Maybe.

9:44

Either way, be sure to snow.

9:56

know what is mentioned in the opener

9:58

this is the best in

12:00

the middle of nowhere from what he told us. Anyways,

12:02

they're moving the sky out there to

12:04

a trailer, trailer house

12:07

in the middle of nowhere, outside of

12:09

Tyler, Texas. And when they

12:11

got there, sort of

12:13

just a normal day, normal move, they

12:16

start getting into it. My friend, at

12:18

some point, he's taking something around the backside

12:20

of the trailer and the grass

12:22

is kind of tall, kind of unkempt. And

12:25

he glances over and notices a hand

12:27

sticking up out of the grass, a

12:29

human hand, and double

12:32

takes it and walks right over to it.

12:34

And sure enough, it's a dead guy. So

12:38

immediately he knows he has to get out of

12:40

there. There's something not right about this. So he

12:43

goes and it's just him and his boss on

12:45

that move. He goes and

12:47

he tells his boss what he just

12:49

found. And his boss

12:51

comes up with a short plan. He says, all right,

12:53

go wait in the truck. And I'm gonna tell this

12:55

guy that, you know, we're gonna go on lunch and

12:58

we're gonna leave. We're getting out of here. So

13:00

Ronnie goes and waits in the truck and

13:03

his boss is just supposed to go in and tell

13:05

the guy that, he'll be right back out. Well,

13:08

a few minutes past, Ronnie said

13:10

he's starting to smoke a cigarette. He said

13:12

he started to get worried because it's taken

13:14

a long time. He said he finishes that

13:16

cigarette, still not out. He says

13:18

he gets out of the truck and starts kind

13:20

of pacing back and forth and he's starting to get worried

13:23

like something happened. And he doesn't know what to do. He's

13:25

freaking out. Miraculously he's

13:27

looking around and he finds a baseball bat

13:29

on the side of that trailer and

13:31

grabs it. His only option in his

13:34

mind at that time is to march through the

13:36

front door and see what's going on. And

13:38

so he does just that. He opens the

13:40

front door as hard as he can. And

13:43

the first thing he sees, I guess, how the trailer is

13:45

set up is it's in the kitchen area. And

13:48

his boss is tied up to a chair,

13:50

bleeding from the head and there's a broken

13:53

lamp. So

13:55

he goes towards him and I guess there's a corner

13:57

of the wall right before you get to him. And

14:01

right before he gets his box, the guy

14:03

at the house that they're moving jumps out

14:05

and he has a gun. Well,

14:07

my friend has that bat and

14:09

just swings it and knocks

14:11

him out. Knocks him to

14:14

the ground. I mean, just,

14:16

it's like something out of a movie. Hits the

14:18

guy, hits him to the ground. He says he's

14:20

beating this guy in the ribs with a bat.

14:23

And he says he just beats the living hell out. And

14:27

I'll explain the guy who they're moving

14:29

to have the gun. So

14:31

he was a middle-aged, too

14:33

older Caucasian man. And

14:36

he was skinny. He wore really

14:39

thick glasses. He wore short

14:41

up to his belly button. Just

14:43

looks almost just really kind of

14:45

nerdy, like creepily kind of nerdy.

14:48

So my friend being a linebacker, it wasn't hard

14:50

for him to overtake this man even with a

14:52

gun. And he definitely had to get lucky not

14:54

to get shot, but he beat this guy down,

14:57

untied his boss. They got out of

14:59

there, sped down these dirt roads to

15:01

Tyler, Tyler, Texas, and went

15:03

right to the police station and told the cops. The

15:06

cops kept doing the police station and went out

15:08

to this guy's trailer out there and

15:11

came back. And I asked my buddy, I was like, so

15:13

what did we know happened? What did they find? What did

15:15

they find out there? And my buddy,

15:18

he said when they went out

15:20

there, they didn't find any evidence of a body in

15:22

the backyard. This is what the cops were

15:24

telling me. There was no evidence

15:26

in the kitchen of that trailer that any

15:28

struggle had happened. And I

15:30

asked my friend, you know, you really beat that

15:32

guy with that bat? He said, yeah, I hit

15:34

him in the ribs. I mean, as hard as

15:36

I can, he was not getting

15:39

up. You know, what would you do

15:41

in a life and death situation? And

15:43

so the guy wasn't there. The

15:45

guy that my friend had beaten with the

15:47

bat wasn't there. Nothing was there. The cops

15:49

said no evidence was found. And

15:52

so that was so weird. A

15:54

week later, I would ask my friend, did the cops ever get

15:56

back to you? Did they ever find anything? My

15:58

friend was like, no, they never got back to me. us, I

16:01

would just periodically ask my friend, what

16:03

happened with all this? You know, this is

16:05

a serious deal and nothing

16:07

ever came of it. It seems like something

16:09

like that would be pretty serious. But in

16:12

my mind, either the cops were in on

16:14

it or there was someone else out there

16:17

that was able to clean everything

16:19

up before the cops got there. Or

16:22

there was something paranormal going on. I don't

16:24

know how else to chalk it up. But

16:26

this really happened. Ronnie

16:29

was not a guy to make stories up like

16:31

this at all. Pretty serious

16:33

guy, a tough guy. And

16:35

I'm freaking out. And in

16:37

my mind, one of the weirdest parts was

16:40

that no evidence was

16:42

found or seemingly. I'll

16:44

always keep this with me because it sounds like something

16:46

that had of a movie. Anyways,

16:48

thanks for your time. Let me show Derek. I

16:50

listen every day. Bye. Thanks,

16:56

caller. Now,

16:58

this story is one of the weird ones we've

17:01

ever featured. And I

17:03

still agree. It's very odd that

17:05

nothing ever came of the report. But

17:08

I guess that's one of the many aspects that make

17:11

this one one of my favorites.

17:14

The share. Now,

17:19

folks, this next entry was first aired back

17:21

on season 15, episode 17. It

17:24

comes to us from Mickey out

17:27

of Oklahoma. Hello,

17:33

Derek and Monsters Among Us podcast listeners.

17:35

This is Mickey T and OKC calling

17:38

in with another submission. Got

17:40

to thinking about all the different things that have happened

17:42

in my life. And I thought I'd give you guys

17:44

a story that took place when I was an infant.

17:47

And this was back in 1979. So,

17:50

of course, I don't remember it,

17:53

but my family does. I

17:55

was in a car with my mother and father.

17:57

And so both of them were the ones who

17:59

told me that. story. But anyways,

18:02

it takes place in California in the

18:04

mountains. We were on our way home

18:07

headed back to Glendora

18:09

Pasadena. At the

18:11

time it was

18:13

night. My mother was driving. I

18:16

was in the backseat asleep. We

18:19

didn't have car seats back then. So

18:21

I was just bundled up in a

18:23

blanket laying in the backseat and

18:26

my dad was in the

18:28

passenger seat asleep. He had

18:30

been driving all day and well you

18:32

know how it goes you switch off.

18:34

So anyways, but back in

18:36

the 70s to those of us

18:38

who were around back then, remember

18:41

that there was CBs

18:43

in most vehicles, cars, trucks,

18:47

semis even today. But

18:50

back then everyone communicated on the road

18:52

as they were driving.

18:54

You know whether the weather was

18:56

bad or things were ahead. So

18:58

where you just had conversations

19:00

with people you didn't know. And

19:02

at the time we were driving

19:04

a Volvo station wagon and

19:07

our handle was snowball. And

19:10

my dad had been talking to

19:12

a semi who was in front of us

19:15

and there was a

19:17

car behind us with four

19:19

college kids. Well the

19:21

semi driver was a single you know

19:23

big rig driver so he was alone

19:25

and then the four college

19:27

students that were behind us were in their own

19:30

vehicle. So all three of us were going through

19:32

this pass in the mountains at

19:34

the same period. The CB

19:36

had gone quiet because it was late and

19:39

my dad had gone to take a nap

19:41

in the passenger seat. At

19:43

a certain point in the road what

19:45

my mom says she saw

19:47

was two people standing on

19:49

this hairpin curve. And

19:52

at first as she started to

19:55

come upon them she thought

19:57

they were just two people in need and They

19:59

were. For the rest. Oddly though

20:01

at first it is just look

20:04

like regular people so she thought

20:06

they were needing help. They were

20:08

waving their arms. Come Here! And

20:11

it was a male and

20:13

female. the mail was dressed

20:15

and fifty sixties outfits outcome

20:17

of the grease or types

20:20

with blue jeans and the

20:22

cops were old white tee

20:24

shirt and the cuffs on

20:26

the sleeves rolled on his

20:28

shirt and his hair was

20:30

slicked back and the girl

20:32

who is where and what

20:34

looked like a poodle skirt

20:36

and in out. Address.

20:38

That kind from. That period

20:40

of the fifties and sixties. But

20:43

what? Really? Freaked her out

20:45

was when she got closer she

20:47

realized they had no feet and

20:49

she could see through their eyes

20:51

as see the sky, the stars

20:53

and moon behind them. And then

20:56

she realized they were hovering out

20:58

over the edge. they weren't actually

21:00

on the shoulder, they were out

21:02

over the cliff. So when she

21:04

got closer and notice that she

21:07

had slowed down because she was

21:09

thinking that they were a couple

21:11

legitimately needing help. But then when

21:13

she. Saw that all that details he

21:15

sped up and screaming and beating on

21:17

my father in out to wake up

21:19

as she just saw something horrifying and

21:21

then of course my dad wakes up

21:23

what the know what's wrong and says

21:25

he says turn around with go back

21:28

I want to see and see goes

21:30

hell am I going back Well he

21:32

remember that he'd been talking to the

21:34

your trucker in those kids earlier and

21:36

was curious if they had seen as

21:38

so he got on the C B

21:40

and called ahead to the truck driver

21:42

to find out if he. Had seen

21:44

anything and he said hell yeah I

21:46

saw something and he said well where

21:48

are you He says I'm already off

21:51

a mountain on person one point and

21:53

he says I'm not going back that

21:55

direction again. Well my dad. Got.

21:57

A chuckle out of that content

22:00

did the for college students and

22:02

they too had seen the same

22:04

thing the to individuals floating off

22:06

the side of a mountain shoulder

22:09

there anyway. My. Mother,

22:11

father and I pull into

22:13

this all my truck stops

22:15

and met up with that

22:17

truck driver and the for

22:20

college students and my parents

22:22

got me out and we

22:24

all went into the Ag

22:26

truck stop and my parents

22:28

had coffee with the five

22:30

individuals hands spoke about what

22:32

they all saw, never want

22:35

confirmed that this all the

22:37

same thing to individuals know

22:39

22:41

shoulder cliff on a hairpin turn in the

22:43

mountains. Anyways,

22:45

pretty interesting story. Wish I could

22:48

athena for myself, but I tend

22:50

to believe both my mom and

22:52

dad when they told me the

22:54

story, Him saying that they had

22:57

had others that saw that the

22:59

same time to confirm it. Anyways,

23:02

good luck and your the podcast

23:05

and have begun to join. Now

23:13

been a California resident myself.

23:15

I really enjoyed this one. Research

23:18

ghosts. And

23:30

you know, coincidentally. Earlier

23:32

this calendar year, almost

23:35

six. In the

23:37

state. The

23:41

view. Oh fl. Thirty.

23:47

First look at the. Biggest. Paranormal

23:49

new stories. I

23:53

take on this on a truck driver in

23:55

Arizona says is there were No Cars Insights:

23:57

When his dashboard camera captured this. The

24:00

heating system transfer and figure on say

24:02

Route Eighty Seven America. Accounting case on

24:04

creepy happen around to thirty am Saturday

24:06

mornings. The driver says the figure was

24:09

standing in the road. Thus far they've

24:11

had this allies no one as be

24:13

able to explain exactly what it is

24:15

at this point. Know

24:18

if you haven't seen. You.

24:21

Can find links to. posters,

24:29

See. This is why keeps to get a.

24:33

And will notice. To

24:38

me. And I sure am

24:40

happy. State. Farm

24:46

for. the

24:49

holiday start here a crook in

26:00

this industrial part of town. I

26:03

don't know if you can hear it, there's like a train

26:05

going by right now, it's about 50 yards from the house.

