RATING
This podcast is hosted by the worst people. They act like stereotypical mean girls towards any other female involved in their cases, and don’t even bother to fact check the things they’re saying. With the size of their fan base, it’s irresponsible to continue spouting lies, misinformation, and pictures and full names of people involved in these cases. They have outright doxxed people, sending their fans after their workplaces and home addresses. It’s scary, and reminds me of trumps blind followers. I will not be listening anymore.
They are disrespectful to the victims, call everyone dumb and are just unbelievably immature. Grow up. The description of comedy is the funniest thing about the podcast
This ranks as THE WORST podcast I have ever listened to. It sounded like 2 HS girls at a sleepover talking about something they read but adding in personal opinions using the most limited vocabulary mostly consisting of the word F**K. That's bad enough but to top it off, they say things that are completely wrong. In the Albert Fish episode (the only one I listened to before I decided my time was worth more than that) they had no idea about the time frame the murders occurred , although they pretended to. More than once they made comments like "it was the middle of The Great Depression." when they were talking about 1924 or 1927 (not The Depression). Later, one refers to 1933/34 as post Depression. NO that was in the midst of The Depression that lasted until the start of WW2. Between the terrible unprofessional presentation and the pathetic knowledge of, well, anything - AVOID THIS PODCAST.
This is our favourite true crime podcast! Alaina and Ash are funny but respectful when telling the stories. If you havent listened to Morbid yet, why wait? Go do it, and stay weird lol
I started looking up reviews after hearing yet another illiterate mispronunciation of a common word. (You don't hear the "s" in debris, ladies. And "mercantile" is not mer-cent-tile.) One of the things all those mispronunciations indicate is that these women are relying on just reading out other people's research. What really made me unsub, however, was finding out that they are exploiting a supposedly apolitical podcast to promote misogyny and the legal, social and cultural erasure of women and women's rights.
Ash and Alaina inspired me.to start my own podcast. They have the exact personality like I do and we share similar catch phrases. My spirit sisters for sure. I love them and appreciate them and can't wait to meet them!
Was enjoying this podcast until the Kurt Cobain eps! Obviously normal for people to have an opinion on who did what, but I found they were talking as if it was FACT Courtney Love was a murderer and saying very harsh things about a woman who may have lost the father of her child and had to deal with the trauma. Felt super uncomfy so had to stop listening.
I just listened to Morbid for the first time (must have been living under a rock). It reminds me of an American version of Red Handed. Highly recommend for those who like the comedy / narrative genre
Pro: Alaina is an autopsy technician, so she actually has the ability to offer intelligent analysis over the cases they cover. Con: Ash. Her commentary is juvenile and uneducated. She constantly interrupts Alaina mid-sentence, and adds absolutely *nothing* to the podcast. It's mostly due to her idiotic commentary that this podcast is almost devoid of objectivity and respectability.
Love this podcast ! Its the best, the chemistry of the hosts is perfect and their conitued off topic rambling feels as if you are brought into their personal circle. They make you feel like you are longtime friends catching up on old times. Albeit twisted and horrific times.
My favorite true crime podcast. I've been listening for years and I can't wait for each new episode.
The stories are interesting but listening to them tell these are just unbearable. Repetitive annoying words and just obnoxious cussing, like listening to a teen who thinks it’s awesome to cuss. So much rambling and babbling about useless stuff as well. The only thought I have through every story is can people be so idiotic and listening to them talk confirms yes they can. Don’t recommend just based on the hosts of the podcast.
I love the energy they bring to the cases. It's not easy to be respectful of the dead while being entertaining, but they manage. I also love the insight Alaina brings as someone who performs autopsies.
This is one of the best true crime podcasts available. I cannot wait until each new episode is released, and usually you get two in a week!!!!
Great and enjoyable!
I absofuckinglutely love Ash and Alaina! I literally listen to them all day long. They're the best part of my day.
Used to be an avid listener 5 years ago. Many offensive things were said that I was able to ignore until Ash stated that “all military have mental health problems.” I have the episode and time stamp documented in my old Spotify review. That’s so offensive!! Couldn’t get past that one.
This podcast is one of my all-time favorites! I love how they share information in a way that's both respectful and engaging. With Spooky season just around the corner, there's nothing better than cozying up with a warm blanket, a cup of hot cocoa, and listening to their captivating episodes.
Used to love it. Now every 30 seconds there's a 5 minute advertisement. Super annoying.