26:08

There's some different, you know, industrial

26:10

companies. There's like a dumpster company

26:12

that's about 100 yards away,

26:15

there's a Friesenshire repair place, there's a

26:17

meat pie factory. And

26:19

then there's also just some houses and some

26:21

neighbors, but for the most part it's just,

26:23

you know, industrial stuff, vacant lots. But

26:26

it's right in the middle of the city. So it's

26:29

in this nexus between a couple

26:31

of different highways, a

26:34

couple of different train tracks, and also

26:37

this kind of drainage canal that

26:40

kind of cuts the neighborhood

26:42

into a triangle. And

26:44

all this is to say that it's really noisy

26:46

here. And so I'm

26:48

a teacher, I'm a GED teacher at the community

26:51

college, I teach night classes, but then when I

26:53

come home at night, I also write

26:55

songs, I write stories and things like that. And

26:57

I usually do it in the bathroom, which

26:59

I know is kind of a weird place to do

27:02

that. But, you know, like I said, we don't have

27:04

a ton of space because we're just building it little

27:06

piece by piece. And so we kind of basically have

27:08

an outhouse that's connected

27:10

to the house we live in

27:13

by a porch. And so

27:15

I go into the outhouse bathroom slash

27:17

recording studio kind of place to make

27:20

songs or whatever. So

27:22

a few nights ago, I get home

27:24

from work and

27:26

I go into the bathroom to just

27:28

try to play some music. And

27:30

I sat down and I have

27:33

this old broken guitar and it's not super

27:35

in tune or anything, but it was late

27:37

at night when I started this, maybe like

27:39

10 p.m. or so. But it's

27:41

usually pretty loud at night, loud during the day,

27:43

you know, like I say, middle of the city.

27:46

I'm in there and I just start kind

27:48

of playing this riff. This

27:51

is the part, this is not terribly out of the ordinary,

27:54

this part, but it's again, it's worth mentioning that, like,

27:56

sometimes I'll be in the bathroom and I'll just play

27:58

for a while and I can hear. all things

28:00

going on outside. There's rats skittering

28:03

by underneath the outhouse. There's possums

28:05

up in the tree. There's birds.

28:07

We have two cats. There's

28:10

just ambulances going by. There's gunshots off

28:12

in the distance. It's just a city

28:15

and a city in America at least.

28:17

So I'm playing this song

28:20

and I kind of get

28:22

into this repetitive almost hypnotic state

28:24

with it. I

28:27

start just kind of singing whatever

28:29

comes to my mind. The thing that comes to my

28:31

mind is this one by one, two by two, three

28:34

by three. I just start kind

28:36

of saying it over and over and over again.

28:38

I'm not really thinking about it. I'm just playing

28:40

music, just kind of babbling to myself, which probably

28:42

sounds weird. But I don't know. That's how I

28:44

write. Then I'm doing this for

28:46

a while. I'm not quite sure how long I'm

28:49

doing this for. But I think

28:51

it's maybe because I've been listening to

28:53

your podcast a lot, which I love.

28:55

I get the

28:58

mirrored men stuck in my head, which scare

29:00

the crap out of me. A

29:02

lot of your listeners. I don't know what

29:04

it is. It's just I don't

29:06

get freaked out very often by

29:08

spooky stuff. But there's something about

29:10

the mirrored men. I

29:13

can't even I can't explain it. So

29:15

I think it's the number three, the three by

29:18

three, that makes me start thinking about these mirrored

29:20

men. When I

29:22

started thinking about it, I'm still playing

29:24

the song. I'm still kind of doing

29:26

this almost this chant. And I'm aware

29:28

this sounds weird. But I don't

29:30

know how long this is going on for. But eventually

29:33

I'm like, you know what? I'm gonna write a

29:35

mirrored men song because it's October. It's spooky time.

29:37

And you know, I do this thing where I

29:39

try to write a song every week and then

29:41

I share it. And in October,

29:43

I try to write, you know, spooky songs. And so

29:45

I'm like, oh, that's this is perfect. I'll do a

29:48

mirrored men kind of song. So I

29:50

listen to a couple of the clips.

29:52

I'm kind of searching around in your podcast. I'm

29:54

listening to the different ones and I start getting

29:56

myself all worked up and freaked out a little

29:58

bit. holding

32:00

this old knife, standing there in my

32:02

underwear, and I'm like

32:04

getting up the courage to

32:06

go outside, stone

32:09

cold sober, and

32:12

the thing that breaks the silence, is

32:15

my cat, Gator. I

32:18

hear the cat flap, the cat door, and

32:21

I hear him come out and he goes, ow?

32:23

Which he kind of has this like, he

32:25

sounds like he's asking a question.

32:29

And immediately the moment he does that, all

32:31

the sounds come back. All the

32:33

white noise, all the trains, all of the

32:35

ambulance in the distance, the rustling wind. I

32:37

could even hear wind in that moment. Everything

32:39

kind of comes back. It was almost like

32:41

he had broke the silence. But what

32:43

it sounded like to me, it was as

32:46

though everything, the trees, the houses, the highway,

32:48

just everything's just holding its breath for a

32:50

moment, or had been paused for a moment.

32:53

And then it got broken by my loud

32:55

cat, which is kind

32:57

of funny, but it also kind

32:59

of broke the fear in me hearing him.

33:01

So I go outside, I pet him. I

33:04

look around, everything looks normal. But

33:06

I go back inside and I

33:08

go back into the bathroom. I pick up the guitar

33:10

and I'm like, I gotta get this song

33:12

done so I can get some sleep. And

33:15

I look at the clock and

33:17

it is 5 a.m. And,

33:23

which is crazy. I go

33:25

back outside, I look around, and yeah, the

33:27

light's starting to change. The sun is coming

33:29

up. And so I think I

33:31

mentioned it to be, I started this at like 10

33:33

p.m. I couldn't have played music for

33:36

more than two hours, tops,

33:38

I don't even think that long. And

33:41

I listened to the silence for like, I don't know, 10,

33:44

20 minutes maybe, just standing there with

33:46

the knife in my underwear, just freaking

33:48

myself out. And now

33:50

somehow it's 5 a.m., which is

33:53

bizarre because I'm thinking about the mirrored

33:56

men, which are related to lost time.

33:58

And I guess that's the thing. get into this zone

34:01

about it, I'm playing this song about it,

34:03

and then I lose like what five hours

34:05

of time all of a sudden and yeah

34:07

it freaked me out. So

34:09

I was just like

34:11

I'm done for the night, I'll get back to the

34:13

song later, I finished it the next day but I'm

34:15

a bit somewhat of a

34:17

skeptic you know like I get a kick out of

34:19

this kind of stuff I like your podcast that's

34:22

the first time that I've noticed a

34:24

time slip or anything or a lost

34:26

time and I don't really know what

34:28

means I know that just from

34:31

listening to your podcast and other ones some

34:33

people have suggested that all the paranormal

34:36

weird stuff is all kind of

34:38

intertwined and that the

34:40

reason that it sets

34:43

off this kind of spooky fear in

34:45

us is because the whatever

34:47

the fear part of your brain or the

34:50

adrenaline that gets released it somehow taps into

34:52

this stuff I don't know I

34:54

probably just freaked myself out because it was late

34:56

at night and I was thinking about the mirrored

34:58

man but I thought it was worth sharing because

35:00

it was kind of interesting I've never heard that kind

35:02

of silence before and I'm really

35:04

grateful for Gator for coming out and breaking it

35:06

with his meow. I appreciate you,

35:08

talk to you later. Thanks David. I'm

35:29

going by one, two, three,

35:31

four, three, two, four,

35:34

three, four, four, five,

35:37

six, seven, eight, nine,

35:39

nine

35:41

nine, nine, nine, nine.

35:50

I haven't already. I highly suggest you go

35:52

check out that mirrored man's special. And

35:55

again, that's season 15, episode seven.

36:00

That's actually Rob the Taxman himself

36:02

with The Mered Man. The

36:05

actual song written in his

36:07

story. And

36:10

I gotta say it's not bad at all, Rob. In

36:12

fact, it's almost enchanting.

36:16

Now folks, I'll play the full song at the end of

36:18

the broadcast for anyone that would like to hear it in

36:21

its entirety. The

36:25

old Mered Man have been awfully quiet lately.

36:28

I think I need to dig through the library and

36:31

see if we've had any encounters reported lately.

36:35

And you know I saw a comment online

36:37

somewhere recently where someone was

36:39

asking if all the Mered Man witnesses are

36:42

still alive and not

36:44

at strange or unusual ends. Well,

36:48

I can't say for certain that they all are, but

36:51

I can say with the utmost confidence

36:54

that the original Mered Man witness is

36:56

still going strong. Hello,

36:58

man. But

37:00

how about the rest of you? If

37:04

you died as a result of these nefarious

37:06

figures, do me a favor

37:08

and reach out and let me know. And

37:12

speaking of my old friend, Matt The Mered

37:14

Man Witness, we had a couple of

37:17

guests join us this year. And

37:20

Matt was one of them. Where

37:22

he discussed his encounter with us in

37:24

more detail. And

37:27

we were also joined by Ally from

37:29

Let's Get Haunted for a

37:31

special Between Season episode. And

37:34

I was also joined a few times by my

37:36

wife Sarah over on the Beyond. I'd

37:41

like to have more guests on the program. So

37:44

I'll see what I can do about that in this upcoming

37:46

year. Not only is

37:48

it fun to get to other perspectives, but

37:51

it also helps the show immensely in

37:53

its growth and outreach. Now,

37:58

folks, if you have a call, you would like to... have shared

38:00

on the show. Perhaps he

38:02

mirrored men call. Just

38:04

ring us up on our hotline

38:07

at 888-608-NIGHT. That's

38:12

888-608-NIGHT. Now

38:17

then, this next entry seemed

38:19

like something out of a movie. It

38:21

was hotly debated when it first premiered on Season

38:24

15, Episode 12. Devin

38:28

from Washington State. Welcome

38:31

to the program. Hello,

38:34

this is Devin calling

38:36

from Washington, Wenatchee. The

38:39

encounter that I want to

38:41

tell you happened in Missouri.

38:44

It was Martin

38:47

City. So

38:49

I was probably about 14,

38:51

maybe 15 when it happened.

38:56

And I was in a group

38:58

home type facility and

39:01

I had run

39:04

away. And I was

39:06

on the run and I was

39:08

in the woods when this had taken place. I

39:12

was walking through the woods and I

39:14

had come across the soybean field. And

39:17

it was in the middle of the night. I would

39:20

guess probably between 11 and midnight

39:23

somewhere in there. I was

39:25

walking through the soybean field and I was, well,

39:28

I was getting ready to walk into the

39:30

soybean field. I just exited

39:32

the woods and it

39:34

entered into the soybean field. And I

39:37

was watching a herd of deer that

39:40

were eating the soybeans. They

39:43

hadn't noticed me yet. And

39:46

all of a sudden they lifted their head and

39:48

they looked over to the wood line across

39:51

the soybean field on the

39:53

other side of me and they

39:56

got really scared. They

39:58

took off and ran into to the

40:00

woods and I

40:03

wondered what they had seen. In

40:05

Missouri, we don't have a lot

40:07

of apex predators besides like coyotes,

40:11

feral dogs. In the

40:13

location that I was in, we do

40:15

not have any mountain lions, bears, anything

40:18

like that. But I

40:21

had seen a figure step out

40:23

of the woods and

40:25

walk into the soybean field. They

40:27

looked like a person wearing a

40:30

trench coat and

40:32

they had the same looking

40:35

hat as the Jeepers Creepers

40:37

guy. I didn't

40:39

know what to think at first. I thought it

40:41

was a person, maybe a homeless person. So

40:44

I had kind of stepped back into the

40:46

wood line and I seen

40:49

the figure kind of

40:52

crouched down and

40:54

then he jumped up.

40:57

I would probably say about 10 to 15 feet

41:02

is what it looked like. And

41:04

then a pair of

41:06

bat-like wings came

41:09

out and he had

41:11

flapped down really hard and

41:14

I could hear the sound of the wings

41:16

flapping as he ascended.

41:20

At first, I didn't think that it was real. I

41:23

was kind of in awe and shock

41:26

so much that I wasn't even really scared.

41:29

He had jumped up and when he

41:31

started to fly away, he was flying

41:34

in the opposite direction of me.

41:36

So his back was facing basically

41:39

towards me when he had

41:41

flew away and he flew

41:43

over the woods and that was

41:46

the last that I had seen. He

41:48

didn't make any other sounds but

41:51

I could definitely hear the sound

41:53

of his wings flapping as

41:56

he flew away. To this

41:58

day, I still don't quite believe. I don't believe what

42:00

I've seen. I don't know what it

42:02

is. I do believe that demons

42:06

walk this earth. So maybe

42:08

that was it. Yeah, I

42:10

just wanted to share that story.

42:12

I've never really told anybody that.

42:15

And fear that nobody would really believe me.

42:18

But I wanted to share that story on here.

42:20

I hope you can use this and thanks

42:22

again. Jeepers

42:25

creepers, Devon. The skull

42:27

stuck with me as well. Well,

42:31

any story with a monster of

42:33

any sort always has my heart.

42:37

And this one certainly struck a chord. So

42:40

thank you again, Devon, for taking the time to share

42:42

it. Now,

42:46

folks, I finally have

42:48

some news as to the release of our feature film,

42:52

Shadows in the Desert High Strangeness in

42:54

the Brago Triangle. At

42:56

long last we've received our official release

42:59

date, which is March

43:01

5th, 2024. Now we

43:04

don't know yet where we'll be streaming.

43:07

That info will trickle down to us in a month or

43:09

so. But for now, the

43:11

biggest hurdle has been jumped. So

43:14

mark your calendars for March 5th, 2024. Hopefully

43:18

streaming on many different

43:20

online platforms. Now,

43:23

as for you Kickstarter backers, we'll

43:26

be in touch very soon to verify your

43:28

information again. We're

43:31

confident that we'll get these rewards mailed out sometime

43:33

before the official release. We're

43:36

just waiting on those DVD Blu-rays to

43:39

include in the package. Thank

43:42

you so much for your patience. Now,

43:48

the rest of you don't need to be patient any

43:50

longer to hear this next best of

43:52

entry. And

43:54

for all those Monster Squad members out there, this

43:58

one might sound familiar. But

44:00

to the rest of you, this thing

44:02

is brand new. So

44:05

from the Beyond portion of Season 15, Episode

44:07

2, please welcome

44:10

this anonymous scholar, out

44:12

of the state of Kentucky. Hi

44:17

Derek, I'm calling in from Western Kentucky,

44:20

actually where Kentucky, Indiana, and

44:22

Illinois all kind of converge.

44:25

I'm going in without

44:28

stating my name, it's not my story,

44:30

this is my wife's story. But

44:34

to begin with, so my

44:36

wife for years would drive her mom

44:38

back and forth to work, and her

44:41

mom worked odd hours, your

44:43

typical third shift, 11 to 7 kind of

44:45

thing. Same

44:47

job for all those years, same route the whole

44:49

time. So there was one night

44:51

where she was driving her mom

44:53

to work, and she said what

44:56

she described to me as, I think

44:58

she called them long dogs or tall

45:00

dogs, something like that. And

45:03

I've asked her about it a few times, and she

45:05

said, you know, that they

45:08

were big dogs with

45:10

abnormally long legs, specifically

45:13

the back legs higher

45:16

and longer than the front legs. Both

45:19

were kind of loping along with this

45:21

odd gait. She said they

45:23

were like a reddish brown, and there were

45:25

either two or three of them. So

45:28

she was driving down the road,

45:31

and she was approaching them from

45:33

behind. So she saw their backs or haunches

45:35

first, and didn't really know what they were,

45:37

and she got a little closer. She

45:40

could see that either one of them or all of them

45:42

had their heads turned back

45:44

looking behind them at her

45:46

approaching. And just about the time

45:48

that she recognized what

45:51

they were, they just sort

45:53

of dissipated. I don't know

45:55

if they just blinked out or kind of

45:58

went away in a dissolved a living

46:00

pattern or what, but they disappeared.

46:03

So you would think that this would make

46:06

the situation weirder, but it gave her a

46:08

moment of relief. She thought, okay,

46:11

I'm tired, I'm seeing things,

46:13

I need to get home, get to bed. And

46:15

right about that time, her mom piped up

46:18

from the passenger seat and said something to

46:20

the effect of, did you see those dogs?

46:23

What was wrong with those dogs? But

46:25

either way, she had seen the same thing that my

46:28

wife did. My mother-in-law tends

46:30

to be fairly superstitious and it's always driven

46:32

my wife crazy. She just didn't respond to

46:34

her mom because she didn't want to get

46:36

her amped up. She didn't

46:38

feel like getting into it, something like

46:40

that with her mom that late at

46:42

night. But they're not from

46:45

the area. They're from Milwaukee, but

46:47

they've lived here long enough. They've driven that

46:49

route longer. Both of them are

46:51

familiar with the wildlife of the area, countless

46:54

deer, occasional fox, Cody,

46:57

whatever, this is the only time that either one

46:59

of them had seen anything like that. And

47:01

just the fact that they

47:03

both saw the same thing without either one of

47:05

them saying anything to each other just

47:08

lends a bit more credence to the story.

47:11

My wife and I are both lifelong

47:13

atheists and as such are just, tend

47:16

to be prone to skepticism. But

47:19

I mean, when something like that happens and

47:22

you can't explain it, I mean, it is what it is.

47:25

Yeah, I'm enjoying the podcast and thanks for

47:27

your time. Now

47:30

this call fascinated me when it played earlier

47:32

this year. I

47:34

just couldn't tell what he was referring to. Long

47:38

dogs. Was it

47:40

some sort of new breed or

47:42

a monster or something

47:44

else unexplainable? Delaney

47:47

did a pretty good job of taking

47:50

up local tales describing similar strange

47:52

canines, but no

47:54

real explanation was ever found. So

47:58

I figured I'd play it here. against

48:00

a bigger net, so to speak. Perhaps

48:04

someone out there knows exactly what

48:07

her caller was referring to. It's

48:14

Hot Mike with Hutton and Wifro, where daily

48:16

we discuss the National Football League and

48:18

the push for the postseason. In the AFC,

48:20

plenty of teams trying to jockey for positioning

48:23

in the NFC. Well, the best teams in

48:25

the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles and San

48:27

Francisco 49ers. Hold on, Hutton. Not just those

48:29

teams, but how about the Detroit Lions as

48:31

one of the best teams in the NFL?

48:34

Other shows may not mention that or talk about it.

48:36

We will. We are on board

48:38

with Detroit's. Subscribe to the podcast. Join us

48:44

the NFL college football and the top headlines

48:46

from outkick.com. Now,

48:52

we know the paranormal news highlight of the year

48:55

was back in October when

48:57

an upright, hairy humanoid, spotted

49:00

on the Colorado mountain. And.

49:04

Caught on video. The

49:07

video of what looks like Bigfoot walking

49:09

around southern Colorado. Take

49:12

a look and see what you think.

49:14

A couple shared this video on social

49:16

media saying they spotted Bigfoot while riding

49:18

the Durango and Silverton narrow gauge railroad

49:20

train. They told Out there, Colorado,

49:22

most people on the train didn't notice

49:24

anything. Over the years, there

49:26

have been more than 100 reported Bigfoot

49:29

sightings in Colorado. Now

49:32

that clip via K USA

49:35

NBC News 9 out of Denver. And

49:38

from what I understand, this was

49:40

thought to be some sort of publicity stunt.

49:44

In fact, a local business that has

49:46

Bigfoot in the name is not

49:48

to be behind the break. Which

49:52

I think it very obviously is. Because

49:55

no secret of Forest Giant just

49:58

walks out in front of a train like that. If

50:01

they did, we would have found these

50:03

things a long time ago. But

50:10

what about some of those sightings that

50:12

can't be explained? Like

50:14

this one from Season 15, Episode 10. A

50:19

Bigfoot encounter from Ray here

50:23

in California. Hi,

50:26

my name is Ray. I actually live

50:29

in San Antonio, Texas. But my story

50:31

actually took place in Grass Valley, California.

50:34

When I was really young, I was

50:37

listening to your podcast for the

50:39

first time last night. And there was a 911 call

50:41

about a Bigfoot on

50:44

Calabra Road in 151,

50:46

which is pretty much where I've lived my whole

50:48

life. And it made me really want to tell

50:51

my story because I've been telling it my whole

50:53

life to everybody and most funny. But I

50:55

remember back and it absolutely terrified me

50:57

when I was young. My

50:59

entire family, my dad's side, my mom's

51:01

side, are from Nevada City, Grass

51:04

Valley, California, which is kind of northern

51:06

California, up in the mountains. Used to

51:08

be a gold mining town, lots and

51:10

lots and lots of forests out

51:12

there. And then my grandparents lived really

51:14

high up on a hill, almost

51:17

like on a mountain. So

51:19

whenever we'd go to visit them, we would stay

51:22

in my mom's old room, my sister and I.

51:26

And where the bed was, the window was

51:28

to my right, which kind of faced the

51:30

backyard, which there was no fence. It just

51:32

literally looked out into the woods. But

51:35

we were high up off the ground so you could kind of see

51:37

further down. There was a big wooden deck with stairs that

51:40

went all the way down to the ground. And

51:42

so one night I was asleep

51:44

and I woke up. I

51:48

had probably been staying there for at this point maybe three,

51:50

four days while we were visiting. And

51:52

I woke up and at the foot of

51:54

my bed I Would see the

51:56

light coming from the patio outside

51:58

of the window. No. Shining

52:00

Oswald The For the My Dad. Because

52:03

the light fixture was kind of right outside when

52:05

he'd go home to the the upper deck and

52:08

so if you would take a left when you

52:10

not the back door and walk may be no

52:12

eight or nine feet the window to the room

52:14

I was staying in would be kind of right

52:16

there. So those allies that just wanna know tested

52:18

it and and it always made me feel really

52:20

comfortable and safe but this one not. I woke

52:22

up. And no telling their

52:24

and. I remember looking at

52:26

the for the my bed and

52:29

immediately noticed that the different meals

52:31

there used to kind of. Not

52:33

seeing nothing on the wall. maybe to sing

52:35

penalize the shadow of of the blinds you know

52:37

course on the was no kind of on

52:40

the wall. And. And

52:42

if we know something kind of. Shift.

52:45

Into. View. I

52:47

guess you could say never with you but

52:49

the shadow just kinda. Moot into.

52:52

And. All. I could

52:54

see was. The

52:56

shadow of head. And.

53:00

Shoulders. It

53:03

seemed really big. Really? Broad.

53:06

And. A mini i am a

53:08

member neatly kind of stuff, stuffing

53:10

breathing because I was. So. Scared

53:13

I was. maybe? I've

53:15

years old. Was really young so this

53:17

would have been make them with. Links.

53:20

And eighty Nine or had to guess

53:22

that's our core. Five said I was

53:24

really young, but I remember being wide

53:26

awake and seeing it and I just

53:29

sat. And Stargate and I remember having

53:31

a cutters kind of pulled up to my chin. And

53:34

being so afraid to even blink or greed

53:36

because I feel as if I did whatever

53:38

it was would. You know,

53:40

Know. That I was watching it. Are. Watching

53:43

a shadow. And. A once

53:45

in a stand up. The most me was

53:47

that it was freezing outside. And.

53:49

I could tell that the shadow was

53:51

something that looked carry. The.

53:54

head thought the shoulder that know the

53:56

necklaces mother had condemned the shoulders and

53:58

know stretched out I could

54:01

see that it was covered in hair

54:03

because the wind outside

54:05

was moving it. And

54:07

I remember focusing on that more than

54:09

anything, more than the size of it,

54:11

but just seeing the breeze

54:13

blow the fur on the shadow on the

54:15

wall. And I don't know how

54:17

long I started it. I feel like I started it

54:20

for an eternity because I was so afraid. All I wanted

54:22

to do was get out of bed and run and

54:24

get my mom and my grandparents. But

54:27

again, I was just so frozen with fear I couldn't move.

54:30

So I just remember kind of slowly,

54:32

but surely, you know, going up the covers more,

54:34

you know, as much as I could

54:37

until they covered my face. So

54:39

I didn't have to look at it anymore. And

54:41

then I remember waking up in the morning and

54:43

immediately kind of looking back at the wall, you know,

54:45

the day the sun was out, the

54:47

shadow, of course, was gone with daylight. And

54:50

you know, I remember getting out of bed

54:52

and going to the back, you know, walking

54:54

out of the room, down the hall, through

54:56

the dining room and, you know, sliding open

54:58

the patio door to the back deck. And

55:01

you know, even though it was daylight, I was still

55:04

terrified. And I remember just kind of sliding it and

55:06

sticking my head out and looking to the

55:08

left down the walkway of the

55:12

deck. And there's nothing, you

55:14

know, and I kind of remember looking around

55:16

at like what, even at

55:18

that age, I remember thinking maybe something else cast a

55:20

shadow, but it was just an

55:22

empty deck. There

55:24

was nothing out there except further down to the right.

55:26

There was a little, you know, fridge, you know, a

55:29

little, my grandpa kept his beer, but it was, you

55:31

know, like I said, far to the right. There was

55:33

really nothing that the light,

55:35

you know, would have, that I could see that

55:37

would have caught it and looked the way it

55:40

did, you know, with the shoulders and the bra

55:42

and the fur. Then I,

55:44

you know, kind of remember just, you know, looking

55:46

out into the woods and just getting

55:49

so scared. I just, I went in and I just, I

55:51

couldn't go out there. For as long

55:53

as I can remember, I was always afraid to go back

55:55

out there. Anytime we go for a walk, I was always

55:57

very, you know, jittery and, you know,

55:59

no one believes I told my parents, my

56:02

grandparents, and they all just laughed at

56:04

me. But yeah, they had never

56:06

seen anything. My grandpa to this day says he

56:08

never ever heard anything out there. But

56:11

I know I wasn't dreaming. I know I was awake. And

56:14

again, the biggest thing that I remember more than anything

56:16

was just the fur, the

56:18

hair, kind of moving in the wind

56:20

back and forth, and just how it

56:22

slid into view or slid into the

56:24

light and was

56:27

motionless, you know, just sat there. It didn't

56:30

move, only the fur, you know, kind of caught the wind. But

56:33

yeah, that was my story. I

56:35

really appreciate you guys giving me a chance to tell it as

56:37

well. Thank

56:43

you, Ray. Now

56:45

I don't recall exactly what I said about this

56:48

call when it first aired, but

56:50

now I can't help but wonder, I mean,

56:53

listen to it again. If

56:55

this wasn't simply a raccoon. Now

56:59

I have a family of them that crawl all over

57:01

my house almost every night. I've

57:03

tried everything to dissuade them. I've

57:07

even installed spikes to keep them off the roof.

57:11

But they're clever and persistent. They

57:13

just find another way. But

57:16

they do stand up on their hind legs, and if

57:18

they caught the light just right, the

57:21

shadow that Ray described could be

57:23

simply that, a little

57:25

raccoon peeking in the window. Now

57:28

of course, that's just a thought. I

57:30

certainly can't say for sure that's what it was.

57:34

But regardless, what

57:36

a cool and interesting call. So

57:39

thank you again, Ray, for sharing it

57:41

with us. Now

57:46

folks, the shop has officially reopened. So

57:50

57:52

57:54

57:56

tab to grab that gear

57:58

today. Now

58:03

next up is another that was previously

58:05

behind a paywall, something that

58:07

will be Stephen King novel. Please

58:11

welcome the following caller out

58:13

of New Mexico. So

58:17

I just called in and left a

58:20

couple other stories, but I just couldn't

58:22

help myself about this one because it

58:24

was just so odd. It's been a

58:26

long, strange trip in this life. So

58:29

this one comes from a period of

58:31

my life. Six or seven years ago,

58:33

I was living

58:35

in the New Mexico desert,

58:37

but traveling a lot back

58:39

to the Midwest, my

58:42

father's health was failing. So at least

58:44

once a month, I would make the long journey

58:46

to and fro the desert

58:48

in the Midwest. Then I would

58:50

stop about halfway in between around

58:53

Oklahoma City or Tulsa and Santa,

58:55

cheap hotel because I was kind

58:57

of broke. And one

58:59

night was just in deep sleep in the

59:01

middle of the night and hold up in

59:04

my little cheapo motel. And

59:06

it was the type of motel that

59:08

was set up more so like a

59:10

hotel where you had the internal structure

59:13

of the hallways. So you

59:15

had the hallways and all the rooms that

59:17

come off it and the multiple levels, then

59:19

deep, deep sleep. And

59:21

I abruptly was woken up by

59:23

three really loud, really quick knocks.

59:26

My first thought was, oh, something's happened

59:29

and it's the cops, you know, something's

59:31

happened in the building or something's wrong.

59:34

So I immediately shot up and I went

59:36

to the door and looked out the hole. And

59:39

when I looked out the hole, there

59:42

was a creature,

59:45

person potentially

59:47

that looked like a

59:50

jester. I was just trying

59:52

to wrap my head around it and figure out

59:54

a way to verbalize this. My

59:57

impression that I got was that it was not

59:59

full of stuff. human. It

1:00:01

was human size but

1:00:04

it just had a totally

1:00:06

different representation. About the height

1:00:09

I'm guessing of like an

1:00:11

average male, maybe a little

1:00:14

bit taller, about closer to

1:00:16

six feet, wearing all white

1:00:19

and purple like run-of-the-mill gestury

1:00:21

type clothing, face paint,

1:00:25

super dirty and

1:00:27

disheveled. The hats with

1:00:29

the three or four long

1:00:31

points on it and yeah

1:00:33

just really, really dirty like the white

1:00:36

part of the get-up was

1:00:38

just really disheveled and dirty. So

1:00:40

I stepped back from the door

1:00:42

for a minute and was terrified.

1:00:45

Obviously heart racing felt sick but

1:00:47

I had to verify what I saw so

1:00:49

I immediately looked back through the hole and

1:00:52

there was no one or nothing

1:00:54

there, literally nothing. And with the type

1:00:56

of little peephole you could see pretty far down. I

1:00:58

mean like I was like I didn't want to open

1:01:00

the door because I was terrified but I

1:01:02

was looking down both sides of the hallway

1:01:04

through the peephole. There was nothing there

1:01:07

and no way that whatever

1:01:09

was there could have ran

1:01:11

or it just

1:01:14

disappeared. Obviously I had a

1:01:16

really hard time getting back to sleep, didn't get

1:01:18

back to sleep that day which sucked

1:01:20

because I had a really long drive ahead

1:01:22

of me the next day. And since then

1:01:24

I've just kind of tried to put it

1:01:26

back kind of in

1:01:28

you know the depths of my memory because

1:01:30

it was so strange and I don't have

1:01:32

an explanation and over

1:01:35

the years I think I've tried to come to

1:01:37

terms with it just in

1:01:39

my own personal knowing and

1:01:42

belief that we do live in

1:01:44

a dimension among other dimensions that

1:01:47

contain other entities

1:01:49

and creatures and to

1:01:51

just be real with

1:01:53

that. And diving into it a

1:01:56

little bit more I have you know kind of like

1:01:58

tried to search on it a little bit. in.

1:02:00

The conclusion I've come to is

1:02:02

that maybe what I saw was

1:02:04

the type of creature that Native

1:02:06

Americans would call like the héioca

1:02:09

or like through lore, you know,

1:02:12

there's the gesture type figure,

1:02:14

the pied piper type character,

1:02:16

these types of gestury clown

1:02:19

type, there is the clown archetype.

1:02:22

Because we see things that are obscure

1:02:24

and have these obscure

1:02:26

sightings, it doesn't mean that

1:02:28

we're crazy or that we're

1:02:30

imagining things or that we're

1:02:32

dreaming. It just is. It

1:02:34

just is truth and reality

1:02:36

and our brains and our

1:02:38

vision are protected in a

1:02:41

way from taking in all

1:02:43

the stimuli and all the

1:02:45

different dimensions that are constantly

1:02:47

swirling around us because

1:02:49

there's only so much that the human brain

1:02:51

and body can handle or has evolved to

1:02:53

handle up until this point. But

1:02:56

the type of figure that I

1:02:58

saw in retrospect, I

1:03:00

believe is some kind of

1:03:02

a clown archetype, whatever

1:03:04

you want to call it. And what

1:03:07

has helped really bring home the

1:03:09

truth of it for me and

1:03:11

solidify my truth is that this

1:03:13

archetype has shown up throughout time

1:03:15

in various cultures

1:03:18

and exists for a

1:03:20

reason. So thanks so much for

1:03:22

listening to my stories. Have a beautiful day. Now

1:03:27

when we make the long drive back to

1:03:29

Ohio, the Oklahoma City

1:03:31

area is also a stopping point for

1:03:34

us. We've stayed in

1:03:36

several hotels in that area over the years.

1:03:40

Nothing unusual ever happens, but

1:03:42

there are plenty of oil workers. It's

1:03:45

like a dormitory for those guys. But

1:03:50

you know we did have a weird

1:03:52

experience in New Mexico coincidentally. It

1:03:55

was the last time we had driven back and

1:03:58

we were traveling with our cats. in our boyjack.

1:04:01

Went absolutely bananas in the room

1:04:03

we rented. He

1:04:05

meowed and howled and paced around the entire

1:04:07

night that we were there. Finally,

1:04:10

at around 3am, having

1:04:12

gotten no sleep at all, I sent out with it,

1:04:15

and we packed up and took off. Wouldn't

1:04:19

you know he was fine the

1:04:21

second we left the threshold. I'm just

1:04:25

thankful we didn't see a Chester-like

1:04:27

character. I

1:04:30

might have been howling. Like old

1:04:32

Jackie boy was. Maybe

1:04:36

he knew something, we didn't. Now

1:04:42

moving on, we ventured to the next top

1:04:44

paranormal news story of 2023. Back on

1:04:48

July 2nd on a routine flight

1:04:50

from Dallas to Orlando. Something

1:04:53

happened that caused one passenger to lose

1:04:58

all control. The woman

1:05:00

who was removed from a Dallas side

1:05:02

after an effort has now

1:05:04

gone viral. Take a look. I'm not

1:05:06

going to be back there, it's not real. And

1:05:10

you can sit on this plane and you can

1:05:12

die with him or not. I'm

1:05:14

not going to. As you just heard,

1:05:17

the woman was pointing to the

1:05:19

back on the plane saying someone

1:05:21

was not real. American Airlines confirms

1:05:23

the plane was heading from DFW

1:05:25

to Orlando but had to return

1:05:27

to its gate due to this

1:05:29

woman's outburst. Now

1:05:32

if I clip from KHOU, CBS

1:05:35

News 11 out of Houston. And

1:05:39

it seems this lady, and I'll leave her name out of

1:05:41

it, came clean about the

1:05:43

encounter back in November, claiming

1:05:45

it was all in her head and

1:05:47

her outburst had nothing to do with her litany

1:05:51

outside force or

1:05:53

entity. So

1:05:56

luckily too much to drink or

1:05:58

a bad reaction to medication. Something

1:06:01

along those lines is what I'm gathering. But

1:06:06

then again, people are strange.

1:06:10

People do weird things. So

1:06:13

maybe she did see something. Like

1:06:16

Dave, in Utah, who

1:06:19

had some strange experiences with other people.

1:06:23

Do you remember his entry from all the

1:06:25

way back in Season 14, Episode

1:06:27

17? Hey

1:06:31

guys, this is Dave from Northern Utah. So I'm

1:06:34

calling to report a couple

1:06:37

incidences of doppelgangers and

1:06:39

a potential contact from them. So

1:06:42

last week I was driving

1:06:44

turning right, and

1:06:47

as I was turning right, a Jeep was turning left. And

1:06:50

so we passed within a few feet of

1:06:52

each other, well enough to see the driver.

1:06:54

And I looked over and

1:06:57

it just so happened to look like

1:06:59

my aunt. I was talking to my mother

1:07:01

on the phone at the time, and I told

1:07:03

her, hey, it's odd to see her here. I

1:07:05

want to call her and see what's going on.

1:07:08

So I hung up with my mother and I called

1:07:10

my aunt and I was saying, hey, how are

1:07:12

you? What are you doing? I just saw you. And

1:07:15

I could tell by the background noise, the second that

1:07:18

I got done saying that, that I

1:07:20

definitely did not see her because she sounded like she

1:07:22

was in a public place and not in her car.

1:07:25

And sure enough, when the voice came back across

1:07:27

the phone, it was my uncle. And he was

1:07:29

like, well, actually, no, you didn't just

1:07:32

see her. We are in Idaho, nowhere near

1:07:34

where you are. And I guess I in

1:07:36

Northern Utah. And I was like, oh, well,

1:07:38

all right. And then I guess that settles

1:07:40

that. And so I described it to him and I was

1:07:42

like, it looked just like your Jeep. It looked just like

1:07:45

her. And he just laughed and he

1:07:47

said, nope, definitely not her. And so

1:07:49

that was that. So fast forward about a

1:07:51

week later, I stopped in my aunt and

1:07:53

uncle's houses. I was driving past it from

1:07:55

work one day and I was like, hey,

1:07:57

that was so strange. Like I was so

1:07:59

sure. that I saw you and my aunt

1:08:01

continued to tell me, oh, I

1:08:03

have people call me weekly saying that they

1:08:05

think they saw me, but it's not me.

1:08:07

She's like, I definitely have a couple of

1:08:09

doppelgangers. And that just become a

1:08:11

reality to me is what my aunt said

1:08:14

to me. So I chalked it up to

1:08:16

just weird and, but it was a

1:08:18

little uncomfortable. Like I was never more sure in my

1:08:20

life if that was her. Fast

1:08:23

forward again, today is April 18th.

1:08:28

So last night on April 17th, my

1:08:31

wife and I were driving a small back

1:08:33

country road, letting our dogs just run along

1:08:35

the dirt road, trying to get some energy

1:08:37

up before bed. And

1:08:39

we saw a car coming, so we pulled the dogs back

1:08:42

in the truck for a minute. And as

1:08:44

the car passed, I was more

1:08:46

than positive that it was one of my

1:08:48

friends. It was just Toyota Tacoma. It

1:08:50

had the same stickers in all the places that

1:08:52

I knew it had, had the same light bar.

1:08:55

The guy had my friend's duck hunting hat

1:08:57

that he always has on, a big bushy

1:08:59

beer. And it was heading

1:09:01

towards the direction of my friend's house. And

1:09:03

so I was never more positive. So I texted him when I

1:09:05

got home. I was like, hey, I just saw

1:09:08

you on the road. And he was like, no, you didn't.

1:09:10

He's like, I've been at work since 3 a.m. Like it

1:09:13

wasn't me. And I was so

1:09:15

strange. So I told him who it looked like.

1:09:17

And he was like, you know, he got mad

1:09:19

because he wants his truck to be the only

1:09:21

one that looks like that. So he was all

1:09:23

mad that somebody had the nerve to

1:09:25

make a Toyota that looks like his and whatnot.

1:09:28

And so I was just like,

1:09:30

oh, that is so strange. Two incidents as

1:09:32

a doppelganger in one week. Like how could

1:09:34

that be? Well,

1:09:37

to make it worse, like I

1:09:39

said, today was April 18th. Yesterday

1:09:41

was April 17th. And that

1:09:43

was the second incident in a one week

1:09:45

period that I swear that I saw somebody

1:09:47

that it wasn't them. But like I was

1:09:49

more than positive. We passed within four

1:09:52

feet of each other. And like I said, I

1:09:54

just have never been more positive in my life.

1:09:56

So I get a phone call today from an unknown

1:09:59

number. that my caller ID wouldn't

1:10:01

pick up and I answer those

1:10:04

as a self-employed contractor I answer them

1:10:06

on I said hello this is so-and-so

1:10:08

and all I got was stop

1:10:11

asking your friends they are

1:10:13

them no more questions and

1:10:17

they hung up so

1:10:19

I have no idea what that was

1:10:21

about I tried to call it back as

1:10:24

a matter of fact it freaked me out so much

1:10:26

that I called my friend that works at a police

1:10:29

department to try to track the phone call track

1:10:31

the number if you could get it and

1:10:34

we'll see what I get but it was just

1:10:37

yeah it's really strange thanks

1:10:39

guys love the podcast enjoy bye

1:10:45

Derek Dave from Northern Utah again I just

1:10:47

called in with a doll from getting her

1:10:49

story and I figured I would hurry and

1:10:51

call back and just give a little bit

1:10:54

of detail about some interesting things beyond those

1:10:56

two strange occur three strange occurrences I suppose

1:10:59

so my aunt when I swear I

1:11:02

saw her it was

1:11:04

like two in the afternoon so

1:11:06

broad daylight sunny sky clear

1:11:09

as could be when I saw my

1:11:11

friend it was probably 1130

1:11:13

at night so a little bit darker but

1:11:15

like I said the truck

1:11:18

and this one might have a little bit to say

1:11:20

about maybe why there was some confusion beyond

1:11:23

the point that I said he's got some very interesting

1:11:26

this stickers in his back

1:11:28

window he's got a couple of

1:11:30

sticks like he just thought it would be

1:11:32

a funny sticker so it's like a very

1:11:34

unique he has that made sticker and this

1:11:37

had it but this truck had a light

1:11:39

bar and the light bar was on so

1:11:41

not only like so we were half blinded

1:11:43

but when he went past he was

1:11:46

driving slow enough that I was

1:11:48

able to adjust and the light bar was

1:11:50

so bright it was able to adjust and

1:11:52

make his face brighter I could see inside

1:11:54

the cab much better so like

1:11:56

I said I saw these people very

1:11:58

clearly And I don't

1:12:01

know, I've been caught up with the

1:12:03

podcast and the last few episodes seem

1:12:05

to have had some doppelgangers in them.

1:12:07

So maybe I'm self-projecting doppelgangers

1:12:09

into places where they're

1:12:12

not simply because I've been listening to

1:12:14

the podcast and I've

1:12:16

just been thinking about them more. I don't know. Anyway,

1:12:19

so yeah, I just thought I'd give you a little bit

1:12:21

more information in that way. Once again,

1:12:23

love the podcast, keep it up. Appreciate it.

1:12:25

Y'all have a good day. Bye. Thanks,

1:12:30

Dave. Now

1:12:32

on that original entry, Dave

1:12:34

calls back with additional information. So

1:12:38

go to season 14, episode 17 to

1:12:41

catch all that added info.

1:12:45

Now you know, folks, doppelgangers have seemed

1:12:47

to be all the rage this year. We've

1:12:50

seen an increase in these sorts of reports here

1:12:52

on the show. And

1:12:54

each of those calls seem to generate quite

1:12:57

the buzz. There's

1:13:00

something about these mysterious lookalikes that

1:13:02

really resonates with people, mostly

1:13:06

in a negative way. And

1:13:08

if that's you that I'm describing, fear

1:13:10

not, because I have several

1:13:13

other doppelganger stories coming down the pike

1:13:15

this coming year. Although

1:13:18

I can't say that any of them involve

1:13:20

creepy phone calls like

1:13:23

Dave's here. That

1:13:26

was some good stuff. Now,

1:13:40

folks, real quick, I'd like to take a moment to

1:13:42

thank everyone for tuning in and sharing the show

1:13:44

with fellow Weirdos. This

1:13:46

past year, according to Spotify, we

1:13:49

created 2,700 minutes of content. It's

1:13:52

45 hours, and

1:13:55

that's not even counting all the beyond bonus

1:13:57

material. We were a

1:13:59

top-level. 10 podcast for 28,000 listeners and

1:14:01

a top 5 for almost 19,000. And

1:14:06

we picked that number 49 on Apple

1:14:09

Podcast Society and Posture charts.

1:14:12

I got to say that's pretty good for a

1:14:14

little indie podcast like this one, especially

1:14:18

a paranormal themed podcast.

1:14:21

That's all thanks to you people. So

1:14:26

take a moment to pat yourself on the back. Shake

1:14:29

your own hand. Thanks

1:14:32

for keeping us running. But

1:14:36

you know, with your help, we can make 2024 even better. Please

1:14:41

share the show on your social media, tell

1:14:43

friends and family to give it a listen

1:14:46

and or buy and wear our merchandise.

1:14:50

Anything we can do to spread the word would be

1:14:52

a huge help to the show. And

1:14:54

it's something greatly appreciated by the

1:14:56

entire monsters among our team.

1:15:02

Now this next entry aired earlier this

1:15:04

season and left all sorts of

1:15:06

people from

1:15:09

parts of the name. Welcome

1:15:13

Ellen. The

1:15:16

situation I am about to

1:15:18

tell you is 100% true. My

1:15:22

name is Ellen. I am now 73

1:15:24

years old. It

1:15:26

happened my sophomore year in high school,

1:15:28

1963, 1964. Over

1:15:34

all this time, I have only told

1:15:36

two people, my sister and

1:15:38

my brother. Why? Because

1:15:41

I felt no one would ever believe

1:15:43

it happened. Growing up,

1:15:45

I lived with my family in our

1:15:47

house in a town outside of Boston.

1:15:50

My sister, who was in the eighth grade at the

1:15:52

time, and I always shared

1:15:55

the same bedroom upstairs. The

1:15:57

furniture in the room was very nice and

1:15:59

basic. two girls sharing

1:16:01

the space. Two desks with

1:16:03

chairs, two bureaus each with

1:16:05

a large mirror on the wall above

1:16:07

it, and two beds with a night

1:16:10

table between the beds and a new

1:16:12

clock radio sitting there. Every

1:16:15

night if we had school the next day

1:16:17

I would turn on the alarm to wake

1:16:19

us up at 6 a.m. The

1:16:21

radio was always tuned to

1:16:24

WBZ 1030 a.m.

1:16:26

in Boston. They played the

1:16:28

only top 40 rock and roll

1:16:30

hits told the news and

1:16:33

weather report which was really

1:16:35

important because if our town canceled school

1:16:37

for the day we would hear the

1:16:39

news for sure. The

1:16:41

routine was always the same. I

1:16:43

would turn the alarm off but keep

1:16:46

the station on so my sister

1:16:48

could wake up and hear the radio. I

1:16:50

would go then downstairs to wash

1:16:52

up first and next I would

1:16:54

come back to the room and take my

1:16:57

shoulder length dark brown hair out of the

1:16:59

hair rollers I had slept in and then

1:17:01

get dressed for school. I

1:17:03

came back to the room in about 20

1:17:05

minutes and started taking the rollers out of

1:17:07

my hair as I looked at myself

1:17:09

in the mirror and I could see

1:17:11

my sister behind me still in bed. I

1:17:14

wasn't sure if she was awake yet. All

1:17:17

of a sudden as I looked in the mirror

1:17:20

I stopped what I was doing and

1:17:22

I tilted my head because I was

1:17:24

hearing music and it was not WBZ.

1:17:28

It was the only music in the room.

1:17:31

It was the most beautiful music I had

1:17:33

ever heard even to this day.

1:17:35

It was heavenly music. Harps,

1:17:38

small tingling bells, violins and

1:17:40

above all very

1:17:43

high-pitched sounds women

1:17:46

singing not words but beautiful

1:17:48

long notes together. I

1:17:51

was so moved by what I heard

1:17:53

it was unbelievable. The music lasted

1:17:55

less than a minute but definitely more than 30

1:17:57

seconds. I didn't want to be in the room.

1:17:59

I wanted to end. I

1:18:02

yelled to my sister, can you hear

1:18:04

the music? It's beautiful. Just

1:18:07

then, it stopped. Then my sister

1:18:09

says to me, why

1:18:11

didn't you leave the radio on? It's

1:18:13

off. I thought I had.

1:18:16

I had done it endless times, but it

1:18:18

was off. So my sister

1:18:20

never heard it and didn't believe me. I

1:18:23

was wide awake and never ever would have

1:18:25

done anything to affect my thinking. I

1:18:27

was just getting ready for another day of school.

1:18:30

I told no one else for many, many

1:18:32

years, only my younger brother. He

1:18:35

was sleeping downstairs back then in his

1:18:37

room and was only about four and a

1:18:40

half years old. He did

1:18:42

not disbelieve me when I told

1:18:44

him years ago. So what

1:18:46

was it? I wish I could hear

1:18:48

it again. I can still hum

1:18:50

the song they sung. And

1:18:52

finally, why was I

1:18:54

the only one who heard it? Thank

1:18:58

you, Ellen. No,

1:19:01

I enjoy calls that occurred some time ago.

1:19:04

Not everything shared here needs to be

1:19:06

a contemporary story. Our

1:19:08

parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents have

1:19:11

and had great paranormal

1:19:13

stories to tell. So

1:19:15

don't be afraid to share them here on the program if

1:19:18

you haven't figured it out yet. I

1:19:21

do my best to feature all walks

1:19:23

of life. So

1:19:26

a big thanks to you, Ellen, for sharing

1:19:29

that tale. Now,

1:19:33

as I'd like to do on these year-end specials, I'd

1:19:36

like to remind everyone of all the guest appearances I've

1:19:38

made over the past year. Just

1:19:41

an additional way to soak up some

1:19:43

of this creepy content. So

1:19:46

in no particular order, here's

1:19:48

that list. Let's

1:19:51

get haunted. Episode 161,

1:19:54

Paranormal Games 2, Play in the Dark, Volume 5.

1:19:57

Make Fucka Lifters Club. Episode 2. I

1:20:04

was on Somewhere in the Skies where

1:20:06

David and I discussed our upcoming

1:20:09

documentary. The

1:20:11

I Like to Watch Podcasts Episode 35

1:20:13

where we discuss the Mothman

1:20:15

Prophecies and of

1:20:17

course the Bandcamp Podcast, the

1:20:19

Halloween Special where we discuss scary

1:20:22

stories to tell in the

1:20:25

dark. This is a podcast so to speak when

1:20:27

I spoke at Anomicon, a

1:20:29

virtual conference on the anomalous hosted by

1:20:32

our friend Ryan Sprigg. So

1:20:35

be sure to seek out those guest appearances

1:20:37

if you'd like to get more of me into your

1:20:41

life. Now folks

1:20:43

this next entry was just played a few weeks

1:20:45

ago but it

1:20:47

seems like people are still talking about it.

1:20:52

Believe it or not I have a bit of an update. So

1:20:55

from the state of Utah please welcome

1:20:58

Tina back to the show. Hi

1:21:03

Derek my name is Tina and I am from St.

1:21:06

George, Utah. This happened

1:21:08

in the summer of 2022. I

1:21:13

went to Walmart or local Walmart

1:21:16

where of course weird people are all the

1:21:18

time but as I

1:21:20

was walking through and I was kind of

1:21:22

focused, very focused on getting what I needed

1:21:24

to get and get out of there and

1:21:27

as I was walking I saw this man

1:21:29

and he was speaking to another

1:21:32

man and he was very short, maybe

1:21:37

chest high on me and

1:21:39

in my head I thought

1:21:42

the word troll and

1:21:44

then I started to kind of admonish myself

1:21:46

like why would you say that's so unkind

1:21:48

and it's just not like me to be

1:21:51

so unkind and

1:21:54

when I heard the word troll in my

1:21:56

head he literally I didn't say it out

1:21:58

loud. but he literally

1:22:01

turned around to look at

1:22:03

me and I dropped my eyes and I just

1:22:05

kind of walked past and

1:22:07

I went to across

1:22:10

the store into another aisle and just

1:22:12

thought what is wrong with you and

1:22:14

I went to another aisle and light bulb

1:22:17

aisle got light bulbs and I came

1:22:19

out of the light bulb aisle to

1:22:22

go to another part of the store

1:22:25

and I had a cart and as I was

1:22:27

pushing the cart I

1:22:29

realized that I almost hit somebody coming

1:22:31

out of that aisle and it

1:22:34

was that same man and

1:22:37

when I almost hit him I kind

1:22:39

of like stopped and like like to

1:22:41

apologize like oh my gosh you know

1:22:43

I almost hit you and I watched

1:22:45

his eyes and they blinked

1:22:48

sideways not up and

1:22:51

down but sideways and the pupil

1:22:54

wasn't round it was almost

1:22:56

like a snake and this

1:22:59

startled me and I went like that

1:23:01

and he smiled and he

1:23:03

had these jagged teeth

1:23:06

like to a point and

1:23:09

that scared me horribly and I just

1:23:12

took off running through

1:23:14

Walmart and I could hear

1:23:16

him he was running behind me and

1:23:19

he was making this really strange high-pitched

1:23:21

like running

1:23:24

behind me and people

1:23:26

were staring at me because I'm running

1:23:29

like a wild person through Walmart but

1:23:31

they weren't staring at him running behind me

1:23:34

making this weird noise they were

1:23:36

staring at me like I was crazy

1:23:39

and I get to the main

1:23:41

aisle and I just instantly go to

1:23:43

the checkout and I'm texting

1:23:45

my best friend and saying can I

1:23:47

call you something really weird just happened

1:23:49

at Walmart you're not going to believe

1:23:51

this and I get

1:23:53

through the checkout and I call her and I

1:23:55

say can you just stay on the phone with

1:23:57

me you're not going to believe me,

1:24:00

but I saw a troll. I swear it was a

1:24:02

troll at Walmart. And

1:24:04

she said, did he have on jean shorts, boots

1:24:07

and a green t-shirt? And

1:24:09

I was so taken aback because that was exactly

1:24:12

what he had on. And I said, how did

1:24:14

you know that? And she said,

1:24:16

I was just there at Walmart 30 minutes ago,

1:24:18

he was waiting by my car. He

1:24:21

read a sticker off of his car.

1:24:24

And she literally did the voice. And

1:24:26

she goes, yeah, he was reading my

1:24:28

sticker and he goes, free will healing

1:24:31

to her. And

1:24:33

she said, I just got the creeps got in

1:24:35

my car and took off. That

1:24:37

made me even more creeped out. But

1:24:39

that's my story. Hope you have a

1:24:42

great day and wonderful show. Thank you for all

1:24:44

you do. Thank

1:24:49

you, Dina. Man,

1:24:51

that call got a lot of attention. People

1:24:54

either loved it or were completely

1:24:57

creeped out by it. And

1:24:59

a few people even wrote in saying that

1:25:02

that's something one should expect. I

1:25:04

visit to Walmart. And

1:25:07

even more of you let me know that this

1:25:09

story had already been covered on

1:25:12

her friend Shannon Legros podcast into

1:25:14

the fray. Now I've linked

1:25:16

to that episode in the show notes where

1:25:18

you can search out into the fray. Episode

1:25:20

three, 92. The troll stuff

1:25:22

comes in during the latter half of

1:25:24

the episode. If you

1:25:26

were not cut straight to the action, Shannon

1:25:30

and her show. Pretty great.

1:25:33

So that story that you even slightly interested,

1:25:35

I think you

1:25:38

should give it a listen. And

1:25:41

speaking of our friend Shannon, she

1:25:44

lives in the Las Vegas area, the

1:25:47

location of her next major paranormal news

1:25:50

story of 2023. And this

1:25:52

is a big one. Back

1:25:55

in June, news outlets were taken by

1:25:57

storm when residents of a Las Vegas.

1:26:00

call 911 claiming to

1:26:02

have seen aliens in their backyard.

1:26:05

Here's WPVI ABC News 6's coverage on

1:26:09

the series of events. Police

1:26:13

in Las Vegas found themselves in the middle

1:26:15

of a UFO mystery last month after an

1:26:17

out of this world 911 call. They're

1:26:21

like 9 foot tall. They look like aliens to

1:26:23

us. Big eyes. They have big eyes. A

1:26:26

family called police a May 1 saying

1:26:28

something had crashed in their backyard. They

1:26:30

also said they saw large non-human creatures

1:26:33

roaming around the crash site. As far

1:26:35

fetched as it might sound, officers took

1:26:37

the case and the call very seriously

1:26:40

after a mysterious sighting of their own.

1:26:42

It's like a big creature. A big creature? Yeah, like a

1:26:45

long fancy car. Because I'm not going to BS you

1:26:47

guys. One of my partners said they saw something fall

1:26:49

out of the sky too so that's why I'm kind

1:26:51

of curious. Did you see anything land in your backyard?

1:26:54

Well after nothing unusual was found during

1:26:56

a brief search of the yard, officers

1:26:58

closed the case labeling it unfounded. This

1:27:03

story is pretty wild and

1:27:05

it seems that the Vegas police are taking

1:27:07

it seriously. I

1:27:09

even saw a report claiming that the

1:27:12

police department put surveillance equipment

1:27:14

all over the home and

1:27:16

that strange vehicles have been camped out out front.

1:27:20

It's all been pretty quiet for a while but

1:27:23

for a few minutes there I

1:27:25

too thought maybe we'd get a real life

1:27:27

alien out of this one. And

1:27:30

who's to say that we won't still? Because

1:27:33

believe it or not this wasn't the biggest

1:27:36

new story of the year. There

1:27:38

is one bigger that paves away for all

1:27:41

sorts of strange activity. But

1:27:44

we'll touch more on that here in a bit. First

1:27:47

I'm going to be having a couple more calls I'd

1:27:50

like to share with you tonight. Like

1:27:52

this one from Zach, in

1:27:55

Minnesota. Hi

1:28:00

Derek, this is Zach calling from

1:28:02

St. Paul, Minnesota. I just recently

1:28:05

discovered your show and

1:28:07

heard an episode, I think

1:28:09

his name was Edel, in

1:28:12

season 13 about Glimmer Man.

1:28:14

I had an experience

1:28:17

back in 2008. I was

1:28:19

playing in a band and came home late at night,

1:28:21

it was probably about 2.30

1:28:23

in the morning or 3 and

1:28:26

was sitting in my car

1:28:28

and thinking about how interesting it

1:28:30

is that there are so

1:28:32

many things in the world that our

1:28:34

perceptions are only limited

1:28:37

to what our brains can comprehend and

1:28:39

thinking about how interesting it would be

1:28:42

to be able to see everything that

1:28:44

was going on. And

1:28:46

I was just sitting there thinking about

1:28:48

that when in a house down

1:28:50

the block I started to see a light moving

1:28:53

around and I was just watching it and

1:28:56

interested in that and noticed

1:29:02

across the street from

1:29:04

that house was a

1:29:07

human figure that was

1:29:11

what I've learned is a Glimmer Man.

1:29:13

It was a shimmery and

1:29:16

translucent standing there

1:29:18

and I got the feeling like it

1:29:20

was watching the light that

1:29:23

was traveling around in the house across

1:29:25

the street. And

1:29:27

I watched it for a while and the

1:29:29

light in the house came out into the

1:29:31

front porch area of the house, moved around

1:29:34

a little bit and then came

1:29:36

through the window and zipped up into the

1:29:38

sky and I turned

1:29:41

my attention back towards the Glimmer Man that

1:29:44

was standing there and

1:29:47

I got the feeling that it got

1:29:49

the feeling that it was being watched

1:29:51

and it started to scan

1:29:54

around and then I got the feeling

1:29:56

that I was being watched and

1:29:58

I got a little freaked out. out and

1:30:01

this figure started walking down the

1:30:03

block in my direction.

1:30:07

A car came by and kind

1:30:09

of blinded everything

1:30:11

out with its headlights and

1:30:14

so I kind of lost track of where this

1:30:16

figure was. When that car

1:30:18

had passed I was kind of looking around and

1:30:22

I noticed it was on my side of

1:30:24

the street now where I was

1:30:26

parked and continuing to walk towards me I started

1:30:29

to get really kind of freaked

1:30:31

out and decided that when the next car

1:30:33

came I would get

1:30:35

out of my car while the car

1:30:38

could see me and go into

1:30:40

my house. So

1:30:43

I did that and

1:30:47

went into my house and I had a cat at

1:30:49

the time and I was

1:30:51

sitting there kind of

1:30:53

decompressing from what had just happened

1:30:55

feeling really freaked out. There's a

1:30:57

lot of other thoughts I

1:30:59

was having at the time I was feeling

1:31:02

like maybe I was witnessing something

1:31:05

strange. But

1:31:09

anyway I was sitting in my house and

1:31:13

decided to get a bowl of cereal

1:31:15

to just have a snack while I

1:31:17

was kind of like

1:31:19

decompressing from whatever this whole situation

1:31:21

was and sitting there

1:31:24

with my cat watching me and I started to

1:31:26

feel I don't know how

1:31:28

to describe it like electricity

1:31:31

kind of like a vibration and it's

1:31:35

pretty baby and at

1:31:38

the same time I was trying to kind of ignore

1:31:40

it and at the

1:31:42

same time I was feeling like air

1:31:44

moving around my face like

1:31:46

something was blowing on me

1:31:49

or something really

1:31:51

lightly really lightly but it was moving

1:31:53

and the weird thing was the

1:31:56

vibration was feeling like it was

1:31:58

coming from this same place

1:32:00

as this air was coming

1:32:02

from. So I looked at my

1:32:04

cat and she is

1:32:07

looking at the same place and

1:32:10

tracking it with her eyes as it's

1:32:12

moving around where I'm feeling the vibration

1:32:14

and this air

1:32:16

moving across my face. I'm

1:32:19

trying to stay calm and

1:32:21

at the time my wife and I were living

1:32:24

in this apartment upstairs and our one year old

1:32:26

daughter was in the bedroom across the hall and

1:32:28

we had a dog as well. And

1:32:31

my cat's watching this thing and she's not freaking out

1:32:33

or anything, she's just watching it and I wouldn't say

1:32:35

that I felt menaced or anything.

1:32:37

Like I felt fear when I saw the

1:32:39

Glimmer Man and this felt like something completely

1:32:41

different and it had

1:32:43

come through my window. I felt it

1:32:45

come in. Anyway, so it's

1:32:48

moving around and I can feel

1:32:50

it go down my hall and

1:32:52

over towards our bedrooms. And

1:32:54

as it goes down there and my cat's

1:32:57

watching it the whole time go down

1:32:59

the hall, it goes over by my

1:33:01

dog and my dog stirs in his sleep. And

1:33:04

then it comes back over by me

1:33:06

and I'm just watching my cat's eyes and kind of

1:33:08

I can feel where it was and

1:33:10

I'm getting this vibration feeling. That's the only

1:33:12

way I'm able to tell where this thing

1:33:15

is. It comes back

1:33:17

over by me and I could feel it again. And

1:33:19

then it goes back down the hall and

1:33:21

goes into my daughter's room

1:33:24

presumably because she starts stirring

1:33:26

in her sleep and making

1:33:29

sounds. And it comes back out, vibes

1:33:31

around me again and blows around my face and

1:33:33

then I can feel it go out the window

1:33:35

and gone. It was gone for a little

1:33:38

while. I came back in

1:33:41

and was doing it again kind of blowing

1:33:43

around my face. I'm watching my

1:33:45

cat's eyes and it's going around the room

1:33:48

and it comes right up in front of my face, right in

1:33:50

front of my nose and I can feel it blowing on my

1:33:52

face and I'm looking at my cat's

1:33:54

eyes and my cat is

1:33:57

looking at this space right in front of my face

1:33:59

and I'm feeling new. and

1:34:01

then my cat looks right into my eyes and

1:34:04

maybe it's just a coincidence or whatever,

1:34:06

but like my whole

1:34:08

body went like electric. Like

1:34:13

huge vibrations and then

1:34:15

it came out of my body again and

1:34:17

it zoomed away and

1:34:19

that started a whole bunch of

1:34:22

nights there and then in subsequent

1:34:24

homes where I

1:34:26

have been visited by this being. I

1:34:28

never saw the Glimmer Man again with

1:34:31

my eyes, but I don't know that they

1:34:33

aren't around and it seemed to

1:34:35

me that this Glimmer

1:34:37

Man was interested in this

1:34:40

phenomena that was in this

1:34:42

other person's house and

1:34:45

presumably interested in,

1:34:47

I don't know,

1:34:49

I don't know what, but like it

1:34:52

was weird and had

1:34:55

no idea what Glimmer Man were until

1:34:57

I started listening to your podcast just

1:34:59

recently. And Edel's story

1:35:02

with the little floating fish thing kind

1:35:04

of reminded me of what

1:35:07

happened to me and I thought I'd

1:35:09

share this story with you. Thanks

1:35:12

and love your podcast.

1:35:14

Thank you. Thank you, Zach.

1:35:22

Now Glimmer Man is another character that

1:35:24

really seems to be rising in popularity

1:35:26

as of late. And

1:35:30

it certainly helps when you put a name to the

1:35:32

entity, which our friends

1:35:34

at Expanded Perspectives Podcast seem

1:35:36

to have done a number of years ago. It's

1:35:40

believed that they actually coined the phrase Glimmer

1:35:42

Man. You

1:35:44

see, once one of these entities has a name, it's

1:35:47

easier for people to talk

1:35:49

about it. It's easier for people to

1:35:51

relate. There's

1:35:53

a reason that a vast majority of

1:35:55

these topics we discuss have Glimmer

1:35:58

names, because of the whole story. to

1:36:00

the ones that stick. Now

1:36:05

do you remember when I said there was a

1:36:07

bigger news story that paved the

1:36:09

way for other strange claims? Like

1:36:12

claims that someone here on Earth has

1:36:15

developed and implemented a near

1:36:17

invisible game of law system? Well

1:36:21

back in July a whistleblower by the

1:36:23

name of David Grush testified that our

1:36:26

government not only knows about UFOs or

1:36:28

UAPs as they call them, but

1:36:31

they've recovered several crashed craft

1:36:34

complete with non-human

1:36:37

biologics. This

1:36:41

is a big deal folks. UFOs

1:36:46

exist, the US government found quite

1:36:48

a number of them and they

1:36:51

are indeed of non-human origin. Those

1:36:53

are the explosive allegations from a

1:36:55

former intelligence officer tonight in a

1:36:58

whistleblower complaint that the inspector general

1:37:00

is taking very seriously. 36

1:37:04

year old Air Force veteran

1:37:06

David Grush is exposing what

1:37:08

he calls a top secret

1:37:10

military program that has reportedly

1:37:12

found wreckage of fully intact

1:37:14

UFOs. For years

1:37:16

there have been whispers and rumors that

1:37:18

the government had aircraft of non-human origin.

1:37:22

This report is the first evidence it might

1:37:24

be true. Now

1:37:27

that clip property of news nations

1:37:29

Elizabeth Vargas reports. And

1:37:32

like I said this is a very

1:37:35

very big deal. This guy Grush, he's

1:37:38

not a nobody. He

1:37:40

is a decorated combat veteran and

1:37:42

a former intelligence officer as

1:37:45

well as a member of several government

1:37:47

task forces designed to investigate UFOs and

1:37:49

UAPs. Simply

1:37:53

put, he would know.

1:37:56

And he has a lot to lose by

1:37:59

speaking up. So

1:38:02

if even half of what he's telling us is true,

1:38:05

something or someone is

1:38:07

visiting us here on Earth, and

1:38:10

our government not only

1:38:12

knows about it, but

1:38:14

has the evidence in hand. Could

1:38:18

that be where things like Glimmer Man

1:38:20

are coming from? Something

1:38:23

reverse engineered from one of those

1:38:25

recovered vehicles? And

1:38:28

as if all that wasn't spooky enough, Crush

1:38:31

also claims that people have been hurt and

1:38:33

even killed by not only

1:38:35

our government trying to keep these

1:38:37

secrets in, but by the entities

1:38:40

themselves. And

1:38:43

this is certainly something we're going to keep our eye on in

1:38:45

the new year, because it helps

1:38:47

support claims like this one, sent

1:38:49

in from the Upper Peninsula, all

1:38:52

the way back on Season 15, Episode 5. So

1:38:58

I was going to give you my name, but people

1:39:01

up here think I'm weird enough as it

1:39:03

is. So I'm currently

1:39:05

located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. And there's

1:39:07

a lot that leads up to this,

1:39:10

but to keep it short, I'll just get to

1:39:12

the point. A year ago, I was staying at

1:39:14

my mom's house, and

1:39:16

I typically stay up pretty late,

1:39:19

kind of have a hard time falling asleep. So

1:39:22

I'm in bed. I'm on my iPad

1:39:24

trying to pick something on YouTube to fall asleep

1:39:26

to. I look at the clock

1:39:28

on there and it says 304, something like that.

1:39:32

I lay back, close my eyes, slowly

1:39:35

start to drift off, and wake

1:39:37

up to my itchy beard. So I'm

1:39:39

scratching my face and I just happened to look to

1:39:41

my left. And

1:39:43

there's a tall, gray-skinned, pale-eyed,

1:39:47

emaciated thing standing

1:39:49

there. The best way

1:39:51

I can really describe it is to

1:39:53

compare it to Smeagol from Lord of

1:39:56

the Rings and Voldemort, if they had

1:39:58

a baby. That's kind of what it looked like. And

1:40:01

it was just staring at me like it was shocked

1:40:03

or surprised that I'd woken up and seen

1:40:05

it. Like it didn't expect

1:40:08

to be caught and I started

1:40:10

kicking and scooting and yelling. And

1:40:12

as I'm doing that it creeps to the corner

1:40:14

of the room where my view of it's obscured

1:40:16

by a stack of pillows next to me. And

1:40:20

the next part is kind of hard to explain.

1:40:22

I don't really know how to

1:40:24

put it, but I guess I

1:40:26

lost consciousness. Somehow I

1:40:28

ended up back asleep and when I

1:40:30

woke up I looked at my clock

1:40:32

and 40 minutes had gone by. Made

1:40:35

the mistake of telling my girlfriend and my mom and

1:40:37

of course, you know, they're supportive and say they believe

1:40:39

me, but I know they don't. Anyway,

1:40:42

that's it. Hopefully you can

1:40:44

use this. If not, no worries.

1:40:47

Thanks. Bye. Thank

1:40:52

you, Connor. Now there

1:40:54

should be no question as to why this one was

1:40:57

included. A

1:40:59

grey alien in the bedroom? It

1:41:02

honestly doesn't get much creepier than that. But

1:41:08

you know it's important to note that

1:41:10

none of the furbeech used by Grush

1:41:12

indicates that these are indeed aliens. In

1:41:15

fact, they seem very careful not to

1:41:17

imply that. Which

1:41:19

makes me wonder if they may be interdimensional

1:41:23

in some way. But

1:41:25

truth be told, for most of

1:41:27

my life I've entertained the idea that what

1:41:29

we perceive as aliens is

1:41:32

actually a version of us from the distant

1:41:34

future. Some sort of

1:41:36

evolved version of a homo-sabian. I

1:41:39

guess in this case we'll just have to wait

1:41:43

and see. Well

1:41:48

folks, I hope you had a good time rummaging

1:41:51

through the greatest cause of this. The

1:41:54

year of our Dark Lord, 2023. Because we're nearing the

1:41:56

end. But

1:42:00

I do have one more entry for you Probably

1:42:04

my favorite From

1:42:08

the territory of Puerto Rico, please

1:42:12

help me usher Jesus back

1:42:14

to the airwaves Hey

1:42:18

Derek, it's Jesus here from the island

1:42:20

of Puerto Rico Gotta

1:42:22

say that I love this space that you

1:42:24

have created for people to call in or

1:42:26

email their sightings and stories I think it's

1:42:29

it's really awesome 14

1:42:31

15 years ago. I grew up in the

1:42:33

central part of Puerto Rico and in the mountains

1:42:35

I grew up in a coffee farm and

1:42:38

this was a weekend. I remember I was in high

1:42:40

school we were wrapping

1:42:42

up coffee season and we were starting to

1:42:45

prepare for the next one and I

1:42:47

remember waking up this Saturday morning early

1:42:50

morning with my dad and we were

1:42:52

getting our stuff ready and Getting

1:42:54

the truck sort her out with all our

1:42:57

stuff And

1:42:59

I see my neighbor walking into our

1:43:01

property walking down road heading towards us

1:43:03

and he was not okay He did

1:43:05

not look good It looked pale and

1:43:08

he came to us and asked us

1:43:10

if we heard anything during the night

1:43:13

because He

1:43:15

got to his home and noticed that all

1:43:18

of his turkeys have been killed He

1:43:20

had a pen of over

1:43:22

50 60 turkeys decent size

1:43:25

15 20 pounds already Nature

1:43:28

animals that he would race and sell

1:43:30

in a little farmers market in town

1:43:33

and he was just wondering if we've heard

1:43:35

Anything it did that if our dogs marked

1:43:37

if he's dogs mark if we have heard

1:43:39

anything at all We would we did not

1:43:41

hear nothing at all. He

1:43:43

was actually distressed I don't think I've

1:43:45

ever seen him like like that But

1:43:48

my dad and I part to talk with

1:43:51

him talk home and down and he was

1:43:53

really distressed So my dad was like, hey,

1:43:56

how about you go over there and help him out

1:43:58

and see what he needs to figure out? see

1:44:00

anything to help fixing his pen,

1:44:02

see if you can see something

1:44:04

and just go out and help him out. So

1:44:07

I headed over there with my neighbor

1:44:10

and when I got there it was like I'm

1:44:13

seeing, I mean you would see dead

1:44:15

carcasses all over the pen. Something

1:44:18

really gnarly, something I've never seen

1:44:20

before but something I

1:44:23

noticed right away is that all

1:44:25

the turkeys that were in the pen dead had

1:44:27

no head, they were beheaded, there were no

1:44:30

heads, the body attached, the

1:44:32

heads were not anywhere to be around, there

1:44:34

were five or six that were marbling when we

1:44:37

got there that were about to die, but

1:44:40

the rest of them were dead and

1:44:42

had no head attached to the body. We

1:44:45

spent close to two hours

1:44:47

looking closely at the pen, it had

1:44:50

a fence that was six, seven feet

1:44:52

tall, a locked gate,

1:44:55

really no access for any stray

1:44:58

dogs, any other animals,

1:45:00

we have no big felons, we have nothing

1:45:03

like that, we don't have coyotes down there

1:45:05

in Puerto Rico, we don't have anything like

1:45:07

that, we don't even have big game

1:45:09

down there. So when it comes

1:45:11

to animals that could have gotten in there

1:45:14

and do that damage that is extremely, extremely

1:45:16

rare. The first thing that comes

1:45:18

to mind is stray dogs, there

1:45:20

was no way that the stray dog

1:45:22

can jump six, seven feet over a

1:45:25

fence to get to those animals and

1:45:27

it was something extremely, extremely gnarly. We

1:45:29

went over, started to look, started to

1:45:32

gather carcasses and we did

1:45:34

not find a single track inside, it

1:45:36

was something really odd, so after

1:45:39

we gathered all those carcasses up, we

1:45:41

piled them up and we buried them.

1:45:44

We put an extra fence around it

1:45:46

because we did not know what was

1:45:48

the problem with that, the gate was

1:45:50

locked, we just did not know, it's

1:45:52

something that to this day we still

1:45:54

don't know what it was and I

1:45:58

headed back home. That evening, my dad and

1:46:01

I always like to take walks around the farm

1:46:03

after we have dinner. And

1:46:06

then we had dinner and we headed

1:46:08

over to the farm to do this

1:46:10

walk. And we noticed that in a

1:46:12

section, we found a bunch of

1:46:14

feathers about 150 doing

1:46:16

away from that pen. And,

1:46:19

uh, we started to look underground

1:46:21

to see if we saw anything

1:46:23

that could lead

1:46:25

us to what did this to our

1:46:28

neighbor's turkeys. And we ended

1:46:30

up in a corner of the farm, which

1:46:32

is not my favorite because a lot of

1:46:34

stuff has happened in there. We

1:46:36

ended up in that corner and we

1:46:38

found more feathers that led us to a big

1:46:41

tree. There's a species of tree in

1:46:44

Puerto Rico called mocha. It's a big,

1:46:46

big tree. It's solid

1:46:48

trunk. It's used widely for

1:46:51

wood for different purposes. And

1:46:53

it's now a protected species because it

1:46:56

was almost extinct because it was such

1:46:58

a good source of wood and lumber

1:47:01

in the fifties and forties. And

1:47:03

when we go over to that corner, we

1:47:06

notice something that to this day,

1:47:09

I have no explanation, I have

1:47:12

dealt with animals of all sorts. I've

1:47:14

had plenty of experience because of my

1:47:16

line of work with dealing with exotic

1:47:18

animals, flat stock domestic animals, pets, you

1:47:21

name it. And

1:47:23

we are the trunk about five, 16

1:47:25

from the ground and that trunk of

1:47:27

that tree to this

1:47:29

day, as it was a nest and it

1:47:32

was a nest, but it was a massive

1:47:35

nest. That

1:47:38

had a bunch of fur,

1:47:41

it was a fur and hair and

1:47:44

had a bunch of bones of

1:47:46

different size bones within

1:47:48

the sticks and the wood. Whatever

1:47:51

made that nest, it was probably

1:47:53

very, a

1:47:56

very strong beam. I don't know

1:47:58

how to call it an animal. I really

1:48:00

do not know what it was. It was a

1:48:02

very strong beam that

1:48:04

made that nest. And

1:48:07

I remember we bumped into it. I was like

1:48:09

14, 15. I've never been a small kid. I've

1:48:11

always been a little chunky. And my dad was

1:48:13

like, get on top of it. I climbed it

1:48:15

and see what you see. And

1:48:17

I was, you know, just a teenager.

1:48:20

And I remember getting on top of

1:48:22

that nest. And it was big enough

1:48:24

that I could lay on it, constantly.

1:48:26

So whatever made that thing was

1:48:29

massive. Massive, massive.

1:48:32

And it had a clear path of

1:48:34

flying in and out because all

1:48:36

the branches on top of it were

1:48:39

ripped out of that tree. So whatever came

1:48:41

in and out of that tree, that nest

1:48:43

had a clear landing path and

1:48:45

clear flying off the path. I

1:48:48

remember seeing bones, smaller bones that looked

1:48:50

like could be rodent bones. I saw

1:48:52

bones that looked like could be dog

1:48:54

bones that were big enough to be

1:48:57

dog bones. It was something really

1:48:59

gnarly. I really, you know,

1:49:01

I remember I got off

1:49:04

of that nest and walking

1:49:06

back with my dad. My dad was

1:49:08

like, I know who that is. That

1:49:11

is just something extremely to

1:49:13

this day, something that we questioned what could

1:49:15

have been. Next

1:49:18

morning was a Sunday

1:49:20

morning. My parents are very religious

1:49:23

people. And I remember I

1:49:25

woke up at 8,

1:49:27

930 and my dad was coming back from the farm. And

1:49:30

I was like, Hey, dad, what are you

1:49:32

doing? What's up? He

1:49:34

was like, oh, it's nothing. It was nothing. I

1:49:36

was just doing some stuff in the farm before

1:49:38

going to church. I remember we

1:49:40

went to church. So after I

1:49:42

came back from church, I kind of knocked out

1:49:44

of the house and went over to that corner,

1:49:47

a little bit worried, concerned about

1:49:49

everything that had happened. And I

1:49:52

noticed that my

1:49:54

dad had cut down the tree and

1:49:57

had burned the tree in the

1:49:59

nest. It was cold

1:50:01

when I got there. Still

1:50:03

hot, it was cold. And I didn't think

1:50:06

that my dad did that at

1:50:08

first. I saw that thing burning and I was like,

1:50:10

oh, what happened here? So I came

1:50:12

back to the house and I'm like, Dad, the

1:50:14

tree got caught fire than that. Like what happened

1:50:16

here? And he was not

1:50:19

too verbal about it. He was like, yeah, I just went

1:50:22

there and cut it down. I'm like, Dad,

1:50:25

like, who would you do that? Like, we were

1:50:27

going to take pictures? We were going to call

1:50:29

the Department of Natural Resources, the Rangers, wildlife

1:50:31

officers and see if they know anything. Like,

1:50:33

what is it? Like, we really, I really

1:50:35

wanted to know what it was. And my

1:50:37

dad was extremely nonverbal. He was like, no,

1:50:40

don't worry about that. It's just, it's fine.

1:50:42

I cut it down and I said, all right, I

1:50:44

don't know. It's fine. He

1:50:46

was just not verbal at

1:50:49

all about it. He did not want to

1:50:51

talk about it. To this day, he does

1:50:53

not talk about it. But

1:50:55

the chilling thing is that night, it was a

1:50:57

Sunday night. That night around

1:51:00

12 1 a.m., I

1:51:03

started to hear on the farm cries,

1:51:06

like big cries. Like, I don't

1:51:08

know if anybody listening has heard

1:51:10

a drop of peacock

1:51:13

call like that. That

1:51:15

high pitch yell that

1:51:17

they admit something like that. I

1:51:20

have no clue what it was. To this day,

1:51:23

it's still kind of like, I wonder what

1:51:25

it is, what that thing was. I

1:51:28

assume that whatever it was in that mess

1:51:30

was that thing that took out my neighbor's

1:51:33

turkeys because anything that came

1:51:35

into that pen has to come over the

1:51:37

fence or flew into the pen from the

1:51:39

outside. There's nothing jumping it. There was no

1:51:41

damage to the fence. So I

1:51:44

connect those two things. It's just

1:51:46

sort of coincidental. I have never

1:51:48

seen a research nest of big

1:51:50

birds throughout the world. I

1:51:53

have tried to look information on birds and

1:51:55

see if you can talk to ornithologists

1:51:58

about what could have been. and

1:52:01

I just don't know what kind of build a

1:52:03

nest as big as I've got

1:52:05

things. Because I've seen we have a

1:52:07

species in Puerto Rico, a red-tailed hawk,

1:52:10

that makes pretty big nests. But it's definitely

1:52:12

not a nest that a 14-15 year old

1:52:14

like me could have laid on, like I

1:52:16

did with that one. So, if

1:52:18

you're just out there, maybe somebody else

1:52:20

heard something like that, or have seen

1:52:22

something like that in the Caribbean, or

1:52:25

any other part of the world, I will bust a deer. Yeah,

1:52:28

that's my story, thank you, Dad. And, uh, talk

1:52:30

to you later. And,

1:52:59

folks, that's gonna do it for

1:53:01

this year-end special. I

1:53:07

know I said it already, but I really do mean it. Thank

1:53:13

you all for an incredibly successful year, here at Monster Samana Studios.

1:54:53

above all else, keep

1:54:56

it spooky, and have

1:54:59

a good night. you

1:58:01

Just look along somehow, and the

1:58:03

machine with her eyes was somehow

1:58:05

off, spacing between her

1:58:08

nose and mouth was just completely

1:58:11

odd. And also

1:58:13

their mouths, their mouths were too

1:58:15

long. I

1:58:18

still remember that moment when they turned

1:58:20

around and looked at me, knowing that I was

1:58:22

watching them, still kind of chill that

1:58:24

night. That

1:58:29

eerie, mirrored motion,

1:58:32

like there was one mind controlling all three of

1:58:34

them. Noiseneaky's

1:58:40

secret entry into nearly every episode

1:58:43

that I produce. A

1:58:45

tradition we started back in season 11

1:58:48

or something like that. Honestly,

1:58:51

don't remember. But

1:58:53

it has been quite a while. Anyway,

1:58:57

it's here that I share the strangest calls.

1:59:01

The ones that don't really fit anywhere

1:59:03

else. Calls

1:59:06

like Mike's out

1:59:09

of New England. Hey

1:59:12

there, this is Mike. I'm from,

1:59:15

I'd say, the Tri-State area of New

1:59:17

England. Maybe you wouldn't think

1:59:19

it, but it's actually pretty rural in

1:59:21

most areas around here. Just

1:59:23

listening to your show and it reminds

1:59:26

me of this trippy

1:59:28

story that I've been hearing from one

1:59:31

of the kids that I grew up, a

1:59:33

couple streets down from me. I

1:59:35

just want to preface this by saying the type

1:59:39

of kid that experienced this and told

1:59:41

this story, he was

1:59:43

not to be condescending, but he

1:59:45

had not really much of a

1:59:48

personality. He was

1:59:51

just a real average kind of guy, not

1:59:54

the type of person you would expect

1:59:56

to become some

1:59:58

type of white guy. story or

2:00:02

you know anything like that. I didn't

2:00:04

believe in aliens, UFOs, nothing like that.

2:00:06

He was a real run-of-the-mill you

2:00:09

know kind of kid and that's

2:00:12

why this has stuck with me so much. I'd

2:00:15

say probably about junior

2:00:17

year of high school was the first time that I

2:00:20

heard it. This occurred to him

2:00:22

when he was maybe about

2:00:24

nine years old, nine or ten years old

2:00:28

and his family had a house and out in

2:00:30

the back of the house was

2:00:32

kind of like I

2:00:35

don't know what you'd

2:00:37

call it, it was like a wine cellar. They

2:00:40

had a couple freezers down

2:00:42

there or ice boxes or whatever for

2:00:44

storing meat you know deer

2:00:46

and stuff that they had killed or whatever

2:00:49

and this was out in the back of the house. It

2:00:52

was like a stairwell that led down to this

2:00:54

kind of a little basement

2:00:56

area and

2:00:59

I've seen the house myself before.

2:01:03

So anyways when he was like I said

2:01:05

about that age nine or ten he's

2:01:08

out in the backyard playing around and

2:01:11

for whatever reason he wanders down to this

2:01:13

cellar and he gets

2:01:15

down to the bottom of the stairs and

2:01:18

looks over to where there's these two

2:01:20

long ice boxes sitting you

2:01:23

know over on one side of the cellar.

2:01:27

From what he describes it was like

2:01:30

almost like a guy that looked

2:01:32

like a cross between Quasimodo and

2:01:34

Chunk from the Goonies just like

2:01:36

a real messed up looking big

2:01:40

dude you know contorted face

2:01:42

and the whole nine yards and

2:01:45

this guy is he's got the

2:01:48

ice box open and he's

2:01:50

just stuffing raw meat in his mouth.

2:01:52

He's just getting into that raw

2:01:54

meat that they had down there in

2:01:56

the ice boxes. Needless to say

2:01:58

he turned out to be the guy that was out there. and he

2:02:00

ran to the top of the stairs of

2:02:02

the cellar. And he says,

2:02:05

he remembers trying to open the door to get out.

2:02:07

And it felt like it was locked and

2:02:10

turning around and seeing this guy kind

2:02:12

of looking at him and

2:02:14

slowly walking towards him. He's

2:02:16

hammering on the doorknob, he's freaking out.

2:02:19

And then it just

2:02:21

finally pops open. He runs

2:02:24

out into the yard, screaming and

2:02:26

crying, goes, tells his parents, his

2:02:28

father comes out. Has a

2:02:30

look around and the father wasn't

2:02:32

able to find anybody, but they

2:02:35

were able to see that somebody had

2:02:37

been in that icebox eating

2:02:39

on that raw meat. So I

2:02:43

always just thought it was a wild story, totally

2:02:45

forgot about it. Just listening to

2:02:47

your podcasts was brought up back to mind. Like

2:02:50

I said, just the type of kid that told

2:02:53

this story, in my

2:02:55

personal opinion, there's no way in a

2:02:57

million years that he was just fabricating

2:02:59

this or telling it for

2:03:01

the hell of it. I've always

2:03:03

got freaked out every time I've heard about it.

2:03:07

A lot of kids around here that

2:03:09

were my age at the time, we all

2:03:11

knew about the story and just

2:03:13

felt like it was worth mentioning. Peace

2:03:16

and love. Now,

2:03:20

honestly, who doesn't wanna devour raw

2:03:22

meat by the handful? Returning

2:03:25

us to a more simple life. And

2:03:29

you know that might be the game plan for 2024. If

2:03:34

the trend continues, it

2:03:37

might not give us a choice. It's

2:03:40

an awesome entry, Mike. It

2:03:43

is one of my favorites on the year. So

2:03:46

thank you again for calling it in.

2:03:49

And a big thank you one last time for

2:03:51

an awesome year of podcasting. I'll

2:03:54

catch you all back here next week with a brand

2:03:56

new installment. but

2:04:00

your own supporters will be no beyond after

2:04:02

show today. That

2:04:04

portion will resume next week. Until

2:04:07

then, you'll be New

2:04:09

Year, everyone. And

2:04:11

again, have a good night.
